Hi all.
In my battery history it says my WiFi is on however I have it off and all other settings that makes it on in the background. Gsam monitor app says it's off.
This was after the 5.0.1 lollipop update.
Any ideas?

Mine does this when I move it from my home WiFi, to work Wi-Fi, and back again. If I leave it at home on the same Wi-Fi all day it won't get the NFC drain. I never found a solution except to stop bringing my nexus with me to work.

I tried reset to factory defaults - disabled wallet - turned off data sync - and Nfc keeps coming back -
what I really need to do is disable Nfc - I've had this device for about a month and it just started doing this
last Sunday. It was 100% battery in the morning and hardly used - by 11:00 am it was 4% with a big warning. :crying:
I have a problem with my galaxy s4 battery life. When im using mobile data or wifi my battery life decrease by 1% every 2-3 mins.
I also did *#0228# and accidentally pressed quick start and my battery life decreased from 50% to 19%
Power saving mode is on, location services is off, brightness is at lowest, nfc, gps, bt, and wifi are off. Auto sync and smart features are also off.
Any battery saving tips? Or should i bring my unit at the service center? TIA

I am sure my wifi is switched off when traveling. Still the battery shows wifi on the whole time. I dont know if this is causing a huge battery drain (screen on time is around 3.5-4 hrs) but wifi is shown on all the time (blue line when you go to settings -> battery -> graph).
I have all stock apps and a few usual apps (whatsapp, syncme etc) but nothing untested or unknown.
Any leads wud be appreciated

I keep GPS and location services off. I disable carrier IQ on startup. However, system is my biggest battery drain, and it shows GPS being on all the time. How do I make this phone keep its idiotic GPS off? And does anyone else have this issue?

Try to reboot the phone and immediately disable CIQ when it boots up.
I already do that. It doesn't make a difference. The GPS logo isn't lit up in the quick toggles either, so I have no clue what's turning it on.

Today over the course of 5 hours, in standby/battery saver mode, data off, WiFi off, GPS off, everything off, it drained to 84%. Normally it drains to 98%. GPS is still using the most when IT IS OFF. This is ridiculous.

Notification toggle does not turn off GPS function completely. Hold for advanced settings and you will see. With other settings on, it can still be "pinged" showing ghost stats. There are more "GPS" functions than just that actual hardware. Think Wi-Fi and Google / mobile network.
I keep location access off completely. I said that in the OP. Why is it everyone keeps telling me to do what I said in the OP I already do?

Because apparently something is accessing your GPS. The sensor wouldn't pop otherwise. I have 0 issue with this.
I use only mess in background everything else is greenifyed and battery don't last 1 day with like 2h sot. It is anything to do to reduce battery usage?
Thanks
