hello friends was trying to use Link2SD but not grab me the second ext2,3,4 partition did nothing. the only thing that worked for me was 3gb fat16. My memory is 64 GB I wanted was to have 40gb for photo, video, music and games remaining q are 20gb which is the second part.
The message shows me Link2SD try to mount: argument.
any solution?
Thank
First and second partition need to set as primary. Use first partition fat32 and second partition to ext4. If still not working set the second partition not larger than your internal rom 8gb i think. Don't use move to sd since not all apps are willing, use link to sd it's safer. Hope it helps.

I have installed and confirmed that Link2SD works. It is really simple to do. I've moved almost all of my apk files from the limited main memory to the internal sdcard and everything appears to be working wonderfully.
You can download the apk and find the instructions here.
I created a 1 GB ext2 partition on the internal SD. I did try configuring my microSD card, but the Link2SD app is only configured to look at /sdcard, not /sdcard2, so only the internal memory will work.
I'm excited to get around the limited memory issue and with Link2SD I don't have to wait until Froyo to install more apps on the S7.
Please be aware that this only creates a symbolic link to the apk file, so all of an apps files will not be on the internal SD. I was able to recoup over 50MB of space, YMMV.
Thank you my friend!
What a nice little work around! I partitioned 2GB for ext2 from the internal card. Works like a charm. Not only do you recapture app space, but I'm assuming all other apps can be installed then transferred to the ext2 partition, so I essentially have 2GB for app storage.
Has anyone tried move2sd which require's root, but doesn't require partitioning? It looks like a good alternative.
Thank you for the "fix"-great job.
How did you go about formating the internal 8gb SD card? I'd like to do this too
EDIT:
NVM, hooked it up to my ubuntu box, mounted internal for usb, used disk utility to formate a smaller FAT32, then formated a 2GB ext2
Thanks for the info, this worked w/o scripting and all that. Fantastic results too! Now if only I could get Qik to work... it will not stream my vids to their site.
The new version of link2sd supports moving the dalvik-cache as well. Also it seems to have better support for upgrading apps.
Apps disappeared after linking
After reading the comments here, I went ahead and installed link2sd to move my storage hogging apps to the ext2 partition of the internal 8 gb sd card. Everything went well until I rebooted. Basically half the apps (Angry Birds, Google Maps, to name a few) disappeared from the drawer. I have tried rebooting a few more times, but nothing is working. Any solution or suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks
im trying since hours to get link2sd to work on the huawei s7
i connected the device to the pc and made a 2nd parttion (ext2) on the internal sd card for link2sd.on a windows xp machine with minitool partition home.
but the s7 give me the message "internal sd card damaged".
plz can someone help? by posting a step by step instruction how to partitionate the internal sd card?
but r u sure it will work
like nothing will damage right
I have found that partitioning the internal sd card as fat32 instead of ext2 seema to work well. The post I read for partitioning suggested that fat was a better method. I havw performed this mod on 2 tablets using easeus partition master on my laptop and both tablets work great with link2sd. I havw no experience with minitools but easeus is a free util for windows. Good luck and post your results.

I think it doesnt work in ext2 partitions! Make an ext4. You can see if it works with titanium backup on the first page, below it has the sdcard, internal and sdcard (a2sd)

