[Q] How to Enable LTE on any country {Iran}/(SM-G900F). - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All:
I bought Galaxy S5 SM-G900F, I live in Iran (MTN Irancell SIM card 4G support) I purchased the device in Iran with Malaysian firmware, then I flashed official XSG united Arab Emirates firmware (through Odin) but there is still no LTE network selection.
My device is not rooted & I don't want to root it .
There is no Firmware for Iran, please help I need to ACTIVATE 4G
What I should do to let the device active the 4G ???!!!!!!!!!!!
Important Note: When I used a T-Mobile SIM card I got the option to select (LTE/WCDMA/GSM), BUT since this SIM card is not registered in Iran network I can't make calls with it & when I used my Iranian SIM card again I got only (WCDMA/GSM) there is no LTE !!!!!
I know about the region stupid lock and there is sites can unlock the region lock but the problem that I don't have a payment method online because of the UN sanctions.
CAN SOME ONE HELP ME WITH A FIX WITHOUT ROOTING ?????????!!!!!!!

I got an answer from SamMobile

ok that mean Samsung should update the 4G providers and add Iran to the list.

Now as I travel alot and I have more than one international SIM card, if I went to a country support the LTE in my firmware & I used it for calling & 4G ....
When I get back to Iran does the 4G will keep working or it will disappear again ????
or I just should sell my S5 & get other brand not Samsung ??

1) - Enter into the service menu >> *#0011#
2) - After Service mode is open, click on the drop down menu from top right and press>> Back
3) - Then again drop down menu on top right and press >> Key input
4) - Then Enter Q (in caps) then press OK
5) - Again open the drop down from top right and again press >> Key input
6) - Now enter 0000 and press OK
7) - wait for 15 to 20 seconds . ( this is necessary)
8) - Hidden menu of S5 will open named MAIN MENU
9) - Open option [2] UE SETTING & INFO
10) - Then Setting >> PROTOCOL >> NAS >> NETWORK CONTROL >> BAND SELECTION
11)- Now here you have all the WCDMA , GSM , LTE and their band options. This is regardless of your current location / country.
12) - just select as per your requirement.
13) - LTE band preference (dedicated band selection for LTE only also here).
Enjoy!!!

Thnx man
I tried this fix in first place but also didn't work in my case, I really feel so bad about that ............
Samsung taking our money $ & still controlling our smartphones the way they want !!!!!!!!!
{ HTC & Sony for example doesn't have such region lock stuff }
the thing that make me more angry is in spite of that I'm using middle east firmware in Iran, I can't get the 4G access but when I used T-Mobile American SIM card I got the 4G access where the United States doesn't belong to Middle East !!!!!
I learned a good lesson about Samsung & I will be careful next time when I will think about new smartphone & for sure Samsung will not be in my mind any more.

Have any solution???
I have a same problem. I have Chinese CDMA card, it is working fine, when I insert my local card the slot shown empty.
Does anyone have solution?
I saw in the other post that MNC and MCC code change will work, but the poster didn't mention how in details.
problem solved
Here is the solution
1- In the dial pad, enter "* # 0011 #", will enter ServiceMode interface (if no response, just wait a while and try again)
2- Click on the top right corner of the three-point menu, press Click "Back", then click on menu, select "Key Input", enter a capital Q, point "OK", and then point to the menu, select "Key Input", enter "000000", click "OK".
3- patiently waiting for 5-10 seconds, will enter the "Main Menu" menu, click "[2] UE SETTINGS & INFO", "[1] SETTING", "[1] PROTOCOL", "[3] CDMA" , "[9] CTC SIM LOCK", "[1] SIM Lock", "[2] Disable SIM Lock is"
4- when you see the future "SIM Lock is Disabled", turn off the phone, insert your UIM in slot one.
Thank you @sadiq5 !
Did it worked for you @mohamedals , @*daniel?
Hoping to read from you guys to buy the phone.

I have note 3 SM-N9005 (4.4.2 ) with
base band = unknown
imei = null/null
since all other options to restore failed i have to use toolbox BST dongle. (or SPT)
It requires you to enter *#9090# service mode and then select
dm/dnu over hsci
The problem is *#9090# brings up blank screen. selection key brings up a menu.
It should in bring the menu like so:
DIAG CONFIG
[1]DM/DUM over HS-USB[]
[2]DM/DUM over HSIC[]
[3]DM/DUN/RmNET over HSUSB[]
[4]DM over UART(*)
[5]DBG MSG ON(*)
[6]DBG MSG OFF(*).
How can i make the blank screen produce this menu.

