It's about freaking time! ATT update should be live today for the Edge and S5, at least according to Google Now. Was beginning to lose hope in this device for a minute so I'm glad there's some type of conformation it's on the way.

The change from dalvik to art is why. My phone got so hot while optimizing I put it next to my window while it completes. It downloaded fast on my friends Edge but we both are covered by band 41. Took him the most 10-15 mins which is good for a file that large.

Me too! It was the first thing I nagged at and said wtf Samsung. Other than that it's been fluid. I haven't experienced the awful lag that would randomly occur and freeze my phone for about a minute on kitkat which is a big relieve. The new keyboard is also more responsive to me. Good update overall!

How to get the new FB UI
first opt out of beta programme..(if you arent a tester ignore this step)
link for beta is here
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/facebook-for-android-beta-testers
then join alpha..
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/facebook-for-android-alpha-testers
after joining..uninstall Facebook app..reboot phone...
now search for facebook app in play store and boom...you will have the latest there
If you still have old ui clear the app from recent apps and start it
did not work for me.
edit: it does indeed work

I've been in both groups for like 2 months. Still no updated UI. Search a bit, the new UI is rolled out server side, from Facebook. There's no way to actually "get" it. You get it when they roll out the update to you...
Worked perfect for me!

Op @abhi98228 please add this info to the first post :
Try wiping the apps data then re-sign into the app only on the latest alpha version.
Also not everyone will see the new interface due to it being server sided.

Thanks rejoined the alpha group got version .19 and closed the apps and swiped away from recent apps and loaded it back up. Works like its suppose to. Next question how do I get my news feed to be "most recent" instead of "top stories"? I can view most recent by going to the settings Tab then selecting it, but that seems to be a step backwards if you ask me. What happened to the news feed settings?

Yes it does not depend on what app version you have nor what alpha or beta group you are in its just their server that depends on who gets it, my wife is on just the standard play store version and has had then new ui for a month now.

HTC One X not rooted all stock
I was on another stock rom that was giving me some problems with RR's and some things so I flashed another stock T-Mobile debloated rom found here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688981
And now I have this hideous BT wakelock. It's really annoying. I have read a lot about it on the net but just not whether or not there is a fix for it... I don't really want to use an AOSP rom. I like the stability of stock with some exposed additives but this is kinda crazy. Really eats a lot of my battery up...

It sounds like you know what you're talking about. I'm just a little confused. Bluetooth isn't running. It's not even turned on. So, I'm not thinking it's an app. Apparently it's a known issue. I just wonder if anyone has fixed it .. Or how their dealing with it.

It is a bug with in kitkat its self not lg's ui
Download the service disabler app from play store
Open it and go to system apps .. scroll down to bluetooth open it and kill all blue services by clicking them ...
If you end up with any issues with bluetooth not working just revert the diaabled services .
This app works for any serice and is my best friend

I dunno. I asked myself the same question. I charged to 100% and then unplugged and went about 16 hours with about 5 hours screen on time before the phone turned itself off.... Others get better life. With the other kit Kat stock rom I had I went about 18 hours with 5 hours screen on time and had about 20% left.... That rom started random rebooting. Never could figure out why... If I reflash it will remove my TWRP hence why I don't just reflash that one and started using this one....

You can just switch the root access and delete all that you wanted
Thank you so much
Can you please point me to some links about how do I go about installing this. I can get the phone to an adb prompt , and that's just about it.
Also if someone has had lollipop already on his jiayu s3 , it would indeed be very helpful if they posted their experience n terms of what works perfectly and what needs help.
Yes I am rooted and there is something very interesting I found maybe you can check your phone to see the stuffson your discretion

There is a chinese bloatwares called data_ gospel . When I break down the kind of services that runs -see the attached screenshot . They are also suspect. I dont think any of the ought to run. Could you check your phone to see if you got the same thing.

This has been mentioned a few times already. First time, perhaps, on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61141568&postcount=2836.
It is safe to remove.
What it does, nobody knows. If it correlates to the 'easy' app that, some time later, suddenly appeared, nobody knows either.
I do know that, without 'data_ gospel', 'easy' did not come back (yet) on my phone.
Looks like a bunch of Moto apps got updated in the Play Store today...
Moto 3.0.49
Moto Actions 1.11.33
Motorola Boot Services 4.0.0
Motorola Camera 5.0.47.7
Motorola FM Radio 02.00.0045
Motorola Gallery 520012
Handful of new permissions too... Didn't keep track as they went by, just approved them all.
Haven't really noticed any difference yet, probably just bug fixes, but it's only been a little bit.

I did but only after it downloaded the update. I was browsing on the phone while it was downloading and noticed no pictures were showing up in my browser.
While investigating I got the notice that an update was ready. The download really tied up the wifi. It's like the system took that as the priority.
