The Zenphone 2 has been released into the wild starting in Asus's own back yard, so it only a matter of time before it will be widely available.
Price bandings are as follows
ZE551ML (5.5″, 1080p display, 4GB RAM, 32GB) – 8990 NT$ (~US $285)
ZE551ML (5.5″, 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 32GB) – 6990 NT$ (~US $221)
ZE550ML (5.5″, 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB) – 5990 NT$ (~US $190)
ZE550CL (5″, 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB) – 4990 NT$ (~US $158)
Very competitively priced and will see a lot of interest no doubt.

There is still a lot of confusion regarding models, price and specs. Another site specified ZE models as: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/462d26b69. It would be very useful to know exactly which LTE bands are assigned to the particular model. Maybe someone from Taiwan could clarify us whether 4GB ZE551ML intended for Taiwan market carries all LTE bands as specified on referred page or only 3 bands as is it advertised for the cheaper model on asus.com.
I wonder if there will be any 64GB version, as well.
Any shops that have it listed?

I messaged the 4 gig ram 32gig storage seller on eBay about what bands that particular model supports. Here's a copy paste of the reply
Dear theatheistotaku,
Thank you for your inquiry.

I for one cannot wait. I like the option to have a 5 inch phone but I don't like how it's gimped stat-wise.

Very appealing
I hope the 64GB version will be available in the UK. The specs are very appealing indeed. I only hope that Asus has improved their track record in providing Android updates. I remember my very expensive Asus Transformer tablet did not get any Android updates and after tiring of trying some custom ROMs, which were never good enough, I sold it cheaply.

I asked too and got the same answer. That sucks cause it practically locks your cell to your country and makes it pretty useless if you travel. I tried to get the explanation by phone but it was fruitless since outside Taiwan no branch office knows anything about the device and in Taiwan you can't get through auto reply which is of course only in Chinese. The only bright spot is that the Taiwanese seller's site specifies it different but it could be the false Google translation again (http://www.asus.com/tw/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/specifications/).

It's stupid and is not common, but Asus possibly has a mind of it's own (see Zenfone 5).

I don't understand why there is two configurations for US and WW because bands are all the same except band 17 missing (would be better to keep this band for WW, this band will be deployed in europe soon)
Makes you wonder what the ebay sellers think they have for sale... still I won't be taking the risk.
Either I'll wait for the WW SKU (the only one that works for me) or I'll buy something else.
No pressure Asus, but you have until 3rd April to release the WW SKU phone or you lose my custom!! (as if they care!)

Band 17 is typical for the USA and some rare other countries but is is certainly not implemented anywhere in Europe. But I agree that distribution of frequencies is not optimal. In fact the US model is the most "worldwide".

From what I know, the Atom is Tri Band and lacks 850Mhz. Unless they released an updated version, they are all like that and there is none with 850.
I am sure that you can get service still, I know I can get GPRS and EDGE with AT&T but it is limited.
A lot of O2's phones lack 850, which is unfortunate. My Atom Life lacks 850 but has 1900 for 3G
and that makes up for the lack of 850 for the most part.
almost country use 850?? in indonesia gsm not use 850 maybe.

Is that from HTC's official website? the specs on its UK page don't have LTE at all listed for the unlocked device.
Mobicity's the only one at present selling an unbranded/unlocked LTE enabled variant:
Network Band: 4G/LTE 1800, GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850, 3G 900, 3G 1900, 3G 2100

Well qualcomm is releasing a new chip later this year that solves that problem.
Hi,
I just confirmed my back-order for the I9500 (and the product description is mentioning LTE eu which I believe means Europe). However, I'm a T-mo subscriber.
Does any one know if T-mo will support the European LTE (or in other words - will the I9500 will work with T-mo or AT&T LTE network?)
Thanks,
Gil.

Hi! Us Tmobile User Here! Sadly no. The i9500 does not come equipped with 4g LTE chips. Mainly due to Europe's lack of a reliable network. The i9505(international) on the other hand does support LTE, so does the us version (SGH-M919). But buying one of these phones is somewhat of a waste knowing there could be compatibility issues with your network. In simple terms, stick with you i9500. HSPA+ IS NOT BAD. On paper it has a 42mbits max while LTE IS A WHOPPING 100MBITS. But the problem is paper stats dont translate well into everyday. Many times i find my self enjoying faster speeds on my HSPA+ phone then my LTE friends, variables like network congestion and signal strengrh can all factor into this. So yeah, stick with your I9500, the lack of LTE will only save you battery:laugh:!

I think that the lack of LTE for the i9500 is now updated. This is the spec from the website I've ordered the i9500 from:
Network: 2.5G (GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE): 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz; 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps): 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz; 4G (LTE Cat 3 100/50Mbps) : up to 6 different band sets(Dependent on market)
Display: 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display, 441 ppi
Processor: 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor
OS: Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
(they had the rest of the spec, cam, etc. but its not relevant for this thread).
This is the site: http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-galaxy-s-4-smartphone-black-mist-16gb-unlocked-247538/
As you can see, it is the 1.6Ghz Octa core and it does support LTE per this spec. The question is - will it work with the US (T-mo and AT&T) bands?
Thanks.

