Hello Guys,
At first i just flashed a N900 Pre-Root Deodex file using Odin, but after reboot a window popped out displaying," Unfortunately, Direct pen input has stopped." And it happened all the time as it keeps freezing my note 3 with all these windows & notice over & over again.
I really don't know how did i go wrong. So I tried to do factory reset, wipe cache & dalvik cache using CWM Recovery 6.0.3.8 but to no avail. The problems worsened as now multiple windows starts to freeze the screen with different notice such as now:
1. Unfortunately, Direct pen input has stopped
2. Unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped
3. Unfortunately, Internet has stopped
4. Process system isn't responding
Do you want to close it
I checked into my download mode, it displayed CURRENT BINARY CUSTOM and SYSTEM STATUS CUSTOM ???
Please kindly advise, thanks in advance

Problem is solved by flashing Stock ROM from same Asian Region here (WAN) because my original country's Stock ROM (XSE) isn't available yet.

Hello, Can you elaborate further what exactly did you do? I got the same problem now on my Note 3
Thanks in advance!
Check logcat for crashes!
I disabled / uninstalled as many system apps that appeared in my drawer as I could. One too many it seems and Messaging would crash each time I got a text.
Re-installed the app from backup and just hid it in my app draw (ADW Launcher EX)
The remedy is simply flash your original firmware using odin, then for rooting process i just flashed using CF-Auto Root File with same method

At my point of trouble that time, it was totally chaotic as the phone kept freezing with multiple error windows, and i could neither use the keyboard nor using the phone normally at all. It was quite relieving to know that i could still reboot into download mode that time, otherwise i would be stressful in vain till now.

I ran into this issue as well, when I started carelessly turning off all the services on my GN3 to free up memory. I narrowed down the issue to the process/service called "MyScript ResourceManager." If this is disabled/removed, you will get the Direct Pen input error. Make sure you don't disable/remove this process!!
right

Not sure what you mean by this. I'm having the same issue now. I tried to root using this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg82AWA_lmI having no luck and failing on the first part. After that the phone wanted to be fixed via kies firmware; tried that with no success. I then tried these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525279 to recover. While in Odin, I was given a success message ONLY with the PIT. Everything else during, before and after fails. This results in me having to re-PIT every time.
So now the phone, even after a factory reset, is still showing the message
Unfortunately, Direct pen input has stopped.

Your solution is the usual error/solution for most. I just found out that if you are using xposed - xprivacy module to limit permissions that when I recently installed samsung's "Watchon" TV and its helper app Media that I recieved a popup from xposed XPrivacy to set my policy on something of a long winded name like "1000 ANT HAL Service, Android System, Application installer, Assistant menu, BluetoothTest, Camera Test, Color adjustment, DgitalPenSdK, Direct pen input, EasyOneHand, Enterprise Sim Pin Service...." and it goes on and on. Apparently it's one of those deep shared system identifiers that the new apps added themselves to so when I took my usually cautious approach to limit some of the permissions I didn't have any errors immediately but upon reboot it all began. I naturally did a search and found your solution is the most common but seeing as it wasn't a solution for myself I had to dig deeper. Anyhow, if anybody else is in my position with that particular error and it relates to xprivacy just know that you can begin releasing permissions rather than unrestricted for that mass identifier, or just use "clear" so that it is totally unchecked and the FC of Direct Pen Input will go away immediately.

"Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" error message on boot
Hey guys,
After flashing the 4.4.2 firmware to my Note 3, I get the following error message once the device turns on: "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped". I can just click ok and the message goes away but it shouldn't be appearing in the first place so does anyone know how to make it go away?
Thanks!

Only known solution I have on these issues is a factory reset. I don't think there's another way of fixing it. It is always recommended to do a factory reset before flashing a new ROM.
Hope this helps

I will give it a try see if it works.
I've tried resetting the phone but the message still appears. I've also tried tr-flashing the rom and that hasn't worked either. What else could it be?
I had this error message the first and the second time I booted my phone when I got it. I haven't seen it since then!
I have Hangouts, messages and S Voice disabled. Not sure if it has something to do with those apps...
Same issue...I have tried all full wipe, full reset, stock 4.4.2, leak, but still have that problem
I had the same issue. I did go to recovery and format everything in internal memory. Then, installed Kitkat from PC Odin...

