[q] lg g2 d801/803 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just recently picked up a LG L2 bit was stuck in fast boot mode. Was able to get it into download mode and load stock firmware, but of course loaded the wrong one. I loaded the one for D803 but need D801 T-Mobile USA. I have phone rooted and have twrp installed what's the best way to get correct firmware installed? Can I just put on a custom room and have it work on T-Mobile USA.
Thanks

http://www.lg-firmware-rom.com. Enter your IMEI and you'll be given the latest and correct .KDZ to flash for your device.

Thanks for the reply it says I have the d803 is there anyway to install T-Mobile d801 onto it?

since the att model has a extra mic, it can cause some issues, you would have a better chance flashing a d802 becasue its basically the same just make sure you flash a d801 kernel also, if you go to the tmobile developent thread they have a thread about it

i was told that the AT&T version (D800) has exactly the same hardware as the international version (D802), 100% of it, is this affirmation correct? If so i could easily flash my D800 with a D802 rom+kernel right?
I also want to do the same. Mine actual phone is D802 but due to stuck in between boot i have to take it to local retailer for flashing, he flashed it to D800 Atnt but now i want to go back to D802? What are the steps that i need to follow? Kindly guide

[Q] LS980 G2 Sim Unlock for Telcel Help!

hello i live in Mexico. I wanted to Get the LS980 G2 on GSM Telcel. I followed:
"[GUIDE] Unlock LS980 ZVD (KK 4.4.2) [UPDATED 8/10/14]" by jsergio123, I seem to be able to get the signal/bars, but don't seem to be able to get data. I've put the correct APN's but it never gets data.
I read somewhere that Cloudy Rom is GSM. so i tried that Rom, I am able to call and txt, but no data. i tried flashing D805 KK Baseband, but it would get stuck when starting up. Flashed LS890 KK Baseband back and Flashed CloudyG2 2.1 and chose The D805 Variant but on reboot it would show "fastboot" and so on.
Could Someone Help Me?? I've tried everything that I could find in the forums. I've unlocked phones before without any problem, but this one seems to be very reluctant to give me data!. I'm about to give up on this phone.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Software says my phone is D802, hardware says D800

I bought my G2 from a seller on Amazon. It was sold as D802 (I wanted an international version as I live in Europe). It worked just fine.
Some time after I broke my screen. I ordered the replacement and realized that the top connector is not compatible. After further inspection, I realized there is a "D800" printed on about every piece of hardware inside the phone (motherboard included). I bought a D800 replacement screen and that one fit. Phone is now as good as new.
I now wish to install a custom ROM. I don't know if I should install a D800 or D802 ROM. Hardware does seem to be D800 (AT&T version btw), but software ('about -> hardware information' in options) says it's D802. I never managed to do an OTA update, it would fail for some reason.
By the way, some time ago I rooted the phone and installed a custom recovery (philz 6 - luckily it's the same for all versions of G2 or I might have bricked my phone).
Thoughts?
From what you have mentioned, it looks like you have obtained a D800 device on which somebody has installed a D802 ROM.
That's probably the reason you aren't able to do the OTA update, as the update meant for D802 is being forced upon on a D800 model.
A ROM meant for D800 should work, but you have to test this at your own risk!
Thanks for your post.
What confuses me is that I bought a factory, sim free, brand new phone. Hard to see how someone could've force fitted D802 software on D800.

Using the "LG phone from" app, based on imei it seems that my phone's version is D802T (australian version it seems), was on mobile operator named Optus. Seems the seller has lied about the phone.
Still doesn't solve my problem, what kind of a ROM to put on it?

New info: IMEI in software and on the back case does not match.
By the way, the phone can't be 802T because it's screen is compatible with 802, whereas my phone is compatible with D800. Which means they messed with the IMEI.

imei.info says mine is D800 (same as motherboard). Another one says it's D802T (can't be, screen not compatible). Back cover imei says it's D803.
Did you flash any custom roms? If so, for what model? Right now I'm thinking I can't go wrong flashing a D800 rom.
Modem is from an AT&T D800, so it must be that.

you need to open the back cover and you can find your model at the bottom (original model)
alternatively you can go to your recovery which is stock will also tell you the original model...
for me removing the back cover and stock recovery it says ls980 and its 100% true as i recovered my g2 by using tot file for ls980

Back cover says it's D803, which can't be as the screen wouldn't be compatible. Also, the IMEI on the back cover is different to the one in the software. As for the recovery, I've already flashed a custom one.

Which LG G2 Should I Get If I Want To Put Cyanogenmod On It?

Is there a certain firmware it should have? I want to make sure the one I buy is going to allow a custom recovery/boot.
I would say that u need D802. Which is int verzion .
Have a look at cm web. http://get.cm/?device=d802
I don't understand, how can I figure out from that page which firmwares/basebands are able to load TWRP or other custom recoveries.
I have the d802 (international version) and it is very easy to install TWRP and custom ROMs.
CM can be installed on all versions but installing TWRP is more complicated on some G2 versions like the AT&T.
It should noted that the d802 does not support LTE frequencies for the USA and Canada.
