Hey everyone!
I bought this phone last Christmas on LightInTheBox.
This is all what I can find on my phone (software and hardware):
- HDC Note 3
- Type behind battery: n9002
- Model (what android tells me): U9000
- Runs on android 4.3
- Kernel dates from 3 Decembre 2013
- CPU-type: MT6589 quad core
- ROM: 8Gb
- RAM: 1Gb
- Dual SIM
So I'm having a few troubles I really can't seem to be able to solve:
- When phone is on Edge (E) it constantly locks by itself (goes to lockscreen).
- Can't change the background of the lock screen, there is no function built-in to change this.
- When I go to settings > check for software update it always tells me: there's is no new version but I also get a pop-up screen at the same saying 'failed connecting to the internet' so that clearly doesn't work either.
Can anyone help me solve these problems? Or is there a newer ROM avaiable (link ?) because I can't seem to find one for this specific phone.
Thanks everybody
In case you didn't notice, this is a original Note 3 forum, not a fake note 3 forum.

- Samsung Galaxy Note 3
- Model SM-N9005
- CPU Type Qualcom MSM8974
- Rom 16Gb - 32Gb
- Ram 3Gb
This is the difference between a REAL Galaxy Note 3 and the chinese knockoff.... If you bought it as a Note 3 thinking it was real, I'm sorry to say you were had. Hopefully it was only around $250US as that is what it's worth from a lot of sites.
Unfortunately though as you bought a knockoff you can't use any of the Note 3 firmwares, roms, recoveries or method to update/root or modify it....
The only thing you might be able to do, and it's a long shot, check with the site/shop you bought it from and see if they will give you an update, though I wouldn't hold my breath...

Ah damnit! Didn't notice I posted it in the wrong section .
But yeah, I am well aware of the fact that I have bought a knockoff! 750 € is a ridiculous amount of money for a phone, that's why i decided to buy this one. Thx anyway for the reply..
Greets!

Hre said that this is a sort of DEMO version, used in show rooms ....demonstrations ....!?

I dont see any reason why you wanna buy a demo version of the phone since some features are limited and I m sure its not gonna be less than $500.And you can insert sim in demo versions,so I dont know what he is talking about.
I sense hoax in this deal,be careful!
thanks

first of all, thanks for your contribution
the interest is just to understand how this proposal can be "dangerous" ; on the base of your reply I understand :
a) it is true that some " demo version" could exist
b) it could be not interesting if the price level is near 500 USD
now , few additional question
c) could even be really " without GSM module" ( = could be a completely different HW vs the last version..?) ; I wrote that it has the slot for the sim card , But I would precise that this " seller" told me that it is not working !
d) could it be a SW limited version , so maybe an upgrade could unlock the GSM part ?
e) could this be a reasonable risk vs the low price of 280 € ( approx 350 USD ?)
thanks again

Demo versions are nothing but the versions received by retailers to display the model to the customers and its never meant for buying!
No,Note 3 does not come with Wifi versions only, although it has a slot for Sim but since its regional locked you cant use it in imported countries but you can unlock it but why risk it all?
I would suggest you to buy a new Galaxy note 3.
And its alright!
The galaxy s4 demo version has a sim slot but didn't have the hardware to support cellular network

Its probably a fake Note 3 with a Mediatek cpu made by HDC mate. look on google for HDC Galaxy Note 3 N9002 MTK6589T. Look on the box for Samsung stickers, in the bootscreen animation for Samsung and model name and on the battery if it says Samsung.

SM-N9002 version is the version of Note 3 that is with two sim, right? ... why you say note 3 dual sim doesn't exist? Or i just missunderstood

There are many fake Samsung devices in China, sometimes you have to look hard to see if its a genuine device. The price of the device could be indication, look for the Samsung name on the Battery, in the bootanimation you should see Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9002 and look in settings/about phone/device info/ for info. Just saying to be carefull and make sure you get the right one

Hey guys, a buddy of mine bought a Rose Gold Note 3 while he was in Korea and now is selling it. I am thinking about buying it off of him even though it is not compatible with LTE here in Canada.
My main concern though is if the phone can be rooted and if there is a variety of Roms that can be put on it. I base my buying decision on this with every phone I get.
Is this phone considered different to the development community than say an American Note 3? Will this cause a seperation in the Rom development?
The phone runs a Snapdragon 800 and not the Exynos.
Thanks a ton guys!
ps. Would you get this phone over the M8?
What is the model of the phone? For example the international version is called SM-N9005, please answer this so we can help you out

Take a look here if you want it rooted/custom ROM'd/modded. This is the main thread for Korean Note 3s. I'm pretty sure if he didn't update it often you can still use towelroot.

I wouldn't even get a Note 3 at this point dude. Wait for the new Nexus or Note 4....
Hello,
my dad is thinking about buying note 3 n9006 variant, n9005 is also an option, but price difference in our contry is huge. About 150€+ between these models. From specs I can see that only difference is internal memory, and it's ridiculous to pay that much just for extra 16GB. So I'm wondering is there any other major differences between these two models? For ex. camera quality, display quality, and overall quality of the phone.
Any input would be appreciated.
9006 China dual sim .
9005 International version .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574886
Samsung SM N9006 is not only dual sim , I have this phone and is the single SIM variant, difference between the two phones is the model 9006 comes without the Play Store installed.
Thanks for replys. After reading whole thread @JJEgan pointed me to, we went to check our local seller that had the phone, and after checking it, I'm pretty sure it was one hell of a good clone, so we've given up on buying it.

In my country, no. Official samsungs resellers do not have Note 3 in stock and will not getting any of it. In some other stores there's a used ones, and "new" ones which appears to be clones.
If the screen was Super Amoled, which is not hard to check, then it wasn't a clone...
Im planning to upgrade my 4 years old LG Optimus G AT&T.
I was thinking of buying used Galaxy S6 or new Xiaomi Mi5, but there was another phone that im interested in, Note 4. Its dual sim N9100 version.
The box is on chinese so i guess its for chinese region.
Does this phone supports newest android? Are there any problems with this model? Can anyone tell me what score is this phone getting in antutu and geekbench?
Used galaxy s6 - 310e
New xiaomi mi5 - 290e
New note 4 dual sim n9100 - 300e

This post is over a year old lol
But if I may say, Galaxy Note FE is terribly over-priced. You can buy an S8 with that money and have some left over, and the S8 has a prettier design than what the Note 7 (FE) had
