[Q] Just bought a new Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000

Ok i've recently bought a new samsung galaxy tab GT-P1000 in england, its unlocked to all networks, running froyo xwjj3, i absolutely love it, it meets all my needs perfectly,
now i'm fairly new to the android world, ive been a devout iphone owner for years but figured it was time for a change, i had a good understanding of the "jailbreaking" world of the iphone but i'll be honest and say the android world of ROMs totally throws me off, like for instance is there a ROM which will make tab any better or faster? themes that maybe make use of its larger screen?
basically what i'm asking for is any type of help that u think would be useful to a rookie, apps and games, anything that can make full use of my lovely new machine?
also on a side note, i have an Orange Livebox router in my house and my samsung connects with it fine only after i press the wifi button on the box and then suddenly drops the signal at any specific time, what could be the cause of this?

A lot of us share your love to the Tab and motivated to make it even better.
If Tab meets your current needs you might not need any modifications. The easy way is just following Samsung notifications about available updates and simply enjoy your Tab.
If you want to be on the edge of XDA development and ready to take risk of testing latest releases of firmware you need to go through reading of the Development forum.
It might be a lot of reading but it would save your from frustration when something goes wrong.
Luckly, development is in very good state right now and your can choose fast firmware that is tested enough for everyday use.

to update the tab you will need kies (which sucks)

Just read a few threads in the development section here , I was a complete novice not long ago , I now have a custom kernal + rom and my device is rooted. Some of the roms are better but jj7 is just fine - you can update officially from jj3 using kies as its genuine samsung software
For nice themes grab adw launcher from the market and then add some themes for it... google is your friend

thats the thing tho, i have been reading up and looking, from what i can gather 90% of the customs roms on the samung galaxy tab are for non UK users who want to make phone calls from there device, we can already do that in the UK so what types of ROMs are beneficial to us?
also ive heard launcher pro is better for the galaxy tab rather adw launcher, is that true?

[Q] Galaxy S5 Dialer APK?

I know that all the Dev's are very busy. I appriatiate all of the hard work you guys put in on the projects. I have an S4. Can someone please provide the S5 dialer and any other files that may be needed. Or point me to the right post if already asked. Thanks again for the work!

I would also love this. I bought the S5 and well sold it because i don't see the big value in it. The only thing i did love was the software. Most of it has been installed on my stock 4.4.2 rooted s4. I love it. The only thing that is outstanding is the nicer dialer on the S5. It looks more slick and shows you the previous communication of the caller and the time. If I can just get that my S4 is more than enough till the Note 4 gets released. Plzzzzzz

Note 3 , Note 2 or S4 Active

currently running a Moto X locked bl , pretty boring as smartphones go , my Note i717 is also still active , but i really cant stand being locked down , I actually had a Note 2 , but a long story I dont want to go into about Samsung and my ex anyway , I nevr got to use it, should I go straight to the Note 3 , Note 2 or S4 (no s5, no contracts for me ) , I want the phone that is most accessable to recovery and roms and just having fun , , safestrap is interesting ,but seems irratating as well , like you dont actually have complete control , I may be wrong , anyway , , can the N3 or N2 for that matter , be rid of the bs (clean roms ,etc ) , I dont know might just stay with my i717 , its still rocks and I can change it to damn near anything

I will probably not be as active in the Tab 2 forum anymore. I recently got a Tab Pro and am using the tab 2 as a clock for now. I will sometimes come back here to help people troubleshoot or to update my clock, but I won't be here too often. Thank you all for the assistance you gave me 3 years ago rooting my tablet and flashing my 1st ROM.
If I get some more free time, I could start making ROMs for the tablet since I wouldn't lose much if I brick it somehow. @Android-Andi or anyone else, if you need someone to test something for the Tab 2, please PM me.
Btw, TouchWiz has gotten better since the Tab 2. I just wish samsung would update this thing to Lollipop eventually. Multi window is quite nice

A5 or S4 black edition

Hello Everyone , i have a little question , i want to buy a new smartphone
a have a choice between S4 value edition or A5
For the s4 Black edition I already had and I sold it , it's a good smartphone
for the a5 I fear that the battery fails and she's not removable

I would say S4. Theres a lot more developer support and its a good phone.

Look It's a matter of perspective really it comes down to what you are looking for... If you are into rooting, tweaking and using custom roms then s4 is the way to go but if you want something solid and genuinely faster than the s4 the A5 is your thing and to be honest the A5 seems to get a lot of attention lately . If you choose to go with the A5 be sure to buy the model which is right for you and has some development going. Cheers

I run aicp on my a500fu and its a good phone. Not to much development but enough for me. Also I get an average of 5hr+ sot, best is 6hr 49m.
