Different sim card. - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
One of my chinese friend just gave me a note 3 Verizon as my old pre 3 died.
I played a little with it and installed Jasmine 6.1 rom. Then i travelled back to home and i found that i can't use any other sim card than verizon.
Is it possible to change that ? I didn't find anything that helps in the forum.
I apologise for my bad manners and my horible english.
Thanks for your answers.

Your English and manners are very good, so no need to apologize.
I'm no expert in moving phones between carriers. What I will suggest to you is that you search the 9005 forum (International Note 3) and perhaps other, more active Note 3 forums (eg Sprint forum). This particular device forum doesn't have a lot of participants.
Maybe you can find some technique that is applicable to the SM-N900V (Verizon Note 3) with the appropriate modifications.
Keep in mind that the 9005 is an Exynos SOC, not a Qualcomm 8974 SOC, so you certainly can not just flash something from over there on to your SM-N900V. Very different hardware than the Verizon/Tmobile/Sprint Note 3's
For what it is worth, I currently have a CM13 hltespr (Sprint) ROM on my phone that has a very tiny set of mods to allow it to work on Verizon. But that situation might be different from yours - that situation is an example of switching between carriers for which there is a Note 3 variant already supported by Samsung. I guess there must be a built-in carrier configuration database , because that mod seems to only change some carrier "index" values.
good luck with your search. Post a solution if you find one!

Hello,
So far nothing new. I'll seek more actively as soon as i can (my workload is a bit heavy these days).
Thanks for your answer.

I flashed this rom DarkLord.S7E.G935FXXU1APEK and i can use the note 3 with Free sim card (i am currently in France).
I need to test more to see if the phone is stable enought and the battery drain is acceptable.
I'll keep in touch if anything change.

Will This Section Be Divided?

As most know the Galaxy S series will soon have 4 variants, one for each carrier will this section break off to 4 different sub-forums?
I know usually you'll be able to find ROMs here but say we get a CDMA variant the unlocked GSM version won't work (or at least I think it won't). Just wondering how this section will play out since this is sort of a first for a phone to come to all 4 carriers in a different variant with different specs/features.
First and only sticky thread at the top. It's hard to miss.

[Q] Note 4 N910K Korean UK

Hi guys and gals,
I have the Note 4 N910K in the UK on 3 (three) network and i'm having no probs at all. Signal seems fine, battery is good, 4G working like a champ.
So I believe I can flash any rom from the K/L/S group of phones. I found an Asian thread (sorry can't be more specific) that has took the ROM and de-Korean'd it. That is the dialler and keyboard and other things where all international versions. Good stuff.
However, things like calendar and the weather and even S voice seem to be set on Korean rather than English, so If i have a widget with weather info it will be in symbol form. Even if I remove calendar and grab it from the store it comes back with symbols.
It's the Exynos version, I got it really cheap for £350 so i'll be gutted if I have to give it back.
Is there anything I can do? I'm good with computers and basic coding. Never really dealt with .tar files before. How can I get my ROM looking more international? I've got a GPE M8 here and i'm starting to think it might be better to stick with that
Help?
I know it's an old post, and I hope you already found the answer. But if you don't. You can use any custom rom for N910S or N910C series, all you need to make it work is just flash N910K boot image. And it would be work like a charm.
Hello,
I just bought a N910K for really cheap as well, is there a tutorial somewhere to be able to boot any custom (or even standard) N910C rom ?
Thanks a lot

What devices do this forum support?

Hello all.
Long time user of XDA but kinda confused on this particular thread. I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have only installed roms from it's respective forum. I also notice other carriers have their own forums as well but this one is just labeled Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I've never knew which phones these forums support or why it exists in the first place. Thank you very much for info and sorry for dumb question.. I just can't seem to find the answers. I do realize I can see what models the roms support and most models are something other than the sprint or verizon models (N900p and N900v) thanks again.
These are the boards for the remaining 6.9 billion inhabitants of planet Earth, namely the ones not living in the USA.
More specifically, these boards are dedicated to the International and/or Unbranded versions of the Note 3. Primarily the N9005(Snapdragon) and N900(Exynos), but also the Canadian N900W8, the Asian models and all other non-US models.
US models have separate boards because they are completely different devices with often completely different firmware. (right down to settings and options.)
All non-US models are variants of the primary models, the N9005 and N900. Aside from a few small, cosmetics software differences, they are all the same. So we've got one place for all of those.
But there's plenty of discussion regarding the US models here too, because the General, Q&A, Accessoires and Apps boards are for all Note 3 variants.
Hope that clears it up a bit.

cannyou suggest a good note 3 A7 or higher variant, solid. n900s

I forgot the words "custom rom" in the title sorry.
Is there a favored Android 7 custom rom for the n900s Q Adreno 330? (id say A8 but I doubt its too snappy.if even possible yet. But if so... please do.)
I currently have darklord v1 on here with 6.01. I know where are a few upgrades but is there a nice solid one with 7.0 and the A7 goodies-du-jour?
Suggestions? I you could please not skip whats obvious to you because it is yet to be obvious to me
btw, any benefit to changing my phone to internation from Korean? what? and how?
slightly offtopic: my note 4 went swimming withvout permission. its starts but doesnt charge the battery. and never kicks in after a bright pinkish screen Hopeless or screen and battery maybe? I live where I can get it fixed cheaply but dubious it is even worth the parts.
thanks very much.

Yeah, those don't help with the question I asked about recommending a custom rom. But thanks for taking time to try to help; I will go through more of the Korean thread.
Search, which I of course tried first, brings up a meandering series of different ideas, which is why people end up posting for those in the know to hopefully reply and sum history up.
(Is this not the correct forum to ask? It seems to be from the various descriptions.)
Thanks. I appreciate any advice.
I was pointing out as there are very few to no roms for that model you need to look at the development threads .

S4 GT-19500

Hello There i just tried to find a rom for my Gt-19500 and found the the latest supported rom was android 7.1.1 back in 2017 Yet all other S4 variants still get the latest roms can anyone tell me the technical reasons and if there any way whatsoever to find at least an android 10 rom for it?
The technical reasons? Probably nothing technical, but simply an issue of there being no developers working on the device. Unfortunately for you, this means if you want an Android 10 ROM for your device you will have to create it yourself.
I will note that 3G service is expected to be terminated in a year or two in most countries. You would be better served getting a phone with LTE capability.

thank you so much it's just that before that date it used to be all S4 variants together after that fate even TWRP stopped support for the device thanks again
It's a surprise to me that some models are still being worked on. After all the S4 is nearly a decade old now and many have gone through two or three devices since its introduction. Not to mention physically the plastic is cracking due to age; at least on my S4 it is.
It doesn't surprise me that TWRP development stopped. This device doesn't benefit from the newer features TWRP has that are geared towards the new devices. So there is little need to update.
