Hello,
do you think it would be possible to port Windows 10 to the Nexus 4?
To be clear, I mean the PHONE Version, not the DESKTOP version, because that surely isn't possible.
What brought this to my mind is that Microsoft will be offering Windows 10 on the Xiaomi Mi4 (source: http://en.miui.com/thread-94133-1-1.html ) and I think that some devs here would probably be able to port that.
If I'm wrong, sorry

DonĀ“t think so
But experts will confirm this
When the windows 8 was released and are able to support ARM processors, I was elated.
So I went about looking for ways to install and review the windows 8 for myself on my netbook. And I must say, I am pretty impressed so far.
The foot print of the platform is definitely smaller and the running of apps much more efficient than its predecessor OSs.
Now I am all hyped about wanting to port the windows 8 to my phone.
I was surfing around the web for installation info or guides to port the windows 8 onto my Omnia 8. But I cannot find anything useful.
Any one here knows how to do that?
Please advise.

Yeah... I know.
But I am sure the ARM version will be scaled down to fit mobile devices.
Take the tablets for example, if the windows 8 is not scaled down specifically for the ARM versions, a 16GB tablet would only have about 2GB of memory left after the windows 8 "Upgrade".
Then those who have 8GB tablets, would not be able to even consider installing windows 8 on them!
hmm... looks like we will have to wait for the mobile versions to be released.
Any news or rumours in the grapevine?
Have you guys learned anything more about the Windows 8 RT/mobile version. It would be really great if someone can port it to the Omnia 2.
Hi
I read Samsung 700T1 exist with windows 8 for developers and samsung sell Samsung 700T1 with windows 7 too.
My doubt is if i buy Samsung 700T1 with windows 7, it will be possible install windows 8 final!?? or could i be waiting for windows 8 final version installed inside 700T1!??
Anyone know if samsung 700T1 with 3G sim card slot option only exists at developers samsung or samsung 700T1 windows 7 too!?
Many Thanks
The 700T will be upgradable to windows 8. Samsung have stated this. I formatted the HDD and installed Windows 8 and it runs perfectly . I'm not sure about 3G as I have heard its only for the developers model but a quick Bing will surely have your answer

Just bought series 7 slate last week. This one can run Windows 8 perfectly fine. I use the developer preview overall it works considering this one not even beta yet. I can tell you that if you need to buy it right now go ahead and do it but if you can wait then it might be more choices in the future.
From my experience using this tablet, I loved it.
PS. About the SIM card slot I have slot cover on the right below rotation lock button. I couldn't pop it up so not sure if mine has 3G or not. I have the 128GB model that comes with keyboard and stand.
Can it be done? I have been googleing around and the only thread i could find was from 2012. I know it is possible to dual boot with the nexus 7 and i have done it before, so would it be possible to install windows 8 tablet edition on my nexus?
If it is at all possible, it would be windows rt

Windows is not open so it would likely be a difficult port. and while the new RT uses a Tegra 4, not sure how that would translate to the Tegra 3 in the 2012 N7. I would not hold my breath on this being ported anytime soon.

Run Windows RT 8.1 on a Tegra 3 tab?
The reason you don't see a port, is two reasons:
1. No legal licenses, they come with the licensed hardware products. OEM licenses not sold seperately.
2. Surface RT was Tegra 3. Surface RT received an update, so no port is needed for "Tegra 3" but again see reason 1.
It's same as running iOS on an ARM based tab, possible but swift to be smashed by the legal teams.

this has been covered already. What I got out of this old thread was if some one ports windows rt with a un-registed os, a trial version or so, then buy a cd key to register windows rt. Just cant buy windows rt os cd key, but u can run a script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442791 on a windows rt tablet and grab the key to put it on a ported window rt nexus 7.. Hopes and dreams

There is no such rom for nexus 4, not now atleast or maybe will never be.
You can get looks and feel of windows phone by trying launchers from play store and all that stuff....
If you want actual PC version windows xp (or previous versions, but not later), then look on google for a app named bochus and how to use it
