Ugh!
Installed a spigen wet screen protector and now condensation on the INSIDE of the front camera. It was not even that wet. So much for the waterproof video... mine must have a leak.
Had it for 6 hrs...
Pics or it didn't happen! [emoji57]

How does that happen?
Warranty will cover this for sure, don't yell a word about screen protector to them.
You can also try dryer.

So maybe a gentle back and forth with a hair dryer and the steam could escape through the grill?
Just put the phone in rice for a couple hours, and you'll be good.
Thanks guys, I will try the rice tonight.
And definitely do warranty if that doesn't work, because that will be covered, don't mention screen protector (TAKE IT OFF BEFORE YOU GO IN) and be careful of hair dryer so you don't accidentally overheat or cause some other damage to speaker or sensors that would be troublesome to you or warranty down the line. I work for a mobile carrier, trust me, this should be an easy replacement as long as the water indicator sticker isn't red or pink.

Ah, thank you! I'm assuming you used one of those screen protectors that you get wet before applying? Side question: How difficult was it to apply on the screen? I'm horrible with screen protectors that aren't tempered glass and I think I'll have problems with this phone.

Let me know how it goes! I've got the same thing, and I'm afraid to do a wet screen protector install. I usually have Best Buy do it for me, but they don't have any products for sale and they won't do it with the screen protector I bring them.
Glad the rice worked out for you..

I'm in the same boat as you. Although they're getting Edge screen protectors on 4/3 so that might be an option. I don't think I feel comfortable doing it myself after this.

all you need is 2 mist squirts of water, it takes very little water to get the film to stick. in any case, no need to panic, i wouldn't worry it will evaporate in a few hours.
I have the same problem what way did you leave the phone facing in the rice and for how long?
That's an easy fix. Just use a hair dryer and blow into the top little vent and you'll be able to watch it disappear

It has only recently started peeling but have had it since November.
The cover can be replaced but it is not that cheap from what I can find.
Same here, mine is half peeled now.. like paint flakes.. =/

No peeling on my 6mo old T9193. No pouch or any cover, either.
No problems with my battery cover. I did order a new one though, because I want to try to drill a small hole and slot in it to be able to soft reset my HD2 when necessary and take out the SD card without having to remove the battery cover

holy crap! that is hideous! good thing is that after it all wears down, you still have a brushed metal surface underneath.... now unless that begins to shed after the next few months....
here's mine. pictured with phone itself under terrible light.. but you can see..
damn how can i get one of these in Slovenia we don't have our ebay and shipment from US or UK costs more than actual price of cover :S
i'm even thinking of doing the chrome look on it but with real chrome, i know some people who can do that. But i'm not shure about aluminium..
any suggestions?
Christ!!!!
That's looks like someone rubbed their behind with it, then rubbed it in sand, dropped it in acid and is now well on it's way to be driven over by a truck!
Damn Son... that is bad. You really shoud give HTC a piece of your mind. That obviously looks like it might have been defective, unless you really took it to town.

These are quite expensive. I'm sure you can find much cheaper alternatives on eBay. Better yet, take it down to a car garage that does repainting. I'm sure they'll be willing to give you a show quality finish.
While I am installing IPG to my phone, side of my battery is peeling off Because I think the guard did not stick very well and I tear wear too many times.
You could always try and have a silver finish to your cover like ive done

Does your SGS3 have a gap down the left hand side of the screen?
Is dust building up in it?
If so, post a photo, if you can
I am returning my first SGS3 today as there is a gap between the glass and the casing.
Dust is building up in it and it looks rather unsightly.
I was just wondering if it's just me or not.
Can you see the line of dust down the left side of the screen?

OP are you sure its not a HOX you're using? ;-P
I have got another one, but im afraid its still the same.
To be sure, I'll have to have it for a few days and see if any dust accumilates in it.
I looked at another one in phones4u and the screen is perfectly alligned.
Dont have it. Take some tooth brush and clean it.

I just ran my nail along the gap and managed to dig out the few flakes of dust in there, so a toothbrush should work fine.
afaik all the samsung mobiles i have used had micro gaps, its the way it is designed. cant notice the gap in s3 as it is white, but it will have it surely.
btw the micro gap is required to absorb the shocks. else all the shock will reach out the screen easily.
The problem I have is that on the left side the gap is quite substantial. Where as there is no gap at all on the right side.
It's like the whole glass part it too far over to the right.
I have seen another blue S3 at Phone 4u and there it an equal gap on either side; so I know for sure there is a problem with this batch at the 3 store.
My white one has no such gap. At least nothing I can discern anyway...

