Hey everyone!
I bought this phone last Christmas on LightInTheBox.
This is all what I can find on my phone (software and hardware):
- HDC Note 3
- Type behind battery: n9002
- Model (what android tells me): U9000
- Runs on android 4.3
- Kernel dates from 3 Decembre 2013
- CPU-type: MT6589 quad core
- ROM: 8Gb
- RAM: 1Gb
- Dual SIM
So I'm having a few troubles I really can't seem to be able to solve:
- When phone is on Edge (E) it constantly locks by itself (goes to lockscreen).
- Can't change the background of the lock screen, there is no function built-in to change this.
- When I go to settings > check for software update it always tells me: there's is no new version but I also get a pop-up screen at the same saying 'failed connecting to the internet' so that clearly doesn't work either.
Can anyone help me solve these problems? Or is there a newer ROM avaiable (link ?) because I can't seem to find one for this specific phone.
Thanks everybody
In case you didn't notice, this is a original Note 3 forum, not a fake note 3 forum.

This is the difference between a REAL Galaxy Note 3 and the chinese knockoff.... If you bought it as a Note 3 thinking it was real, I'm sorry to say you were had. Hopefully it was only around $250US as that is what it's worth from a lot of sites.
Unfortunately though as you bought a knockoff you can't use any of the Note 3 firmwares, roms, recoveries or method to update/root or modify it....
The only thing you might be able to do, and it's a long shot, check with the site/shop you bought it from and see if they will give you an update, though I wouldn't hold my breath...

Ah damnit! Didn't notice I posted it in the wrong section .
But yeah, I am well aware of the fact that I have bought a knockoff! 750 € is a ridiculous amount of money for a phone, that's why i decided to buy this one. Thx anyway for the reply..
Greets!

Hallo.
Just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from an e-Bay trader. I think the dealer has a Chinese seat but the phone was shipped from England.
Please have a look at the photos. I also have a box of the original Polish version. It is in both cases the Exynos variant: SM-N910C.
The boxes are slightly different in the color of the printing: Polish ink is slightly darker than the new variant. On the back side of the package the dubious box has "WiFi Certified" instead of "HD Voice", which is labeled on the Polish box. Everything else is equal.
If the device is nominally a SM-N910C model, however it is sold for the Arabic market, can I assume that this device still is technically strictly equivalent to the variant for the European market never the less? Could it be that different or inferior components are used for different Markets? Does Samsung use different tolerances for different markets? Or is the device absolutely identical to the European variant?
Is there a way to check whether this device is an original Samsung Note 4 without opening the box?
Thanks for the hints!
You could watch a youtube video over the fake differences with the clones.
Just boot into download mood
take a look here, and fill out the IMEI nr

In which country is the Note 4 being produced? I know that the Polish Variant of the Model SM-N910C is produced in Vietnam. My Model is produced in China however. So is it a fake or is the Note 4 being produced in both countries? How does the SM-N910C from Vietnam differ from the SM-N910C from China? Are they technicaly identical? Is one country better" than the other? Are there different parts and tolerances being used?
Note 4's are being produced in vietnam and china....The ones being produced in china are not fake (in my country we get 910c which is made in china under official warranty). You can download an app called "phoneinfo" from playstore it will tell you whether you have a genuine samsung phone or not. The 910C being made in china and Vietnam are identical and have no difference.....no quality preference i have seen many phones from both countries. However this is my personal opinion and experience, a senior member may guide futhur on "different parts and tolerances" being used.
Dont worry about the box. In my country some people import brand new phones and ask the sellers to send phone and accessories only. They do this to avoid custom duty (which is levied on new phones only) so they pose as if they are importing a used phone. Then the use a locally made clone box to sell the phone.....the phone itself and the accessories are mostly original.
If the s-pen works while hovering above the screen then it's a real note 4.
If you turn it on, you will see right away the on the screen.
Replicas will never have SAMOLEDs and you will see right away the difference in colors and they are so obvious.
The Polish C-version, which is manufactured in Vietnam and no doubt original, has an internal memory of 24,65GB (according to Kies and Windows). The new Arabic C-version, which has been manufactured in China, has an internal memory of 24,57GB (again, according to Kies and Windows). Could this be a sign for a fake phone or are such minor differences and fluctuations normal and due to the manufactoring process?
CPU Z and Phone Info show absolutely identical hardware, only the internal memory is slightly smaller in the China-manufactured device. The China-version is slightly faster in the Antutu and Geekbench benchmarks however. So, can I now finally and definitly be SURE that the nev, China-made Note 4 is an original, genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C and is definitly NOT a fake ?
Hmm .. Could all you Note 4 owners write here which version you have, where it was manufactured and how big the internal memory is.
Many many thanks!
P.s.: Where is the N910F (Snapdragon-Version) being produced?

