Dalvik to ART Bootloop - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so I tried to change my system runtime to ART and now my phone is in bootloop. Worse it, it goes through the process of optimizing 204 apps then reboots again ending up doing the same thing all over again. Phone is hot, as well. Im not rooted. Please help. Thanks, team.

[Q] TMo Note 3 Deciding Rebooting is the Only Solution

Ended up "solving" this by doing a stock restore via Odin, after which TouchWiz would never load an icon (crash loop). Reinstalled TWRP via Odin, then flashed ViSiON X N3 via TWRP.

Morning guys,
I've had some reboots lately and a weird situation last week where I had to do operating system surgery to get the thing to boot at all.... HOWEVER things were going quite well for some time, and it's been rooted and non-stock for months.
Nevertheless I woke up this morning and it was off, I figured the battery had died so I swapped batteries... It boots, it gets to the launcher and it loads the app icons then freezes and reboots... over and over again.
edit: to be clear, as soon as the slider bar touches the right-hand side the phone freezes, the vibration holds for several seconds, and then the device reboots. obviously not what one expects from this operation (having done it before). I was able to wipe the Cache separately... trying to wipe the Dalvik cache all by itself in an advanced wipe does this reboot thing.
OK I said, i will just clear and reflash this.
Going into TWRP, attempting to do a factory reset wipe just freezes, buzzes, and reboots immediately (to the not working OS)... in order to make this all stop I pull the battery, because now the button on the side won't seem to do a hardware poweroff for anything. Just ends up resetting the current reboot.

Any advice would be helpful now. I was just going to say forget it and grab the tiniest ROM i could find and ride it out until I upgrade the device, but now I'm just concerned with getting it active. The rebooting in recovery when trying to do a wipe does not make me feel too great. First and only problem I've had with android roms.
Thanks,
Chris

Nexus 4 CM13 Boot Stall

I'm running CM13 20160204 with 20160204 Gapps and latest Xposed on my Nexus 4, although I've been having this problem with the nightlies for a few weeks. My storage is encrypted (has to be for work).
After doing a clean install, everything is fine for a few days. Eventually, the phone will randomly reboot. It reaches the PIN entry screen, and I'm able to enter the PIN with no problem. HOwever, it proceeds to the flash screen and just stays there. The flash animation continues, but it never proceeds further.
I'm able to access /data through TWRP without problem. I've tried wiping system, cache and dalvik and reinstalling with no success. I really don't like having to factory reset every week.
Does anyone have any ideas?

If anyone is following, I went without Xposed this week and had the same problem.

Note 3 sm-n9005 stuck in boot(not loop) after xposed flashing.

Hi. Goodday and i want to start of by thanking everybody for reading this and taking your time in advance.
My problem is very clear. I have rooted my phone with odin. Installed the recovery from TRMP?(ik think that's what it's called). Flashed the ROM CyangenMod 12.1. Now i tried flashing the Xposed software which is not a problem (i wipe dalvik before hand). After a reboot and then letting my phone boot up, i just keeps the boot up animation going for around 5 minutes. Didn't try longer then that. After that i booted in recovery again an flashed the uninstalled Xposed and me phone boots normally again (not taking into account it has to optimise the apps again which makes sense after a dalvik whipe).
Any ideas on a solution? Any information you might need ect. Ps, i am not super skilled or anything. I understand a little more then thr basics and thats it.
Again, thanks for your time and help!!

Can't boot without wiping cache

Well, let me explain.
I have a SM-G935F, and it was really bad, with apps crashing literally everytime, random reboots and etc.
I've flashed the latest firmware and it works good, but sometimes, the system just power off with no apparent reason, and when it happens the phone just doesnt boot without cleaning the cache.
I have to force shutdown, enter recovery and clear the cache, and then reboots. After that, everything works fine.
But its really annoying and shouldnt be happening.
Any solutions?
Maybe U didnt do it correctly.Do a custom rom or do stock again ...with care...

Rooted phone bootlooping, clearing cache and factory reset not helping whatsoever.

My phone is doing this weird bootloop where it loops 3-4 times, boots up, and starts looping again after 30 or so seconds. So I rooted my phone with Odin and CF Auto Root, and it worked fine. I tinkered around a bit, tried to get my games on my sd card with gl to sd and FolderMount [Root]. I had no success, so I uninstalled them. Everything was fine until then. When I tried to open one of my games(one I didn't tinker around with), I got a pop-up saying something like "reboot to recieve benefits", my phone resetted and started bootlooping. I have no idea what caused it. Everything was working fine until that moment. I've wiped cache, factory resetted(when it boots, I get an error saying the UI is disabled and it reboots). I can't afford Reiboot, and i'm going to try to flash stock firmware/ROM with Odin, but I don't know if it will help.
