Hey there,
Is there a known way to revert back to 4.2.2 rom from the new Kit Kat update from Tmo? I want to flash the PAC Rom for this and can't because there is no TWRP or other way of a custom recovery as of yet on this update. Makes me sad. I actually am on a rooted stock rom at this point. Just no custom recovery. Thanks for any help.
You can use this guide(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476) to downgrade to a version where custom recovery is possible and you will be able to flash pac

I know there's a way to do it but based on this thread we may be seeing a solution that allows custom recovery with 4.4.2 soon . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667227

I've been following the thread and the way I see it is even if the way there making recovery works we who are on kit Kat still need to use the flash tool to go to jelly bean and flash a modified kit Kat that will allow custom recoveries

True. I'm just hoping it isn't so locked down that we can't use other custom kernels. But thanks for the link, I'll be getting my G2 in two days and that info was relevant to my interests.

Well, as it turns out not so fast. I am trying to use the flash tool and am getting all sorts of errors. This is crazy I am contemplating returning this one to the Tmobile store and getting a replacement ( still inside the 14 day window. lol ) The replacement would still have 4.2.2 .. lol I hate being locked down. I die inside a little.

Hey guys quick question my n4 is rooted and running cm10.1.3. I never bothered to upgrade to 4.3, so my radio, kernel and bootloader are stock 4.2.2. Is it better to get the ota update and be up on things or flash stock kernel, boot loader and radio for 4.4 when ever there available? Or maybe factory image?

my friend as this will pop up all over the forum the best thing to do is just wait for a rooted version to show up. I did not upgrade my bootloader and I have not had any issues with 4.3 which mind you is a great running OS you should try it.
I dont understand having root then unrooting to flash stock which you obviously dont like since you run cm and then wait to root it all over again to back an upgraded rooted version of cm...

Question on the way for the custom recovery+kernel guys on 4.3 what is the best to upgrade besides wiping your entire phone and flashing the stock images entirely?.
I think i know 2 ways just not sure they are recommended, 1st is flashing stock kernel + returning recovery to stock (should get OTA)
2nd is flashing only the system.img and the bootloader me thinks.
Feel free to verify this.

You make a lot of sense ,its more of curiosity and so I won't brick my nexus. So I can get away with not upgrading my bootloader for 4.4?
What about kernel, do I need to update that for 4.4 or is that judgement call?

you are asking questions that trial and error are going to figure out for us. Kernels of course if you are on a 4.4 rom you would use a 4.4 kernel. Upgrading your bootloader may or may not be needed but we wont know until kitkat starts popping. everyone said you needed to upgrade bootloader for 4.3 but I have never had any issue at all.... Just wait it out and read read read

Not to sure but as long as you're on stock ROM and stock kernel you should be fine although I don't know if custom recovery keeps you from getting update.

Absolutely bro
You do have to be on stock recovery, stock bootloader for the update to go thru properly otherwise it'll fail.

If you are still on stock rom and you just have custom kernel+recovery, U could do the following for not using any current apps or files.
- Wait till your favorite Toolkit (e.g Wug) get updated for 4.4 and then download the official factory rom.
- Extract it and keep all separate zips, like radio, bootloader, system etc.
- Unroot and flash stock kernel
- Flash all previous zips, EXCEPT user.img which will delete everything
- Reroot and U r ready to flash again custom kernel
Maybe a noob question but my n4 is rooted. Will this cause any problems withe the update?

Hello,
My phone has already had the radio upgraded to latest so it can run 4.3. I am rooted, have TWRP 2.6.3.0, will I be ok to flash the PA 4.4 and gapps? I keep posts about folks losing their sdcard data and their custom recovery being removed (not sure how!).
Thanks.

I'm sure that radio doesn't affect your ability to flash certain ROMs so you shouldn't have a problem flashing 4.4. As far as losing SD data not sure how that's happening.

So, i have the LG G2 D800 and the Gyroscope works fine since i bought it, custom roms rotated fine but recently ANY Rom i flash doesn't rotate, ran some tests and the Gyro stays at 0,0,0 when i flash the d80010c to 20d kitkat stock from LG it rotates and the tests go from -1,0,2 and so on and so forth.
I don't want LG's UI, but i also want rotation, if you guys can help, please. I recorded it also just today, sorry for bad quality.

4:15 PAC-ROM [PA_GAPPS] 4.4.2
11:40 LG G2 KitKat Flashable rom [Stock] 4.4.2
Simply download and flash this modem. Your rotation will be working just fine afterwards. Make sure to make a backup of your current baseband or if when/if you ever flash back to stock you wont have rotation with the stock rom lol. Simple fix

The modem you need to get rotation working depends on the custom rom you are using!
If you are using a custom rom that is based on LG's KitKat Source (e.g. Mahdi Rom, Slim Kat has now started with test builds) you need a non-modded KitKat modem version.
If you are using a Kit-Kat Custom rom, but which is based on LG's JellyBean Sources you need a moded Kitkat modem version to get rotation working.
Which custom are you using at the moment?
The moded versions can be found in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705509

You are right, I haven't read properly. But I think just providing people with download links doesn't help them at all.
For myself i want to know why these problems appear and why these issues can be solved by flashing this specific file.

Well no one had replied to his post and that was in March so I thought you would appreciate a quick fix. I usually like to explain my reasoning behind suggesting a link to download a file and what it's going to do and how exactly its going to fix your problem and what has happened in the first place so the user not only gets an answer or ultimately a solution he is now is knowledgeable on the subject for future reference.

That is not going to work for a D802. The only way to fix this is to flash back to stock (fully). I did that an amazingly lost nothing except root. I was proud of myself. Then in the process of trying to regain root I lost everything...ouch! I completely forgot about how i originally got root while in JB an and still had the old iroot files. It was a disaster.

You can root the stock KK ROM, but you just can't have a custom recovery. Although the T-Mobile one has a rooted stock KK ROM with custom recovery available if you follow the directions.

What I did was I KDZ'd back to 4.2.2, then I rooted that and flashed a custom recovery. With that custom recovery I flashed T-Mobile's official 4.4.2 KK ROM and then flashed SuperU to achieve root on that ROM.
So now I'm running the official TMO KK ROM with root. I have no idea if that same process will work with your phone though since it's a D800, mine is D801. But I would assume it's the same process. Get the KDZ image of the D801 4.2.2 ROM, then you root that and flash TWRP recovery. Then you use that to flash the official KK ROM with SuperU.

Someone give me a tutorial to installing 4.4 kitkat on the AIO SGH-1337Z because i am fed up and i am so tired and frustrated and depressed and just please somebody help me.
I've had to odin the firmware about literally 56-60 times now trial and error and im getting exhausted.

I know its hard to guide you since you dont see too many guides for your specific phone. All i know is that I have an AT&T phone on Aio.
I follow this guide

I Odin full nb1 since i was stuck on download mode.
Then I downgraded to mk2
Once you are on mk2 you saferoot
Then install safestrap.
Unfortunally we can not flash custom roms since the bootloader is locked. We can only flash TW roms.
