[Q] S4 Value Edition battery life

Recently bought this S4,model I9515,brand new and sim free.When I first turned it on it was on 4.4.2 official kitkat which is also the latest.I’ve rooted it and deleted a lot of samsung crap.Been using it for a few days now,and I noticed that the battery is draining to fast.I attached some pictures so that anybody can tell me if this battery life is ok and Im just being wrong or not.

well with 4 h in screen this seems pretty normal. i get a maximum of 3...
so since i updated my galaxy to to polnish version of 5.0.1 i feel like something is drinking up my battery, i dont have an enormous amount of applications. to describe how tragic is the situation is like if i touch it for some minutes writing some text in facebook mesenger i get a loss of 10% in 20 minutes, even if i dont touch at all my device after 8 hours for example it comes with a loss of 25% in battery. could it be a problem that i charge the phone with an 1000mah charger the problem (i dont have the original cable and charger)? i have already tried to reflash the rom with cleaning everything. i will try to post some real data screenshots from the battery app next days here...

Try to stop everything that is using excenge, like account e-mail from microsoft

Hello .. after i instal an official lollipop using odin i notice that my battery mah drop from oroginal 2600mah to 2100mah i using many programs like aida64 and battery monitor widget and every program told me my battery is only 2100mah and i think the mah is reading from android kernel , i downgrade the phone back to kitkat 4.4.2 and the battery mah reading was correct and back again to 2600 so i think it was a mistake during the install of lollipop so i download the newer firmware available -I9515XXU1BOE3- and upgrade my firmware again but the problem come back again with wrong battery reading only 2100mah, i try to wipe the battery state and make calibration but nothing solved i downgrade the phone and upgrade it again and the problem appear every time ... could any one please help me how to solve this problem ... thanks in advance

Just don't care about how many mah the apps will tell you, the battery is charging anyway. I have a 3100 battery and battery monitor widget tell me 2100, but the phone stays longer than the 2600 battery, so I think that the battery is charging copletelly not only 2100 as the app tells me. Anyway you can change it in the setting of the widget if you want to.

after doing a clean install of the original lollipop rom i m getting back a lot of power. almost 5h on screen usage. Though i almost installed nothing on the handy and i disabled the most of the preinstalled applications. I m really discouraged about this, as it means that the problem is the android system itself... when i compare it with my company handy (iphone 5c) with the same applications and usage its like the half standby and 5c is far away from a up todate iphone ...
I hope we will get 5.1 as in a comparison on my nexus 7 from 5.0.1 to 5.1 it was like the double standby in hours.

Battery drops suddenly to zero then in complete charge

I have Note 4 SM-910C Unrooted international on stock ROM 5.0.1.
my problem started with battery charging to around 80% then stops or take like 5 hours to reach 100% then when I use the phone battery suddenly drops from 20-30% to zero.
if I remove the battery then reinstall it reads 16-18% but may drop back to zero.
when turned off while charged it charges to 100% normally
It is irrespective of charger/cable i use (2mA).
tried hard reset and battery calibrate (non-root) but no good.
Any help with this problem

Sounds like your battery has gone rogue so you might wanna buy a new battery. A great example why not to buy Note 5 lol.
Maybe it's a bug in your rom build so why don't you try and upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1.
I have not used stock roms since the s2 days and after using custom roms I have never looked back.

i have the same problem with my N910F.. at 20% my phone dies.. like today it was 20% dropped to 4% in an instance and then died..
this is happening since upgrading to 5.1.1 (dirty)..
is it possible to fix this with a factory reset ?

Try Battery calibration and battery repair from the store... If it's not doing something, then replace the battery

make sure your battery is fully charged. From dialing interface typing in *#0228# to check battery info and clicked "quick start" at the bottom of the screen, then your battery will drop down quickly, try these steps several times.

Yeah, Samsung has a solution. Buy a new phone as they will never update the 1 year old one even though they ****ed it up...
As much as Iove Note family I am more and more pissed with Samsung and eventually will stop buying their ****.... Already done with their watches by the way...

Definitely a degraded battery problem.
I got a new battery and problem now solved.