it shows me
internal 201mb (60 free)
ds card 7gb (6.1free)
sdcard(a2sd) 219mb (17.7 free)
ext sd card7gb (6.1 free)
so probably it does not work with ext2.
First you must have a2sdfroyo it is availaibal in the market. It works on rooted phones only . Chek the case of external . With kyrillos i think you must have also ext4 partition in your sd card . It works with me very well
install some applications then go to titanium backup and move app to internal
make so after that
Internal storage full despite of big ext4 partition
Hello, I have a similar problem. I'm now running Kyrillos 4.0 and have a 1GB ext4 partition on the SD card.
In Titanium backup I can see that some apps were installed to the A2SD partition, but there is still plenty of space left on it.
Now my phone run out of internal storage and I can't install any more apps. Moving all apps to SD and back to internal with Titanium didn't help.
So how can I fill the A2SD partition and prevent apps from being installed to the internal storage?
Titanium backup says: Internal memory: 26.2 MB free; SD: 1,84 GB free; A2SD: 708 MB free.
Android system says: Warning, low space, Internal memory: 15,29 MB free !
Something is wrong and I don't understand...
where should the 2nd partition be mounted to work with a2sd automatically?
I have the exact same issue here. I've partitioned the sd with ext3 and now I have no internal memory left. I've got 280MB left on a2sd partition. Going into applications and moving what ever I can do SD doesn't change internal memory a single byte....
KYRILLOS, all the BEST for your EXAMs
As a new user I'm not allowed to post in the development forum (I would have preferred to do this just by a reply in your ROM forum)....
Thank's a lot!!!! Your WORK's making me love my phone.
Looking forward to more than "ohhhh, just mms app changed in 5.6?", which I've seen in the forum....
Go onn that way!!! And one more THANK YOU!
Hello Guys
I would like to know that if my SD Card 16GB has partition into 2 primary drive - FAT32, EXT3; and my android system is running on FAT32 partition, can I run the Link2SD to put all apps into EXT3 partition?
I try it and it shows the manual of the mounting partition. However, it shows the error message of mounting /dev/block/vold/179:2 on /data/sdext2 failed. I would like to use it even it is in SD version of Android so that I can minimize the usage of internal ROM. I use the traditional App2SD and the memory is gradually reduced when I install new apps.
Thanks

SD Android uses no ROM. The applications are stored on what is read by the system as 'internal storage' but is actually a data.img file which is normally 1gb, therefore you already have 1gb of your SD card dedicated to storage of apps. I don't know if you still would like A2SD despite this, but I thought this would probably influence your decision.

Thanks for your reply. When downloading apps, Android will treat it storage at the internal storage, that is, the memory reduces very fast. Using App2SD will help to show higher memory storage, which is similar to NAndroid. However, the memory is still lowered as it seems to move the apps only to outside, keeping data internally. Therefore, it can download up to 60-70 apps, but it is impossible to store like 200apps. Link2SD could solve it, but I cannot link to EXT3 after using it. Any suggestion on it?
I have pationed my sd card into 1 gb ext4 patition now I am using h9....now it shows only 6gb memory card....and my internal memory ia same...and the remaining 1gb is not found...hp to make that 1gb as my internal....
You need to use Link2sd & mount the partition then you can link apps
If link2sd doesn't give you the option to mount the ext partition you created it wrong
You can create your partition in cwm under the partitioning section - note that it will format your sd card so backup first to pc
Also note that your internal storage will not increase - this is a fixed hard drive and unless you magically fit a bigger one it will always be the same
What you are doing is creating virtual storage space on your sd card that acts like internal storage
The advantage is you can install more apps
The disadvantage is the more apps you link the more laggy the phone will get

By either formatting the sd card with your phone or creating a new partition in cwm (this will delete everything on sd card so backup first to pc)
Or
Use mini tool on pc to format the partition & then merge the partitions or delete all partitions & create a new one
I hope this is the right place to ask.
To make this long story short, I bought a 128 GB micro SD card and I've successfully created a second partition using GParted as it's the only option currently for a micro SD card this size I believe. Now, when I open Link2SD it asks me what format my second partition is and when I select it a mount script error pops up. I've tried just about everything and it does not want to work. Also when I go into settings and storage, I do see two storage options. Now on my FAT32 I'm able to click on it and it lets me view the files, but when I click on the second partition it wants to open but immediately closes on me and takes me back.
I'm not sure what to do, but I've seen people that have been able to do this and I just want this to work. Only reason why I purchased a 128 GB. I'm on CM13 if that matters any.
Wanted to give an update that it seems to work fine when I am on stock Samsung. As far as I can tell, any AOSP ROMs do not want to work with Link2SD for me.
