[Q] Reverting to 4.2.2 from 4.4.2 TMO D801

Hey there,
Is there a known way to revert back to 4.2.2 rom from the new Kit Kat update from Tmo? I want to flash the PAC Rom for this and can't because there is no TWRP or other way of a custom recovery as of yet on this update. Makes me sad. I actually am on a rooted stock rom at this point. Just no custom recovery. Thanks for any help.
You can use this guide(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476) to downgrade to a version where custom recovery is possible and you will be able to flash pac

I know there's a way to do it but based on this thread we may be seeing a solution that allows custom recovery with 4.4.2 soon . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667227

I've been following the thread and the way I see it is even if the way there making recovery works we who are on kit Kat still need to use the flash tool to go to jelly bean and flash a modified kit Kat that will allow custom recoveries

True. I'm just hoping it isn't so locked down that we can't use other custom kernels. But thanks for the link, I'll be getting my G2 in two days and that info was relevant to my interests.

You guys are soo awesome. I will hopefully be AOSP in just a few hours...

Well, as it turns out not so fast. I am trying to use the flash tool and am getting all sorts of errors. This is crazy I am contemplating returning this one to the Tmobile store and getting a replacement ( still inside the 14 day window. lol ) The replacement would still have 4.2.2 .. lol I hate being locked down. I die inside a little.

[Q] [Help] LG G2 D800 Won't Rotate

So, i have the LG G2 D800 and the Gyroscope works fine since i bought it, custom roms rotated fine but recently ANY Rom i flash doesn't rotate, ran some tests and the Gyro stays at 0,0,0 when i flash the d80010c to 20d kitkat stock from LG it rotates and the tests go from -1,0,2 and so on and so forth.
I don't want LG's UI, but i also want rotation, if you guys can help, please. I recorded it also just today, sorry for bad quality.

Simply download and flash this modem. Your rotation will be working just fine afterwards. Make sure to make a backup of your current baseband or if when/if you ever flash back to stock you wont have rotation with the stock rom lol. Simple fix

The modem you need to get rotation working depends on the custom rom you are using!
If you are using a custom rom that is based on LG's KitKat Source (e.g. Mahdi Rom, Slim Kat has now started with test builds) you need a non-modded KitKat modem version.
If you are using a Kit-Kat Custom rom, but which is based on LG's JellyBean Sources you need a moded Kitkat modem version to get rotation working.
Which custom are you using at the moment?
The moded versions can be found in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705509

You are right, I haven't read properly. But I think just providing people with download links doesn't help them at all.
For myself i want to know why these problems appear and why these issues can be solved by flashing this specific file.

Well no one had replied to his post and that was in March so I thought you would appreciate a quick fix. I usually like to explain my reasoning behind suggesting a link to download a file and what it's going to do and how exactly its going to fix your problem and what has happened in the first place so the user not only gets an answer or ultimately a solution he is now is knowledgeable on the subject for future reference.

I noticed that is for a D800. Which one is for KiTKat D80220D Stock ROM? I was trying to get LTE and flashed a modem but lost rotation. I need to get back to the original D80220D modem. Thanks.

That is not going to work for a D802. The only way to fix this is to flash back to stock (fully). I did that an amazingly lost nothing except root. I was proud of myself. Then in the process of trying to regain root I lost everything...ouch! I completely forgot about how i originally got root while in JB an and still had the old iroot files. It was a disaster.

Hi, the link you had provided is no longer active. Is it possible for you to update that please? I am facing this problem currently and your post appears like the best answer around. I intend to try out your method, however that can be possible if you can update the URL for downloading and flashing the modem.

Stock

Running Stock Rooted how do i get the 4 way reboot menu? id love to stay stock
thanks in advance
ive googled and searched only comes back for att/tmo/vzw
STOCK ROOTED KK
Wrong wrong wrong place. Should go in Q&A section.
As far as I know you need to be rooted. Possible with xposed framework.

Use xposed framework and wanam xposed... Turns a stock ROM into a beast with more options than you'd ever need. Also Daniel is correct please be more conscious of which sub forum you post in.

Need help! Cant get back to kk base roms

I have been on this D801 TMO LP Extreme v1.0 rom since may. I like the rom its really nice but i want to go back to a kk rom. So ii download the 20g boostack and the OptimusG3 Rom V1.4.1 rom. First i wiped....flashed firmware..then flashed optimus rom...o wss stuck in bootloop. Then i flashed the firmwear...wiped...and flashed optimus rom. At the end of that flash it says something about loki failed or something like that and i was stuck in bootloop again. So i ended up flashing 30b bootstack and extreme rom again...how do i go back to kk? Can i get some help here? What am i doing wrong?

You need to first install a KitKat baseband, install the kitKat boot stack, and then you can flash cloudy g3 KitKat.
There is an app around here that let's you change between different bootloaders. Look in the forums and I'm sure you will be able to flash it.

Well....that didn't work. I did everything you said except for flash cloudy g3. Does it only work for cloudy 3g? I tried to flash the optimus rom again with the method you told me to do. I wiped before i did it tho...was i not suppose to?

CloudyG2 has always been a popular choice with G2 users.

Think I do to be honest.
Any way I can backup my current rom so if anything goes wrong I can just restore to the original one that came with my phone?
or should I just follow this thread to get the original rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Actually never mind about that.
My question would be how do I install / use KK bootloader?

Once you have rooted and installed TWRP you can use TWRP to perform a complete backup of your stock ROM. That way if anything goes wrong you can restore the backup.

Okay. So, you can download AutoRec V2 from the Play Store for your exact model number and use the app to make sure you have the KitKat bootloader or install the KitKat bootloader. Check it out here:

AutoRec does not seems to work on my phone. It stucks on loki...installing.
Also, I can not even install a custom recovery for some reason. Tried a few methods but my phone just gives me an error like Secure Booting Error! Cause : boot certification verify but then boots out normally.
This has been a problem with LG Devices. Look through the LG G2 GENERAL FORUM and the Q & A FORUM for a solution. There have been several threads created because of this issue. I'll see what I can find for you.
