Hi everyone,
I was using the stock rom lollipop Panama region and it works great, excellent battery life, no lag and the benchmarks like Antutu give me a great score (51000 - 52000) but when I decide root my phone I check that the performance is not the same, for example now the antutu score is 39000-41000, I always think that the root doesn't affect the mobile performance or battery life.
Someone have the same issue? any solution or explanation about this

Hi,
Now a days everyday there is new ROM for Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 released.
It is very difficult for a person to choose one from the list.
So, I started the thread for discussion of ROM & KERNEL Performance, experience, Problems and Troubleshooting advises.
Participate and share your experience for each ROM you use.
Submit your Quadrant Score with ROM & KERNEL Details.
Thanks & Regards,

Doctorz ROM
I am using Doctorz ROM which I found very good and stable with good inbuilt applications
1. What is KERNAL?
2. Why use Quadrant to measure performance?
Sent from my GT-I9000
KERNEL is a bridge between applications and the actual data processing done at the hardware level
Quadrant Standard is used for measuring performance of android mobile.
sry but by using quadrant to verify a rom speed you are disqualifying yourself
i din't say quadrant used to verify rom speed. I told that it is a standard for measuring Android mobile speed. being specific quadrant is benchmark for mobile performance for data writing, reading, 2D, 3D, etc.
I included quadrant in this post as the quadrant scores are different from rom to rom due to its data processing ability.
Quadrant is a random number generator, useless. there are other bench tools around but i dont really care about those tools. as long as my SGS performs for me fast and smooth i dont care about any bench results.
JVT kernels are similar to each other. so suggest Semaphore, Galaxian or TalonDev. me using last one.
JVT rom is up to you and your theme choice. all are fast and smooth. the more its customized the more problems you can get. I use almost stock. all working great and fast even battery life is good.
Hey all,
Since we've all been trying a lot of custom roms, I've been wondering what kind of benchmarks you're achieving.
I've been using Antutu and I'd say I average around 2800-2900 with my top benchmark being 3210. I know there's folks who say this means nothing but I'm kinda curious anyhow if you want to share.
I am running darky rom 10.4.2 I got 2670 on antutu
at stock cpu speed.
this is a post for SiV users to leave benchmark scores, il update the op with daily new highscores, for the haters, battery life isnt an issue when i have a plug, and benchmarks matter to me
Highest score
25086
ROM..................stock i9505
KERNEL............stock
PATCHES.........none
INFO............1.9ghz X4 performance
please leave a description of ROM and Kernel and what ever patches you have set up, with cpu, governor, sd-cache, i/0 scehduler profile etc etc......
thanks in advance,
i just beat the octo core version on 3d graphics on antutu , but only that category lol
here' mine
all stock, unrooted, I9505XXUAMDF
my results , all stock
My best Antutu score on Stock Rom is: 26003
Hey Guys,
ive tested my LG G2 with Stock KitKat on it with Antutu and 3DMark. The results was really OK.
31.000 points in Antutu and about 15.000 points in 3DMark.
Now im running PardusHD-Rom, by the way its an awesome Rom, runs really smooth, fast and stable.
But the Benching Results are really bad, i know that benching ist not the real, but im asking why this happens:
With the Pardus HD Rom and the integrated Kernel i get about 16000 points in Antutu and 12000 points in 3DMark.
Anyone know why this is and how it could be fixed?
The fix is to stop eating your time on benchmarks and use your device, their pointless and a waste of time

I know what you mean, and the rom & kernel works fine but there must be a reason why for example in antutu the last scene runs with 35fps with this rom & kernel, and with more then 50fps with stock?!
I dont matter the result points, i just want to test if the apps and games are working fast like stock, with same fps.
Is there maybe another way to test that?
Hey Fellas,
i fugured out what the reason for the bad results is: The governor in the Kernel.
It was set to ondemand, this is why the rom&kernel worked fine but the results in benching apps wasnt good.
Tried it with governor setting hyper and a little oc and see there,
Now i know that everything is ok with soft and hardware, now i will go and deinstall the benching software and get back to ondemand.
2 Thumbs up for the PardusHD Rom and the D... Kernel that comes with it.
Hello,
Short story: On 5.0.1 (bob4 or boc3) the 3d score in antutu is about 7k. On 4.4.4 I get over 15k. Even in 3dmark I get 20k on 4.4.4 and 11k on lolipop.
In some games (like asphalt 8) I see a struttering (But I can't see a difference between lolipop and kitkat performance).
I heard that is a gpu bug that lock the freq. to 350mhz, it's true?
would also like to know about this as i am planning to get the exynos version too

It is a known bug in current lollipop build (bob4, boc3), for some reason phone is stuck in power saving mode. Use kitkat for better performance, lollipop for better visual experience.
Still I don't understand why this issue is random??? I asked a few users on another forum and they don't have this bug.
Had the same issues here:
1st lollipop antutu scores - 49k (overall), 16k (3d)
2nd and ahead lollipop antutu scores - 39-42k (overall), 7.5k (3d).
I have no idea why it changed.
I have the exynos variant.
I'm running the new boc5 lollipop and getting 51,432 on antutu

It's not really a bug, but a more conservative throttle-threshold. You can easily test this out by putting your phone somewhere cold for about 5 minutes and then running the benchmarks. The problem is though that in BOB4/BOC3 the throttle level was just way too conservative which caused games like asphalt 8 not to run at speeds greater than 350Mhz. This was solved in BOC5, so just update if you want KItKat level performance.

I have no boc5 for my country. Is this a custom rom or official update?

BOC5 is an official rom yes. You can usually find the official ROMs in the general section.
And you could give me a link to some as a good custom rom, or officially, because I tried one BOC5, but still had a problem with efficiency.
