CloudyG2 has always been a popular choice with G2 users.
Here are some links to other popular ROM threads:

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Heck, try all 3 and see which one suits you best. Good luck on your choice and happy flashing.

Think I do to be honest.
Any way I can backup my current rom so if anything goes wrong I can just restore to the original one that came with my phone?
or should I just follow this thread to get the original rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Actually never mind about that.
My question would be how do I install / use KK bootloader?

Once you have rooted and installed TWRP you can use TWRP to perform a complete backup of your stock ROM. That way if anything goes wrong you can restore the backup.

Okay. So, you can download AutoRec V2 from the Play Store for your exact model number and use the app to make sure you have the KitKat bootloader or install the KitKat bootloader. Check it out here:

AutoRec does not seems to work on my phone. It stucks on loki...installing.
Also, I can not even install a custom recovery for some reason. Tried a few methods but my phone just gives me an error like Secure Booting Error! Cause : boot certification verify but then boots out normally.

This has been a problem with LG Devices. Look through the LG G2 GENERAL FORUM and the Q & A FORUM for a solution. There have been several threads created because of this issue. I'll see what I can find for you.

Root and OTA

If I ever get an OTA update (almost unheard of on AT&T), what do I need to do before I install it to not mess up my phone? It's currently just rooted on the stock ROM.

unless you put a custom recovery on the phone

you get a nice recovery bootloop
but if you get an update
just use the update tool on the pc and plug your phone in and even if you
have a custom recovery it'll update because the update tool does it in download mode
What does "upgrade recovery" do in LG Mobile Support Tool? I tried googling it and couldn't find anything. I rooted and installed TWRP, and the LG Mobile Support tool says I don't have an update available but I'm only on the D80010d, not D80010o

Questions Before Rooting

Hi, I've had my G2 for a couple weeks now and I absolutely love it. The only thing is that I've gotten so sick of the loads of bloatware and useless junk that I've decided to root it. I've rooted 3 or 4 phones before and the methods for the G2 seem just about as easy as it gets. I found 2 guides, one for actually rooting and one for installing TWRP recovery. I was just wondering if it matters what order I do this in, and also whether or not these guides are all I need to get my phone all ready to flash roms and all that other fun stuff. I've included the links to the videos below. Thanks in advance

The methods you mentioned above seem fine, but isnt restoring my nand backup(backed up on a stock rom) and flashing a stock rec, then unrooting is the simplest way?

are you sure that is the best method for the international model?
i have the 16GB model, and the download provided in the TOT section of the guide is for the french one.
should i wait for the 16gb kdz file from my country(israel)or flash the french one(i need hebrew stock)?

I might try it in a few days when the official 4.4.2 update gets released here.
Just so i would know, will restoring my backup(it is stock 4.2.2, i'm currently on cm11 4.4.2), flashing a stock rec and unrooting work?and if it will, will it bring back OTA?

I honestly don't know, I don't even know if there's a file you can flash that restores it to stock recovery. Using the TOT or Method 2 is essentially a file that restores it to stock ROM and stock recovery, so that's the only way I would know. But I supposed you're more than welcome to try it and see if that works.

There is this website named storagecow
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/
And it has many firmwares available for download. As long as i download it in kitkat version, is it ok that i download the open europe version?
edit:in the open europe D802, the file's name doesn't state if it is 16 or 32GB, or even kitkat.
is it safe to use it with method 2?

Just make sure you're using the correct kdz for your device, do not flash another device's kdz file. So only download the version that's your phone.

Sprint LG G2, can't install a custom recovery

Hello all, I've got an LG G2 LS980 on 4.2.2 Jellybean. (I do not want to update to Kitkat) I cannot seem to install a custom recovery. I've read multiple guides and followed them all perfectly.. The ones using loki flash always give an error such as "Not a valid loki image" or "aboot version does not match the device" I've tried using the dd command on teamwin's site as well and all it did was completely remove my stock recovery. I've spent days trying to get this to work, please could someone help
