I just installed android 5.0.1 (Boc3) on my N910CQ and everything works fine and feels like butter
except one thing:recent apps section. Its not the recent apps button but scrolling in the card stack and closing apps is lags so much.I didint find anything like that in the web
Do anyone else experiencing the same issues as i am ?
Thanks
I'm actually having the same problem. Recent apps button lags and the interface itself within the recent app list is a bit laggy too.

Anyone could help us
Same here. I even replaced my default launcher with Nova. UI is now a bit faster than before (still noticeable lags) but the recent apps still lags too much. Same as closing recent apps. Mine is N910C
Same.. Downgraded to KK. 5.0.1 update is the worst update I think
I never had any lag on my device, pure stock.
I'm however using the F model on 4.4.4.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Man i have the same problem here it seems that the phone is always in power saving mode and the gpu is limited to 350 mhz instead of 700 mhz. Also the cpu runs at 1.3 ghz instead of 1.9 for the big cores thats why it has low score in antutu hope somebody figures out a solution and also this is a bug in this update

hi there,
i wrote a mail to tegrak, yet didn't get a reply whether he's planning to implenet support for the kernel on i9505 devices.
>>has anybody of you overclocked his s4? if yes, how?
No why would u need to overclock ?? antutu bragging ??
Even if he implements it in his app the stock kernel doesn't support it anyways.
Wait for some custom kernels which allow for over clocking I'd say.

nope, because of the annoying lags for example when returning to homescreen or when scrolling in different apps or system settings or stock browser. on my note2 i used to lock gpu clock to highest 533mhz and there were no more lags, everything "buttery".
currently on xxuamdn using nova launcher.
hope the scrolling will be more fluently with further updates. where are the benefits of "project butter"?
anybody else experiencing lags and craving at least for a gpu lock? =)

yeah, thats what i tried, also turning off. but it doesn't help. still lagging. think thats the software..
even my s2 and note2 had way less lags. impossible that the s4 has - with double powerful processor..
so waiting for new samsung update. or wanamlite or sth like that..

oh, not mentionable: on my note2 i was undervolting the cpu (except the both highest ghz-rates) and overclocking gpu. still had 6-7 hours screen on time and with normal use 50% batterydrainage per day.

Any news so far? Overclocking of GPU is interesting always, and some boost to CPU may let you view some Hi10P videos.

There is new firmware released all the time (particularly whilst the device is new). Custom ROM Devs normally use the newest as a base (if stable), so you'll have a choice of upgrading official stock manually via Odin, custom via CWM -or- wait for official release for your region.
If you wait for regional release, it could be a while, but flashing an international or other newer release will usually have a higher Samsung changelist with many bug fixes, performance and stabilty fixes.
Just break free of official, and enjoy the freedom

I believe XXUAME2 is newer, I have read how it includes a fix for the "micro-lag" some (all?) devices suffer from.
Hello
I have Nexus 7 32Gb 3G with stock Android 4.2.2. I have viewed a lot of video on YouTube where guys have defaults maximum graphic settings and no lags in gameplay. I bought GTA Vice City 1.03 in Google Play now and see only about ~50% graphic settings and lags when I set settings to maximum. How can it be? What I am doing wrong? Or my Nexus 7 is broken?
Thank you for any help.
They have probably rooted and over clocked their device. I did that too but tegra is getting really hot when you do so. I thought it was risky to do so i 'm rooted but not overclocked...
Overclocking a tegra is giving awesome results, quadrant shows 5000+ when on 1,5+ GHz.

I think you are running some background process which are slowing down the games. Check your background processes and try to stop some of them which are using a lot's of ram and processor. This may solve your problem. You can also try installing Smart RAM Booster or something like this.

Hi, after installing android 4.3 in every game and antutu benchmark i have lags. In 4.1.2 was good. What i can do with this? I installed 4.3 CE in all ways. The worst is hill climb racing.
4.3 made my SP almost non responsive..

Same problem here. 4.3 made my SP really really slow . Almost in every app I got 'not responding' messages. Only 125 MB free ram, even without much additional apps besides stock. Just downgraded to 4.1 and everything is back to normal. My advice: don't upgrade unless you really need to. Perhaps 4.4 might work better with regards to ram.

Yes but i have 450 mb ram. Maybe CE is broken, and try to install another?
I installed an australian version in the release day and have no problems, no lag anywhere
Ok im installed the australian version and its the same... lags and slow, crappy phone..
my apps are all responsive when i manage to open them without the "so and so" has stopped working
I am using CE and no problems whatsoever :/ in fact my games run far better!

I'm on CE version too, and have no promblem, all game still run fast
No problems in me either. Maybe you guys have too much ram eating apps in background.

I have random write 0.11, on 4.1 i have 0.35, what i can do with this? I dont have root because i dont want to unlock bootloader.
Full fresh installation may solve the problem

I do this, all clean, not only me have this problem In 3d games is very good.
I don't get this. Even before I removed the bloatware and tweaked my ram the performance for me was better than old rom (except perhaps with doomkernel). Install as clean as possible (format system as well as data) delete all bloatware and AVOID advanced kernel as it is buggy. Try enabling force gpu rendering to fix 2D games

It dont work , i go to 4.1.2, super speed 0 lags
My N910H lags in games after I updated it to stock 5.0.1.
I play Modern Combat 5 it was smooth in Kitkat now it's really laggy.
I got 50k in Antutu with Kitkat, now it's 38-42k.
Can someone help me? I'm a heavy gamer and I want the best performance in games. Or should I downgrade to Kitkat?
Thanks for your help!
Things I already tried:
- Factory reset (2x)
- Power saving mode is OFF.
- Turning off bluetooth, sync, location, and nfc.
- Reinstall Antutu.
- Reinstall MC5
My device is unrooted and Knox warranty status is 0x0.
Benchmarks don't really mean anything for Christ sake....if your games don't play smoothly then just downgrade to kitkat and wait for Samsung to hopefully updated our devices with a newer and better working version of Lollipop.
I had the g3 and boy did they screw the pooch on that one! The device got so slow and battery life was considerably worse! This was the 32/3gb version... Hopefully samsung won't mess this up big time.
All other scores looks fine.. Except for 3d graphics.

Try doing a factory reset if you have't done it already.
It didnt work.
i updated my N910H too and i confirm the lag too, perhaps i will downgrade, will give it more time.
Hello, I have a problem with performance on Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 running lollipop on firmware.
I disabled some bloatware to get performance (and it helped a quite) and, using Greenify, hibernated some useless processes.
These are not making any problem.
I don't know why, but few 2D games stutters one time per 3-15 seconds. However, any 3D games like Modern Combat 5 have excellent performance.
In Developer options, force use GPU doesn't help very well (or other changes in it). S Voice isn't using home key.
However on GT-I9195 (S4 mini) these games were working perfectly smooth (excluding 3D games )
Clearing cache partition didn't helped. Even after factory reset and running only Geometry Dash or Super Hexagon these games still stutter as before.
What can cause this problem? Or somebody gets same performance issue?
Nobody got same problem? :/
Stock firmware? You're likely dealing with Samsung's DVFS. Find an app to disable it and see if that helps.
Thanks you for answer and an idea, however I haven't been going to root my device yet.
Then you'll just have to deal with the lag, as DVFS is baked into Samsung ROMs. Only by rooting can you eliminate the lag, either by using DVFS Disabler and Xposed, or using a custom ROM that doesn't have DVFS.
