I am constantly getting this error when trying to open the play store...It says "Error retrieving information from server. [DF-DFERH-01]" and has a retry button that never works.
I can get into the play store by doing the steps below, but it's a pain to do that EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to download or update an app.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
BTW, I'm on the latest Stable 4.4.4 C-Rom. And I tried re-flashing GAPPS with no luck.
1. Open the "Google Play" app and press the home button to return
2. Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Applications
3. Select the "ALL" tab, Search for "Google Play Store" and press it to open.
4. Press "Force stop"
5. Press "Clear cache"
6. Press "Clear Data"
7. Now Open Play Store and it will work normally.

What if it is a rom problem?

I've been using this rom for almost 10 months. The problem with the play store started within the past 3 weeks...I don't think it's a ROM problem.
I updated to Play Store v5.3.6 and I'm still having this problem.

First you have to go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Once here you go to the "All" tab.
Seek the Google Play Store app and press "Clear Data" button.
Then look for "Google Services Framework" or "Google Service Framework" application and do the same.
Then restart the phone, wait a minute and ready.

I tried that a few days ago. That's why I had to re-flash GAPPS. Because after I did the steps you outlined, NONE of my google apps would work.
I'm stumped so far.
I've had a similar error. The solution is simply to be patient, as the problem is on Google's end and has nothing to do with the phone.
I have been having this problem for over two weeks now and google still hasn't resolve it.

Tried that. No go. Its not a problem on googles end either. My tablet works fine on the same acct.
Can anyone help? So far, NOTHING has worked for more than 15 minutes.
If you've tried everything and nothing works, you have few choices here. You can do a factory reset in both Android and the recovery; with luck it works. Or you may have to do what I did to solve things, and do not only the factory resets but install the ROM again.

I have a new Nook Color running 1.4.2 and followed the instructions with CWM 3.2.0.1 and MN 5.02.19. Everything looks good except apps won't install. I see the Android market and have downloaded all apps from my Google account. I can see they are downloaded but when I try to install, nothing happens.
I've used NookColor Tools to force stop, clear data and clear cache in the Market app but still can't install.
Edit: I've reinstalled with the apps2sd version plus the stock kernel. Still no joy. Have spent an entire day getting nowhere. I see that NookColor Tool doesn't have any hidden white text on a white background. It's all white text on black background. Toggleing the tick box doesn't seem to do anything.
Can anyone please help me?
heh... toggling that select box breaks app installs for me. I fixed it by rerunning the sd-boot root again. After the root, just verify that the box is selected.
There's also the solution from old_fart
you try clearing the cache and data of both the Google Play Store app and the Download manager
1.Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
2.Tab over to "All"
3.Select the Google Play Store app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
Good luck

Thanks Ron, I do remember the select box in NookColor Tool was already ticked after I ran the sd-boot root. I'll try once more.....Could the problem be that the Market isn't updating to Google Play Store? I'm stuck with the old Android Market. I can see my paid-for apps but it won't download them for installation. Can I force an update?
ps. old_fart's solution didn't work for me
Third time lucky....I tried the root again and this time I didn't toggle the NookColor Tool tick box. Market started it's upgrade to Play Store within seconds and Angry Birds installed first time. Thanks Ron
Is anyone else getting this error when trying to download apps?

10. Start "Google Play Store" and it should give an error
11. Reboot.
Once your device has restarted Google Play Store should work. Wait a minute or too if it doesn't.
This should help if a corrupt cache is the cause of your problems (a corrupt cache might lead to strange error messages, amongst others). If it doesn't help, you might try the same steps but include "Clear Data" for the playstore app.
When I go to install an app from Google Play on my computer my Nexus 4 does not show up. I have tried running different ROM's but it still doesn't show up. I can install apps through the phone fine. Have tried clearing cache in google play services etc....
Any ideas?

1. From your tablet, head into Settings>Apps>All.

5. Back out of Apps to your About page in Settings and check for the System update.
you might get errors while installing new apps or updating existing apps. In case you get those errors, delete all the Google accounts from your phone and configure them again.

I am using ROM "Dirty Unicorns". I'm guessing the kernel it came with. I will try flashing another kernel.
Try to delete Google play updates and Google play service. You can't uninstall play service natively so use 3rd apps.
Clear data on both, force close and wait until it update again/install latest apk version if you have backups.
Works for me.
This worked:
delete Google account
stop Google Framework services, clear data & cache
stop Google Play Store, clear data & cache
reboot phone
setup Google account
open Google Play Store on the phone
go to desktop browser and open Google Dashboard
open Google Play Store on desktop browser
go to my android applications, click on any of them
voilà

I had a problem with the Google Play Store app not connecting, so I thought one way to fix it would be to disable it in MIUI settings and then re-enable it (I later figured out what the problem was, so now I just want to get the Play store back). I've re-enabled it, but the icon still doesn't appear and I can't access it. I've tried downloading a couple different versions in APK, and when I try installing I get the error "Application not Installed."
How can I fix this?

-Delete all the data/cache of the app then restart the phone.
-Do a wipe dalvik/cache from recovery or flash gapps.
So I have a redmi note 7 which i purchased locally on a store in Europe (so I assume it a European or international Rom- not sure if this is important).
I'm using stock, never rooted/unlocked so far.
Everything seems to work fine
Set up the phone smoothly, no hassles
But... Whenever I'm using play store to download any app I keep getting stuck on "download pending" message..
Yes I did my research: every time I want to install or update something ( always through play store) the only thing that seems to work is to go to "app info"
And delete all app data.
Reopen the app wait for a couple of seconds and then install/update.
Which is frustrating after a certain point.
I'm sure there's a better, more permanent way...
Anyone?
Remove your SD card and try again, sometimes your SD card can prevent apps downloading from Playstore!

I don't have a SD card installed
first check if there is any data caps on wifi or mobile networks , if not clear google play store data and it should work
try clear data app, and then delete your google account, open play store and login again when the application asks for it

Doesn't really work either...
But what I found to work is have wifi disabled-only data on then I have an option to "download now" and then turn on WiFi again and by a "miracle" the download continues...
Or when I download new apps while I have updates pending, I have to cancel the first "new" app for the updates to " kickstart" and then "reinstall" the above.
Kind of frustrating but
Most of the times this works
I think I found the bug or at least where its located... Kind of..
So whenever I'm trying to install a new app or update an existing one I get this "download pending" message..
First I stop the install/update them I go the "installed apps" on play store and I can still see some apps downloading pending despite I've just cancelled all downloads whatsoever...
Now I press the "x" to cancel the supposed update ( which never takes place because there's not an actual update) .
I notice that for a time period everytime I press the "x" some other installed apps randomly appear to "download pending".
After I start looking for all the reappearing "x" and pressing them then I go to the updates or the new app I want to install and proceed with installation without any further problems...
Until I have to install/update some time in the future...
Does this make any sense?
I had same issue on Redmi Note 7, too. I had LineageOS 16 and Gapps Nano (via TWRP). I tried to resolve this problem with everything I could find on google. Finally I did it with refleshing Gapps but to version Micro.
