USB Tethering "internet" gone from notification Bar( Lollipop ) . I am guessing Verizon nixed it to stop PDANET any suggestions looking to stick with stock and not flash
I noticed the same thing. When I plug in the USB cable I no longer see internet connection as one of the available options. What worked for me was to use FoxFI and turn on mobile hotspot and then enable the VPN connection that it uses, this will allow you to bypass the provision check from Verizon. Once that mobile wifi hotspot is turned on go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > More > Mobile Broadband Connect and enable that. This will put it into USB Tether mode. After doing that open up PDA Net and activate the USB tether and you should be good to go.
There is kind of a trick to this. You need to ensure that you enable Mobile Broadband Connect while that temporary VPN connection is happening. When the little key icon is in the notification area. But if you have it opened and in the background you should be able to switch to it using the task manager.

I don't have my USB cable at the moment, but in JACHero 2.0, go to Settings -> Wireless Networks, and scroll all the way down. There's an option for "Mobile network sharing", that says "To enable mobile network sharing, please plug in the USB cable."
If this isn't USB tethering, what is it?
I get unable to turn on. so I guess there's either a bug or needs a fix for now
I have a laptop connected to hotel internet via ethernet cable (Samsung Q330). I'd like to tether my Desire Z to it to share the internet connection (via either wireless or USB).
When I connect the phone to the laptop via USB, and select Internet Passtrough mode, the phone cannot connect to the internet.
In the Network sharing settings on the laptop, ICS settings I've checked the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" box.
What else do I need to do to share the laptop's internet connection with the phone?
Get rid of all of that and install these (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ERN22YCO) drivers.
and enable tethering on your phone via settings>wireless and networks>tethering & portable hotspot
viola!

That looks like a way of sharing the phone's internet connection with laptop -it's the reverse that I want to do (i.e. use the laptop's connection on the phone). Have I misunderstood?

Setup a connection in your win 7 and hook up your phone to that particular network, similar to vpn, where you can connect a handheld to the connection and that connection routes you to internet.

In principle that's what I'm trying to do, but it's the specifics of how to set up the connection in Windows 7 that I was struggling with. Could anyone offer specific advice on what settings are required?
Create an Ad-Hock. This would be pushing your labtop connection out of its WiFi so that your phone can hook up to it.
Open Network and Sharing Center > Setup a new connection or network > Setup a wireless ad hoc
Make the name and security... Bla Bla Bla
U can connect your phone to it now.
Next go back to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings
Double Click on "Local Area Connections" (Your Ethernet Adapter Properties) > Sharing (Tab)
[Check] Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection
Think thats it. Been awhile and im providing this info off the top of my head.
Also if you say want to send your wireless net to your ethernet:
Skip the adhoc part and just go to Adapter settings, pick wireless and enable sharing.

First check the password of wifi teth..
Any also check that your laptops firewall or antivitus settings.....
.
?
.
check wifi config
go to settings>wireless and network settings > tethering and portable hotspot> then enable wifi hotspot
and in portable wifi hotspot settings press configure portable wifi hotspot then change password to what ever you want the put the same pass in your laptop and it should work
if it doesn't just go to settings>wireless and network settings > tethering and portable hotspot>then enable USB tethering and connect your phone to laptop via usb and it should work
if it doesn't just ask someone else
I can do it on my one m7
Go to Settings > More under Wireless and Networks >Tethering & Portable Hotspot. From there, you can enable the WiFi hotspot if your computer supports WiFi, or plug it in with the USB cable and turn on USB tethering if it's a desktop. It should just work. You can get the wifi settings under Set up Wifi Hotspot. You have to have a tethering plan to use this. There are a few options on the market that can get around that restriction.
Hi,
I got the Asus N56 router and would like to extend the wireless range of my Note 3 by having it connected via USB.
I am using the app WiFi Tether Router to generally tether, but it seems I need to enable USB Tethering in system options to have it work with the router. However, this is the official option from T-Mobile so if I enable it, it will use my tether/hotspot limit for the month.
Is there any way I can hide that for USB tethering? Or has the WiFi Tether router any option I miss for that?
Also, I do not need to set the router into AP mode for that, right?
Thanks