I thought there was one, it is moving slightly. But guess that's good, firmness bad for drops.
It is also an optical illusion! Depending on the lighting angle. Does it look like a big gap on the left? Flip the phone upside down, the gap is still on the left it doesn't flip. Not worried now after noticing it, you had me for 20sec.

My 22-month old Captivate's camera lens has a single scratch on it (which doesn't show in photos because it's luckily offset), so I'm guarding my S3 like a hawk.
What worries me, is that unlike the Captivate's RECESSED camera lens, which provides a little fundamental protection, the SGS3's sticks out a bit. If you don't use a case to protect the lens a bit, then it seems much more scratch prone. Seems more scratch-prone even if you DO use a case, really.
Here's a pic of my Captivate's camera lens taken with my S3. The scratches on the plastic above the lens might;ve landed on the lens if it wasn't recessed.

I might consider putting a "protector" on the lens, but it'd probably reduce image quality, so, probably better idea to pry it off and replace it if scratched.
why is there NO case that has some sort of cover that flips over or slides over to protect the camera lens? I always just used a piece of scotch tape. But that is of course a crap ssolution and needs to be re-done every week or two. I never understood why NO cases I have seen offer this? Especially for a popular phone like the S III?

Probably because the VAST majority of people can't tell the difference between a clear photo and one taken with a lens covered in fingerprint grease and scratches. Or if they can, they don't give two ****s.
Also, dummies would still forget to "take the lens cap off" and blame anyone but themselves for missing magic moments.

Seidio makes a couple of cases that have exactly what you're looking for. Was just looking at them last night. Flap folds down to take pictures then back when you're done. I almost got one, but I think it'll make the phone too thick. Go to seidioonline.com if you want to check it out.

Anyone mod a screen protector yet to cover their camera lens? I may try this as my first case comes with a screen protector which i wont be using. :good:
Hi all,
I doubted that some water leaked under my screen, near the bottom right. The screen is 100% functional, but I can find a small piece of triangle-shaped shadow if I am careful enough and the screen is off. When the screen is lit, the shadow can hardly be found. I thought it was water because I once poured a little water on the screen to clean it.
But I become unsure after I read the thread Nexus 7 water damage?:
Water should not be able to get under the screen as it is all fused into a single unit. There is only one piece of glass and everything is laminated on to that. There should be no gaps or air pockets for the water to get into.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the screen of my Nexus7? Any help will be appreciated.
P.S.: I do not apply any screen protector to my Nexus7.
Edit:
I try to put my nexus 7 in dry rice but it doesn't help
I manage to take some photos, and under a strong light, I finally got some photos to help illuminate my problem.

Hope that I can find a solution to clear the shadow. Any suggestion?
1 - How stupid that you tipped water onto your screen anyway !!!
Get a micro-fibre cloth and some solution to clean it, don't just tip water on it sheesh !!
2 - I doubt that it would be water, a picture would be useful?

Thank you for your reply.
Actually, I do use a micro-fibre cloth and special detergent for screen, but accidentally sprayed more than expected one day...
I am afraid you can't find anything from a picture, since the shadow is quite thin. I tried to take some photos, and failed to find the shadow on the photos.
Ah, I have to mention that when I use a micro-fibre cloth to make the screen wet, the shadow becomes obvious.

If you are sure its liquid, and its annoying you mate. The only thing I can really suggest is put it in a bowl of dry rice.
Hopefully that will draw the moisture out from where it came in.

Nope, after i tested something i saw that it dont made a difference if i take original or third party . On both batterys the diplay getting pressed out. I tryed glue stripes for phones bjt dont work . So i have my phone without back cover into a secure case
Did you disassemble the glass of digitizer to use these stripes? I ordered a kit on eBay; an UV lamp, LOCA glue and some hypodermic syringe to try put a little bit of glue under the glass. Maybe it gonna work that way. Which battery you talking about?

Dude, this is the same battery...
Hi again! Thank you for helping so far.
I'd like to disassemble original glass with a heater and put some new LOCA glue. Do I need to clean glass/lcd after disassembling it? I mean old glue must be completely off, huh?
I bought LOCA glue and a UV lamp from eBay. Is that lamp any good ? I just got it but seen some movie about applying LOCA glue and they got much bigger and probably much better UV lamp than mine and wondering if mine will be fine though?
Tried to do it yesterday but failed. I think the glass was still attached to the LCD and it was some glue holding it to the frame. Anyway, screen is partially broken now and I'm wondering if I should just buy a new one and replace it or just go for OnePlus 3T or 5.
