Help. I made everything hidden - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was messing with snappref for xpossed. And there is an option to hide a folder. I think I may have hidden everything. Cause my pic are not showing on my gallery and none of my music is showing up on the player. Can anyone help me out.
I can use es file explore or even root explorer and I can see the files. So they r all still there.

So an update. Even if I transfer the music folder to my SD card the files still do nkt show up in the music player. I dunno. This is weird.

This is very strange sounding . I'm not familiar with that Xposed module and I have no idea how it works. (I'm assuming that you have the retail Note 3 and are on a 4.4.2 base with Safestrap... and the nandroid backup you're referring to was made in Safestrap prior to the current issue you're having). The easiest fix I can think of would be to flash back to stock 4.4.2 with ODIN and do a thorough wipe (cache and factory reset) in stock recovery.... then go through the process of rooting again with Towelroot, reinstalling safestrap, etc... then try to restore your backup to see if that fixes the problem.

I'm trying to do the same thing with SoundPlayer and MusicPlayer. I have no sounds and and video crashes too because there is nothing to play the sound.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
You could try pulling the apk from any one of the custom roms and push it into /system/app. Reboot, wipe cache

Did that....
But still not working. Every time I try to open the music player, it doesn't read any of the music on my phone or it immediately crashes.
Do you have any other suggestions?
And thank you for your help so far.
I personally remove both the music player and the video player from the roms before I flash them, in favor of installing mixzing.
At this point, if I were in your position, I would back up using titanium backup, then reflash your rom package, then restore apps.
And always wipe your cache partition, and dalvic cache

I haven't tried the removal option. That'll be next.
I'm starting to think there is some bad system data being save by Titanium Backup (TB). They work fine before I reinstall my Apps & system data. I reboot so everything is in the right place and that when the crash happens.
I have backed up each time so I'm thinking the bad data/setting/cmd is being carried over. I even did a reinstall of the ROM Bionix 1.3.2 and only reinstalled Apps and their data. When I go back and reinstall system data the crash starts all over again.
I've taken system folder from the ROM and had it overwrite the existing file to no avail.
I'm wondering where the bad data is stored so maybe I can not reinstall with TB next time or overwrite that file/folder with uncorrpted data.
<sigh>
Thanks again.

Don't re install system data. That is most likely your problem. Only app + data. And then, go through three list of apps and only do the third party app.

Thanks..
I'll try that, but is there any way to save the system data or will I have to start from scratch?
will another music program work like winamp?
Nada
No music app would work. I installed Winamp and Songbird. Both crashed.
I wound up not reinstalling the system data. So far everything is working.

App backup question

I bought a game from gameloft, and I found out that going to have to wipe/reinstall my phone. If I move the app to my SD card, will the game still work after I wipe my phone? I realize this is an out there case, but I contacted their customer support and I haven't heard back from them yet. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also, would titanium backup work for me for this? Would I need the paid version? The game did not come from the market, but I'm only worried about keeping this one app. Everything else I can get through the market again.

If you back up the application to your SD card, as long as you enable unknown sources, you should be able to re-install it without a problem.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping. I may try to find my old G1 and see if it runs there. Or at least shows up. I just needed some confirmation.
I believe this option is to back up your app 'data' only, not the actual app.
With Titanium Backup you can backup the app and data. The backup file will end with extension 'apk.gz'. Use a file manager to 'extract' the .apk file; I use 'ES File Explorer'.

Thanks. I just checked out the sticky on here for the new root method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387577
Will that keep all my data?
Also I'm on AT&Ts latest MF3 build. If that makes a difference. Sorry this is the first time I have every tried rooting a phone.
Dude.. if you already find the correct thread. Why don't you ask there. I guess it will not wipe your data. At least on mine it didn't but I my contacts are stored on my gmail account. So my best advice is ask on the thread..

This doesn't format your ROM it uses your sdcard to install root So you will have to wipe your sdcard. So any pictures or other items on it you will loose when you format it.

And why are you rooting?
Can I Root without "Wipe," to recover accidentally deleted photos?
I'm on NC1.
I need to "Root" without wiping the Internal Memory.
I was using Internal Memory for photos and in a state of stupor (I assume), deleted a folder I thought I moved to my PC.
So the files are now deleted. I want to use one of the many recovery tools but thus far, all that I can find require "Root" access.
BTW: As an aside, does anyone else experience issues with copying too/from Internal Memory to a PC and the files seemingly go, or at least them are visible in Explorer, but then after disconnecting the phone, when you look for them, they are not there?

Updated to 4.4.2 and it's wiped WhatsApp+

Uninstall WhatsApp then reinstall from play store & see if it picks up your daily backup ? It should be stored on storage/emulated/0 :victory:
I've tried that but still didn't work, I have my messages but all my images got wiped, very strange
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Have you looked in the emulated /0 folder?
Yeah I Checked in that folder but was nothing there,
It was strange because I restarted my phone then a WhatsApp folder appeared but there was nothing in it, so I reinstalled my WhatsApp plus then the folder appeared but obvs all my data is not there but what is weird is that I still have all my messages

Can't restore apps through titanium backup after flashing nougat rom

Using Resurrection remix android 7.1.2. When I tried restoring all apps and data using the donate version, it gets stuck restoring. I tried changing the namespace setting in su app. There's no need to update the binary because I'm using the latest version. Tried changing back up locations. Tried changing the settings in titanium to auto indirect and interactive. Only got some success using the interactive setting by installing the missing apps myself and using titanium to restore data. Even tried using the method to restore apps using update.zip through recovery. I tried everything. Can someone please help me with this its driving me crazy now.

If your backups are located on the microSD card, change the storage provider to Documents provider storage. It's found in the backup folder location setting.
And do not restore system apps.
Already tried that. The backups show up and stuff I don't get the cannot write on this folder kind of message. Its just that when I restore, it just gets stuck restoring. I thought it might only be a problem on android 7 so I flashed the marshmallow version of resurrection remix and I'm still having the same problem. Before the android 7 resurrection remix ROM I was on kushan optimized cyanogenmod 13 which is marshmallow and there was no problem restoring. The only problem was that I couldn't restore from extsdcard but I fixed that doing what you said. However on this marshmallow ROM I'm still having same problems as nougat

Then use an older or newer version of the app.
Tried that. On some versions The titanium backup says unfortunatly titanium backup has stopped and either force closes as soon as I open the app or when I try to restore any app.

The day you backuped your apps and data is it stored on your internal data? As default ?
I'm not too sure what you mean but when I made the backup the default backup location was already set as extSdCard. I use my SD card to store backups.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
It was set to internal storage but i changed that to SD card because I was running out of space. Then I made the backup