AFAIK there won't be compatibility issues because the GT-I9505 will support all global LTE frequencies and standards. And what you said about LTE in Europe is wrong. There is a "reliable" network in Europe but it works on other frequencies than in US and moreover most countries in Europe will get the GT-I9505 version only. What you said was the case with the SGS3 but now the Exynos version (GT-I9500) will be officially in only few Europe countries.

Thanks.

Negative. I spoke to them and had them look up the exact model with their procurement. The version they are getting is sourced from South America and DOES NOT have LTE despite it saying so on their website. It appears that many websites have made this same mistake because like Expansys they have simply reposted Samsungs description but it does not discern between the Korean version which is an Octa with LTE and the rest of the (announced) Octa variants which do not have LTE.
delete.
International phones are on International Baseband. US phones are on us baseband. If they were the same then there would be no US-International. It would just be one baseband. So i doubt it will but you can still be open to possibilities.

Hi,
I just confirmed my back-order for the I9500 (and the product description is mentioning LTE eu which I believe means Europe). However, I'm a T-mo subscriber.
Does any one know if T-mo will support the European LTE (or in other words - will the I9500 will work with T-mo or AT&T LTE network?)
Thanks,
Gil.

Can I ask, where did you preorder the GT-i9500?
Just remember, buying international phones is a PAIN for warranty. So be careful.

Warranty is not really an issue for me, just need to know where I can get the Exynos variant.

I've seen that, but their descriptions are really confusing. Some marked LTE, some marked LTA (not sure what that means), and some are marked just GT-i9500. Those which are marked just GT-i9500 say that they come with a quad-core, which should not be; the GT-i9500 is supposed to be octa-core. GT-i9505 is quad-core.
Which is which? Also, there are 16, 32, 64GB versions on the website; I doubt we will be seeing something higher than the 16GB version for the release.
Also, if I order the octa-core version. When will I get it, approximately?
Hi,
I'm having real trouble finding info on this so I hope you can help.
I have a standard 3uk 3g micro sim card in my international GS3. Can I use this card in an LTE enabled GS3. Is the LTE device backward compatable. I don't expect to get LTE coverage I just need to know if my sim will work as normal in an LTE device.
Yeah it is. If there's no 4G it should revert to whats next available such as 3G

Thank you for your reply. Amazing how hard it is to find info on such a simple question. Called three and the guy couldn't grasp what I meant.
Thanks again.
Hello,
do you have some verified information about 4G+ support for this phone? Apparently some specs say that it should support cat. 6 connections (150+150 Mbps) but I can't find confirmations.
In my case, I'm in Italy, I bought a chinese m9pw and I already managed to convert it to an "official" WWE phone (unlocked, S-OFF and RUU) and currently the baseband is 1.1506V24P14.1605.0421_HTW. On the box there is a "100 - 150 Mbps" label with no mention to 4G+.
Here the LTE Advanced is achieved by aggregating two of 800, 1800 e 2600 bands, and the M9+ supports the 1800 (band 3) and 2600 (band 7) so in theory it should work. Anyway, from a few tests I made I get only 4G symbol with no difference between 4G/4G+
Any suggestions?
Maybe definitive answer
As per official specs of MediaTek "Helio X10" MT6795 which is the M9+ CPU:
"Support for Rel. 9, Category 4 FDD and TDD LTE (150Mbps/50Mbps), as well as modems for 2G/3G networks"
The Cat. 4 (release 9) is the last implementation of "simple" LTE (single carrier), the first release of 4G+ is the n. 10 (cat. 6), so according to this:
HTC M9+ DOES NOT support 4G+ (LTE Advanced).
If you have different info please post it here. Otherwise, don't trust other sites telling that this technology is supported by M9+.
proof
Here is my first real test on filed:
Samsung Note 4 (4G+) VS HTC M9+ (4G) speed test
Center of Milan, same provider (TIM)
Note 4 (4G+): 102,5 Mbps (download) - 20,59 (upload)
M9+ (4G): 58,82 Mbps (download) - 10,24 (upload)
The Note 4 catches on double carrier LTE Cat. 6 and literally doubles M9+ speed!
Luckily I change to note

Hello Forum,
Has anyone experienced with both models and can state if there is any difference on the materials (say glass, plastic, etc) regarding its quality?
Or is it the same quality for both?
I already ordered a YD206 from AliExpress but still on time to cancel the order and get the YD201 from coolicool.
Thanks
I can't find any differences whatsoever

Your data is inaccurate. I have brought YD206 and it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974Pro-AA 2300 GHz processor.
I'm using 4G LTE Band3-1800MHz

I can confirm that my YD206, purchased from bang good in december has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974Pro-AA. The supported frequences are in the radio firmware, read the threads here on how to upgrade to the firmware that suits your country best!