Had the exactly same issue, I did a factory reset and it worked.
On similar problems with upgrades on both the S4 and S3 this have helped:
Go to phone settings-->More, then select Date and Time. Change the date format to something else then change it back to the format you wanted. Save and go back.
I have no idea if this will help on this problem but it might be a thing to try instead of a factoryreset

Does it also occur after a full wipe without installing/restoring any apps, accounts or contacts?
Also, test a different SIM, it might be malfunctioning.

try doing a factory reset, if this does not work then try flashing a different 4.4.2 or re-downloading the one you flashed and trying again.

if you are getting the problem on multiple roms then you must be doing something wrong during the flashing process.

I had that problem too and it almost made me to hit my note 3 into the wall. From the first day I turned him...
My fix solution was Settings>Application Manager> Menu > Reset app preference>Reboot. Do it again if its going to be the sam outcome. I found tjat when you are force stopping aps, or closing you are going to end with those messages....

i have same problem and posted before : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620340
i asked from all kings of developing , but no one could help me .
i searched on google and found out that problem maybe cause of our sim-card . maybe changing sim card your problem will be solved.
i'm almost confident that is cause of baseband " NA6" and we should wait for 4.4.2 for our region with different baseband .
be aware , this problem is with u even when try any custom rom , cause all af the are using NA5 and NA6 .
just crossing your finger and wait for new and diffrent baseban version my friend .

Are you rooted with any changes?
Sent from my Note 3...making all others drool!
I had the same type of problem myself,
But on my HTC one. I was close to start the painful process of unrooting my device and go back to stock.
My problem was not having ANY network & using the phone or sms didn't work at all. I read many "solutions" on the internet but none helped.
I experimented myself and found a solution to my problem. If it can help others as well I am glad.
First go into settings, then apps.
Scroll to all applications, search for phone.apk - if you have an option to uninstall phone.apk to previous version/state do this. Reboot the phone. In my case this did the trick and everything is working properly. Hope it helps others as well.
Please respond if you tried and it worked. It may be helpful for others too.

I have a LG L70 that I rooted. I didn't install any ROM's on it. But what I did do was change the run time from Davik to ART. When the phone turned back on I received the warning Unfortunately the phone stopped working. And when I tried to factory reset the LG L70, that's when I get the error message Unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped working. Then I reset the phone back to Davik with no success. Is there a solution to fix this problem without using a PC? I can't even download anything because I can't sign in to my Google account. And trying to download direct the phone will not open any files, even the files I've saved on my SD Card. Please help. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. Try wiping cache, dalvik cache, system data and then factory reset (all this from recovery). I don't own a LG phone but this process is the same for almost all phones I think.

How did you wipe the cache/dalvik in this situation. I can't even reinstall anything to re-root the phone. And there is no keyboard that I can type on. The only way that I can communicate with the phone is to speak through voice mode. And that isn't always a good experience.
Hello everyone,
I woke up this morning and my phone, not flashed or messed with has this annoying error "unfortunately phone has stopped" and it won't go away, i keep pressing OK but it comes right back(less than a second). I went to application manager and stopped all 3 "Phone" icons under all applications and cleared data. I have a galaxy s5, Can anyone please help me with this issue? I don't get incoming calls or anything.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks
Try each step, and move on to the next if first step doesn't work.
1- Turn off the phone and pull the battery
2- boot to recovery and clear cache
3- boot to recovery and clear cache and factory reset ( back up your apps and files!)
4- download stock firmware and flash via Odin or just install Samsung kies3 and do a fresh ROM install (erases everything, backup first)

Thanks for the tip! I had the EXACT same problem tonight with my stock T-Mobile Galaxy S5 running Lollipop. T-Mobile Support went straight to the Factory Reset card, which I didn't want to do, so I tapped OK to dismiss the message and then quickly tapped the phone app to start it up before the message came back. So far, the message hasn't returned.
I'm seeing lots of reports of this error in a lot of forums, most of them occurring in the past few days. I'm wondering if there's been an update or something causing this problem. It seems to crop up on different devices and different carriers.

Thanks so much!