On my own phone (N9005, stock firmware) it also shows DIAG CONFIG NOT SUPPORTED.
You can try out other Service Menu using other codes:
- SysDump: *#9900#
- Service Mode, Main Menu: *#27663368378#
- Service Mode, Debug Screen: *#197328640#
If you have difficulty launching these codes, you can use 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app --> go to 'Secret Codes' menu, or use 'Shortcut Master' app --> go to 'Secret Code Explorer' menu to launch these secret codes (ROOT is required).
And if you're not rooted, don't bother. Samsung disabled Service Menu access for many devices, amongst which the Note 3.

[Q] Note 4 SM-N910S (SK Telecom) issues. Need solution!

Hi all,
I am a bit new to this forum. So my apologies for any tips that i have not known yet
I got a note 4 from SK telecom KR (SM-N910S) unlocked verion running Octa core version. There are 3 issues currently exist on my phone. I am living in Australia btw.
1 : Every time the phone start up, it will ask me whether i want to enable networking or not and talking about roaming ??
2 : Sometimes MMS can not be sent, retry few time and its ok ?
3 : The networking on SM-N910S has a big issue for me, that model only has 2 kinds of network LTE/3G mode or 3G Only mode, on AU version we have GSM/WCDMA/3G/LTE etc so it look like i am missing WCDMA and 2G networks
My question is :
* How can i access the hidden menu for Note 4, i know there is a hidden menu somewhere on that phone allow me to change network mode
* Can i flash my phone with AU firmware to remove roaming message and other SK's stuffs. ??

If you have root, just open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes' > scroll down to *#27663368378# for Service Main Menu or *#197328640# for Debug Screen. Tap and select "Launch 0' to launch.

Hi,
For me is not working. I did that change, I have LTE connectivity (not 4g as I have on my note 3) but now I can't use the phone, only Internet. Any idee? I'm on Vodafone Romania.

4G and LTE is just preference in naming. If you choose 'LTE' option without 'preferred', it will fail to fallback to 3G to make a phone call. Different story if your carrier has VoLTE

note 4 hidden menu network settings
I got this note 4 off ebay and it kept wanting to roam, and not use my network preference. I went into the hidden menu and changed it to all LTE and it asked if i wanted to use my network data and i said yes. Fixed it and the roaming "r" went away, but......................it won't stay like this after you reboot the phone, it goes back to roaming again until you go back into the hidden menu and do it again. How can you get it to stay permanently?

SM-G9350 Hong Kong: anyone been able to access service mode menu, NETWORK CONTROL,etc

I need to test a way to get rid of a huge battery drain that happens when using a data only sim card..
Both *#0011# and * # * # 197328640 # * # * are not working.
*#0011# is only giving me basic information no network menu.
* # * # 197328640 # * # * is not working at all
There is a blog post in japanese, that using Google translate I was able to read that changing a setting in
MAIN MENU [1] DEBUG SCREEN → [8] PHONE CONTROL → [7] NETWORK CONTROL → [3] SERVICE DOMAIN → [3] PS ONLY fixes my problem.
This problem is present on all android devices, all of them are showing as 100% no signal when in fact they work but only in data mode (no voice).
There is absolutely no way to get a voice sim card in japan if you are not japanese.... (law, yes really).
The phone is not rooted because I want Samsung pay if it ever works in this device.

Assistance in Comparing ServiceMenu LTE BC_CONFIG on i9505 S4 JFLTEXX

Hello,
I have entered the service menu to see what LTE bands are enabled:
*#0011#
Menu > back
Menu > Key Input: Q0
Main Menu > [3] LTE
LTE Main Menu > [2] LTE RF
LTE RF > [4] LTE BC_CONFIG
Support LTE Band. > [1] LTE-Band 1 (*)
I only have that 1 band listed and selected (*).
I am on Stock 5.0.1:
AP: I9505XXUHOJ2
CP: I9505XXUHOJ2
CSC: I9505BTUHOJ1
I am in the UK, but I don't know if the phone was originally a UK handset.
Screenshots on other forums show Qualcomm devices with lots of different LTE bands which can be enabled or disabled under "LTE BC_CONFIG".
Can anyone help me out and confirm what is under "LTE BC_CONFIG > Support LTE Band." in your S4 Service Menu?
Cheers,
YYo
Bump, no one can be bothered to look at this option in their phone and help me?