Replacement Battery issues

Hey all...
I recently had to replace my Note 4 battery and have found that the battery is not available... It's been replaced with a different part number. The old one is EB-BN910BBU while the new one has been marked EB-BN910BBE...
What's the real difference? I have been struggling with charging it fully as well... Stops right around 89%. I have factory reset to see how it goes but with the new battery it seems to drain awfully quick.
Has anyone else had any issues with finding batteries? OR does anyone know what the difference in the batteries is?

i have 2 original samsung note 4 battery, both are EB-BN910BBE and they have no problems giving me expected battery lifes. you can try reset the fuel gauge by entering *#0228# in dialer and then press quick start, after the phone lids up you charge the phone until 100% and leave it for sometime.. hope it works.

What does resetting the fuel gauge even do? That doesn't make entire sense to me... does it just re-calibrate it?

just resets the reading of the battery, yes its recalibrating but after you did the process dont unplug the charger until it reaches 100% btw is both of your batteries original?

Yes both the new batteries I got are OEM. I have tried to charge the two new batteries to 100% but they don't want to fully charge. I've factory reset my phone and wiped the cache... still no dice. But then the question about the differences between the batteries comes up... IS there a difference between the U battery (which is the old stock battery from when I got the phone) and the E battery (which is the new replacement OEM one...)

I was personally told by Samsung that the U and E are region codes for the batteries designed for different models of the phone. They went further to tell me that getting a battery for a different region phone would have unpredictable and possibly bad results if used in a U.S. branded (U) phone.
The true differences I have no clue and have just started looking this true difference due to my battery is now failing and it is a U battery. Some things I have uncovered is the E variant is suppose to be superior to the U variant however, I keep seeing a pattern for those with 'older' U.S. Note 4s, particularly the AT&T models with poor performance from the E batteries. If it is simply bad luck or actual truth I have no clue. Still looking.

I had the issue buying 3 of the E version on ebay not knowing any difference from china. They worked fine for 6 months then completely died. noticing the original battery was U version and still working I found this link. I can confirm the phone occasionally reboot for no reason about 3 months into using them but since the phone is a couple years old I did not really suspect the batteries at the time.

1. Batteries wear out (slowly) sitting on the shelf. Buying demonstrably NEWly manufactured batteries would be in my opinion the trick to successful battery replacement. Maybe this is a problem for the obsolete Note 4. Bought a "new" battery today... Ad says OEM but is it going to be? And will it have been on a shelf for the past 4 years? Maybe. I will see.
2. Charger issue on an old phone? I do not know about this if it is an issue or not.

Samsung s7 Edge not compatible with os 6.0.1?

Hello guys!.It's my first time here. So, I have some questions regarding this problem
I bought my S7E around july, and it had amazing battery life, It lasted around 30hours++ but I drained the battery by playing games so I can charge my phone before 5pm(my office hours) to avoid over charging when I go to bed. I even used the best perfomance that time, gps on, gestures on, etc.But still at least it lasted for 27hours.Now, it only lasts for about 12 hours something. Ive never overcharged it. The moment I saw the green led, i plugged off the charger.
Can anyone fix this? well please don't tell me to turn off all the features, I had them on and still I got to use 27hours. I dont know when I did the update, maybe os 6.0.1 is draining the battery?or any suggestion?

Go to Settings>Battery and view the usage to see what app is using it much battery.

You can NOT overcharge the battery of your S7 Edge. I've always kept my phones on the charger over night and never had problems. I'm doing that since the HTC Magic (T-Mobile G1). It has overcharge protection. It is NOT good to drain a Lithium-Ion battery down to a few %. A Lithium-Ion battery operates the best when charged >40% and at average room temperature. Nope. I never drain my battery.I keep my battery until 20% then charge it directly. I know how to take care of Lion battery. Ive heard about the overcharging protection feature but i'm not sure whether it works.we never know whether that program runs on background or not since we cant track it.

well,i tracked that down but found nothing.all normal. but still 30hours down to 12 is real problem.

