Hey, reason no one is replying is because it is either very difficult or it is basically impossible. I'd say when you are replacing the motherboard you are basically replacing the device as the motherboard does control a lot of things like modem. But I wouldn't think it would work because of the specific bands that the phone built is supposed to work with, also it would be very costly so I'd just prefer to sell the phone and buy a different regioned device G/F/C/U from online. If you do wish to do that, I'd say go with N910F as it has most development support. Sadly I have the N910G and it has "some" development but not as much as the N910F!
It might not be possible because of the placement of every component might not be identical with each model. This is based on my experience with my i9300... but this could have changed though... si your first assignment is to search for schematic diagram of the motherboards you want to swap. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
If you can find a motherboard I'd say wow, then I'd say maybe yes, however, the difficulty and chances of stuffing the device are high unless you're a technician. It will work no doubt but not worth the expense or risk.
In saying that you need to look and compare the two devices internally to see whether the hardware is an identical fit.

I'm looking at buying a prophet, and the description says that the " Phone randomly crashes turning the screen either completely light or completely dark and require a reseat of the battery to work again. This phone is considered un-repairable by the manufacture. Phone also has unsupported customized Windows Mobile 6.1 firmware."
could this be a software issue or do you think a hardware. possibly a ribbon cable, are there parts available for these? thanks
Hello Quintman and welcome to the forum.
I have no idea where you got the information in your post but as someone who has used a Prophet for 2 years I can tell you that the phone is perfectly stable, specially if you stick with the original WM 5 ROM.
I still use and love it but I would not recommend buying this phone today unless you are looking for something cheap.
It is fairly outdated compared to most models, and has no GPS, 3G, and a slow processor.
I suggest yo post your needs and budget in the general section so people could advise on a better model.
lol i just didnt want to say where it was so everyone would bid on it. it is from ebay. i just didnt know if maybe the rom someone flashed was causing the screen issue or if a ribbon cable came loose or something worse. i was just thinking of buying it to play with it. I currently have a wizard that im selling (hopefully today) so im looking into something else. i love the different models with gps and that can take sdhc, that way i could sell both my gps unit and my mp3 player, but i think those are out of my price range (unless i somehow score one on ebay.) i cant decide whether to take a chance on the ebay one. check your pm

Hi everybody!
I have had an i9505 for a couple weeks in june before returning it because the screen was terrible (there were faint colored lines when displaying plain grey). One month after the order, the store handed me a different model because their provider was out of stock : an i9515.
The seller assured me that it was the same with kitkat preinstalled. Judgeing from the characteristics printed on the box it looks so, but I noted a couple differences :
- Antutu detects it as a Galaxy Note 3 LTE-A
- the front cam looks different
- there was a sticker on it saying it was europe only
- it appears to heat a lot less than the i9505 i had.
Here are all the things i could tell about it. I would like to know if there are more differences, and if it's a better or worse speced model than the i9505. Also, can I pick ROMs and Kernels made for the i9505 for my i9515?
Thanks a lot in advance!!
A simple google search shows that the i9515 is a "value" edition, so probably its a cheaper variant. If i were you, i would go back to the seller and get back a i9505 or demand a refund.
Good luck.
I just got a gt-i9515 as well.
From what I read on other italian forums it appers to be just the same as 9505, but with KitKat 4.4.2 already installed.
Just found another thread here on XDA... probably there are some small differences as well,
and seems digitizer is not working correctly with touch recovery and CM11

also on a side note, some friends telling me to buy Note 3 instead of Galaxy S5, said its better, i read and saw some reviews but to me seems like using S4 with screen and Spen yeah have 3 GB of ram instead of 2. but other than that nothing new to Note 3 unlike Galaxy S5, more camera features and new layout.
which one would you suggest

Hello,
One of my chinese friend just gave me a note 3 Verizon as my old pre 3 died.
I played a little with it and installed Jasmine 6.1 rom. Then i travelled back to home and i found that i can't use any other sim card than verizon.
Is it possible to change that ? I didn't find anything that helps in the forum.
I apologise for my bad manners and my horible english.
Thanks for your answers.
Your English and manners are very good, so no need to apologize.
I'm no expert in moving phones between carriers. What I will suggest to you is that you search the 9005 forum (International Note 3) and perhaps other, more active Note 3 forums (eg Sprint forum). This particular device forum doesn't have a lot of participants.
Maybe you can find some technique that is applicable to the SM-N900V (Verizon Note 3) with the appropriate modifications.
Keep in mind that the 9005 is an Exynos SOC, not a Qualcomm 8974 SOC, so you certainly can not just flash something from over there on to your SM-N900V. Very different hardware than the Verizon/Tmobile/Sprint Note 3's
For what it is worth, I currently have a CM13 hltespr (Sprint) ROM on my phone that has a very tiny set of mods to allow it to work on Verizon. But that situation might be different from yours - that situation is an example of switching between carriers for which there is a Note 3 variant already supported by Samsung. I guess there must be a built-in carrier configuration database , because that mod seems to only change some carrier "index" values.
good luck with your search. Post a solution if you find one!
Hello,
So far nothing new. I'll seek more actively as soon as i can (my workload is a bit heavy these days).
Thanks for your answer.
I flashed this rom DarkLord.S7E.G935FXXU1APEK and i can use the note 3 with Free sim card (i am currently in France).
I need to test more to see if the phone is stable enought and the battery drain is acceptable.
I'll keep in touch if anything change.
Hi guys, i'm not very familiar repairing phones..
But to change a charging port on S4 looks easy , isn't it ?
but i just wanna know if the charging port band on "Sprint SPH-l720" (which i own) is the same part as Galaxy S4 I9515, I9505, I9506 ? actually the question is if the charging port for I9505 is working on SPH-l720 ?
Please reply me, Thanks in advance !
If you have a guitar pick and some precision screwdrivers handy, the phone isn't too difficult to take apart. Here's a tutorial on how to do it: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+S4+USB+Board+Replacement/16542. Take your time and it should be relatively simple to do. Looks to be about the same process as taking the Note 2 apart, and I didn't find that hard at all to do.
I don't know for sure, but the consensus seems to be that there may be subtle differences in their USB ports. Either way, why not just get the one that's specifically listed for the L720 model? https://www.amazon.com/ePartSolution-Samsung-SPH-L720-Charging-Microphone-Replacement/dp/B00EZ69E34