Yes, just instal free "Phone Info" from play store, we'll know it fake or not.
FYI: It's definitly original.. Best way to find out is the Antutu Officer..
Other possibility:
- (Samsung) Phone Info
- CPU-Z
- KIES

Hello,
I just purchased an Redmi Note 3 Pro - 3GB 32GB Qualcomm (it's not here yet, somehow I managed to order from one of the slowest retailers on earth geekb*ying) - probably not in stock even though it said it was, they seemed to get good reviews on resellerratings, (however after contacting their live help, the offered to throw in free gift if I left good feedback on another similar review site-who would refuse right?), so I completely lost confidence in the resellerratings since they could of been bribed reviews too, now I am nervous since it hasn't shipped out yet and it's been 4 days-- and I paid them 180~ usd with paypal- I will wait another week or so before pursuing a refund or pp dispute...
so anyways assuming I wasn't ripped off
As soon as I get this device I want to root it so I can install AFWall+ to block unwanted internet traffic, and that needs root support so I am pretty confused with the models I see
the Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi Note 3 Pro
the Redmi Note 3 only has a 13MP camera and the pro has a 16MP and I also know there is the Mediatek variant
So if anyone could be nice enough to explain how to unlock the bootloader and the correct twrp version for the Pro snapdragon variant of this device.
I also won't have any cellphone access on this device (just wifi) so I hope the unlock method won't require some kind of cell connection, I will probably install a custom firmware down the road once I get used to the device and do a few updates, so any ideas on that would be great too.
http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#438 < is this the correct offical firmware for this device, I notice it says Note 3 but no Pro...I'm confused -
this is my first xomai device.
Ok think I figured the models out,
Pro = Snapdragon, kenzo
Standard = MT6795 Helio X10, hennessy
if that's correct then I still need info about unlocking and the best CM13 rom (where everything works)
I am still in overload with all the codewords and models and threads / old threads / development roms / MUI / global / chinese roms ..etc
official bootloader unlock u need a phone number (doesnt mather witch one or who)
cause u need to ask permision at xioami and they will send a code via sms (and u need to use the same account on phone as you asked permision afcorse)
1. Is it genuinely best to buy it this year? (Because, its OS is old so there might be problems in the updates, like some part or the whole mobile not working properly or some apps not responding properly to the updates etc.)
2. Furthermore, after warranty period, will it be easy to get it serviced or replace its parts if required? (Because it is an old model and still I didn't get the info after my searches whether it is discontinued or not. Because, if it is discontinued then it might be a problem).
3. I want to connect either 1TB or 2TB SSD to it. So, will it function properly without hanging or slow speed? (Of course, I'll connect the SSD to a power bank). (I am not expecting look and build from the mobile but a best and speedy performance in any scenario).
the mobile is good if you want to enjoy the pen functionality and removable battery feature. The phone is still fast enough. you will get the security updates but will not get the os updates.. if you are going to buy it, for another 2 more years you can use it without any worry. dont know if you can connect 2 tb ssd.
If you get one for a good price. I would not pass it up.
Once you go note you can't go back. I got a 2nd for 250$NZD that's like ($180us) flashed every rom on here multiple times(exynos) , now it's a daily on nemesis with prime kernel. No finger print function but it's practically a note 7
From what I am remember I've had class 10 SD cards die the most
These are usually high capacity, Been through 3x class 10 (2x64 1x32)in under a year, I think high capacity SD your asking for trouble, one drop, bung
I stick with 16gb SD ive had for over 4 years even a4gb I've had for even longer
my advise is very simple : go for Note 5
You should still be able to find brand new models of the Note 4 for a excellent price if you shop around for them online. The Note 4 is still a good device however it isn't as secure as most current android devices.
Note 5 don't have replacing battery ,you must go to service to change it.
You can go to GSM arena and compare Note 4 with all Samsung series and you will see that Note 4 have all hardware like this new models from 2018 ,on some model Note 4 have better hardware.
I buy second time this year Note 4 ,learn how to root ,flash Resurrection rom with 8.1 Android and have everything that have all new phone today's. From the look, from the icon,system..Everything..
Also you can use Substratum theme to add even more look and change it how you wants to your phone look.
Its just amazing that my phone 4years old support and have hardware to support all newest systems from today.