Well, then don't charge overnight. You're problem is most likely software related anyway unless your battery is very old and/or you overstressed the battery too often which can't be because the S7 Edge isn't that old and you "...know how to take care of Lion battery". I think you meant Li-Ion but w/e. A defective battery is possible but very unlikely. BTW overcharge protection is not a program. It's a physical thing soldered onto the battery/charger PCB. Hardware. There's one built into the battery and one inside the charger and of course we can track it. You can't because you probably don't have the equipment + knowledge to test it. If you're so concerned, you should really read about it. After all, you're dealing with a highly reactive metal.

Well that's why i charge my phone at my office:crying:
i wonder if the OS is the problem. I've heard about drivers not compatible on s7 using 6.0.1 so the background data keeps working such as gear vr service. It wasnt there before. and OM Customize. So, if i overstressed my battery, it will damage my battery? I did that before to charge my phone between morning to evening.

You're hearing really weird things buddy The S7 Edge has always been running Android 6.x.x. It never ran any other Android version. The drivers are fully compatible. In fact, the drivers on a Samsung are as compatible as drivers can get, since SoC, Camera Sensor and many other parts of the phone are coming from the same manufacturer; Samsung.
My guess, and I can only guess since we'd have to see your battery stats for more detailed explanations, is that you either ran into the Android System-, or Google Play Services battery drain bug that occurs after an OTA update. These problems date back all the way back to the Galaxy S2.
I'd recommend you first flash a stock ROM using the "HOME_CSC" file. This will NOT wipe anything from your phone. Only the core system and stuff will be reinstalled. If you still have this problem, try flashing a stock firmware using the regular "CSC" file. Always make a backup first. The regular CSC file will WIPE EVERYTHING from your phone, including internal storage but it won't touch you MicroSD. Now you start with a freshly installed Android and see if it solved your problem.

Hello mate,I am sorry for my late reply since I gave up. I am trying to solve this again.
Well, can you tell me where can i get the stock firmware? I am from Indonesia(well I think some parts of the continents have different firmware).I wanted to flash it tho but I am afraid I got some "hacked" firmware.
well,the battery usage looks normal to me.
google play services around 5-15%
android OS 15-20%
android system 15-20%
but still,it drains too much>,<
Let me try to upload a pict of it.
Additional information : Slept 8 hours while listening to music and it drained from 55% to 2%.I mean this is really insane.That's why I am taking serious action now. The first time I bought it with the same settings and apps + I turned on always on display and night clock while listening to the music for 8 hours of sleeping,it only drains 10-20%.

First out of all. How much SOT (Screen On Time) do You get?
To check that go to battery usage at the end of the day or when You have 20% and in battery usage tap on screen and take a screenshot.
Second.
Certain firmware updates decrease battery life a little.
And third.
You can disable apps that are draining Your battery if You don't need them.
Also for a really good battery info what uses Your battery etc You can download GSAM battery monitor from play store.

well from the time being, i think my network operator is draining my battery.I tried to turn off my mobile network last night and used wifi instead.I lost 1% for 8 hours.Well, I changed my network operator around october and since then I felt the battery drain. I already sent report to the provider hope they solve it.
But I wonder, my network operator has good 4g coverage here, why does it drain too much? My old operator had only 3g coverage.Is there any way for me to track down my operator whether they are using too much battery to search network coverage maybe?

first i have an up normal battery drain and when the battery gauge reaches 30% the network signal gone and at 15% it turns off suddenly and if i'm charging the phone turned off it give me a smaller measurement from it shown when the phone turned on and this is the second original battery is
doing after about 1 year what the old one was doing
i tried :
1- battery calibration with *#2280# and the aps on google play
2-same case with many roms
3-the phone now on the stock rom unrooted

You sure its not just bad batteries? I didnt even try to buy a Samsung battery when I recently replaced mine... too many junk knockoffs/used/refurbs. I went with after market. Your issue sounds like a lot of the bad battery stories I read about though. I always charge a new battery with the phone off, and then run down to 1% or 2%. I never use fast charge either

i already bought new one yesterday . things are alright but still one issue : stop charging at 92% or 88%

Where are you getting your batteries, and how are you charging it when you get it? "New to you" batteries doesnt necessarily mean "brand new", and can still be junk
