Can you flash a d800 AT&T rom to a d801 t-mobile phone if you flash the proper kernel over also?
Or is there more to it?

since the att model has a extra mic, it can cause some issues, you would have a better chance flashing a d802 becasue its basically the same just make sure you flash a d801 kernel also, if you go to the tmobile developent thread they have a thread about it

i was told that the AT&T version (D800) has exactly the same hardware as the international version (D802), 100% of it, is this affirmation correct? If so i could easily flash my D800 with a D802 rom+kernel right?
I also want to do the same. Mine actual phone is D802 but due to stuck in between boot i have to take it to local retailer for flashing, he flashed it to D800 Atnt but now i want to go back to D802? What are the steps that i need to follow? Kindly guide

hi
i want to buy a LG G2.but I'm hesitating between two options
One of the most important things that i want from the phone, it is a good development.
Which model of LG G-2 has better support & development ? (Or will support In future)
And what is the difference between these models? (D800, D801, D802, D803) In my country, there is only D802 for sale.
Each model is for a different cell company.
Which model is international?
in fact which of these models is the original and general model?
When L9 was released P768 model released here. Developer of the conventional model, the model p760. Before I buy this phone, i want to make sure that this version will be well supported by developers.
I think you know what I mean.

I would think that would depend on the developer. Each of the models uses a different base (thus the different model numbers) Some are are easier to start with as others are more gunked up. It simply depends on which one the developers prefer working with. Either way, whatever phone company you are with you will still be able to get a rom for it no matter what base the developers use. I think the d802 model is the international one.
D802 is the international version
yeah, thanks!

I'm sure the D803 (Canadian) will work on the 3G network for AT&T,T-Mobile/MetroPCS.
Do you guys know if it would also work on LTE for AT&T and T-Mobile? Rogers uses LTE bands 2100 / 2600 MHz but the phone is also compatible with Telus and Bell. I hope one of the Canadian carriers use the same LTE band as T-Mobile...
D803 version
Does this version has themes? The AT&T version does not have the themes option..
what does that mean for the rom devs ? I have a d802 and i want a rom that supports d800. So is there a hardware difference or can i install d800 roms on d802 ?
Specs for D801
I am planning buy D801 with Wind , but when i do little research in my ,country, they sell D802. So my question is Can I use D801 for international ?

FYI, this is generally correct however at least one Canadian carrier (Wind) uses the D801.

hi guys, im from Canada, and have a D803 model, would like to root and install vanilla android, but Im not finding D803 roms, or I can install the ones that are for the D802?
please respond, I cant find an answer.
Is there a hardware difference the variants? I know for the canadian galaxy s3 you just had to flash the att version recovery and all the roms would work fine

I have the Videotron version and it is the D801. Still no KitKat update, but since T-Mo is updating now I don't think it will take very long to get it from Videotron.

You can install ROMs for the d802 onto the d803. However, you must install a d803 kernel right after, before booting!
I've run the d802 version of SlimKat with the d803 kernel from dr87 without issues.
D803 ROMs and kernels are in the LG G2 Original Android Development forum. There's actually quite a few of them available in there.

If the only difference in hardware is frequencies yes you can install .. Make sure you flash the orginal kernel (d802 kernel) right after flashing the rom.
I want to know whether one can flash all d802 Roms on d800 and then flash kernel to make it work?
Asking because I have the option of buying d800 for 420$ and d802 for $550. I'll be unlocking the AT&T d800 model.
If I can flash d802 Roms on d800 wouldn't that be better.
Though I remember d800 having max development now it has changed..
Hi,
I received a LG G2 from china that was supposed to be a D802 model, but after I opened the back case it's writed D801 / D803 on it, I think it's a canadian version. But on the phone software, it say it's a D802.
Now, I want root/custom recovery/custom rom for it, but in every flashing process I need to shoose the model. should I proceed for D801 or D802 or D803 ?

Do whatever it says from the settings. Go to the About Phone section and do whichever one is listed there. Not sure why it's labeled differently, but what the phone says from the settings is the proper version.
not so sur, many users here have bricked there devices because of the difference between software and hardware, on refurbished phones.

Exactly right. Don't go by the settings. If your phone's put together by different parts, like frankenstein you might be off getting a refund.
it's now confirmed that it's a D800 (stock recovery say it), I contacted the seller for a refund.
Hi friends,
I recently bought lg g2 and i think it's refurbished. I need to know whether it's converted d802 or original d802, how do i know ? I am asking this question because in market converted version of d800 to d802 ( motherboard is of d800 and casing / software is of d802) is available and now i am confused about my phone.

A Easy , but a very very easy way is:
D802 has radio
D800 donĀ“t
Radio FM works? if works, is a D802. If not, it is not a D802
I thought the same idea but after than i read other threads in which d802 in other countries doesn't support radio feature
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46294092&postcount=4
Also check this ss for model , kernal and other specs
It's been days and i don't even get a serious reply from anyone. Please help i need to root my mobile but for this i need to know whether i'm doing right or wrong.
If you need to be 100% sure which model, you have to open back cover and see which model you have. AFAIK, this is the only way

I'm a newbie. And it's a new mobile for me. I can't open it. Is there any other Way to check ? And i doubt it's a china version lg g2 d802 which supports 3g only. Because it shows gsm/wcdma option in mobile networks. You can also see this thread.

I bought my G2 from a seller on Amazon. It was sold as D802 (I wanted an international version as I live in Europe). It worked just fine.
Some time after I broke my screen. I ordered the replacement and realized that the top connector is not compatible. After further inspection, I realized there is a "D800" printed on about every piece of hardware inside the phone (motherboard included). I bought a D800 replacement screen and that one fit. Phone is now as good as new.
I now wish to install a custom ROM. I don't know if I should install a D800 or D802 ROM. Hardware does seem to be D800 (AT&T version btw), but software ('about -> hardware information' in options) says it's D802. I never managed to do an OTA update, it would fail for some reason.
By the way, some time ago I rooted the phone and installed a custom recovery (philz 6 - luckily it's the same for all versions of G2 or I might have bricked my phone).
Thoughts?
From what you have mentioned, it looks like you have obtained a D800 device on which somebody has installed a D802 ROM.
That's probably the reason you aren't able to do the OTA update, as the update meant for D802 is being forced upon on a D800 model.
A ROM meant for D800 should work, but you have to test this at your own risk!
Thanks for your post.
What confuses me is that I bought a factory, sim free, brand new phone. Hard to see how someone could've force fitted D802 software on D800.

Using the "LG phone from" app, based on imei it seems that my phone's version is D802T (australian version it seems), was on mobile operator named Optus. Seems the seller has lied about the phone.
Still doesn't solve my problem, what kind of a ROM to put on it?

New info: IMEI in software and on the back case does not match.
By the way, the phone can't be 802T because it's screen is compatible with 802, whereas my phone is compatible with D800. Which means they messed with the IMEI.

imei.info says mine is D800 (same as motherboard). Another one says it's D802T (can't be, screen not compatible). Back cover imei says it's D803.
Did you flash any custom roms? If so, for what model? Right now I'm thinking I can't go wrong flashing a D800 rom.
Modem is from an AT&T D800, so it must be that.

you need to open the back cover and you can find your model at the bottom (original model)
alternatively you can go to your recovery which is stock will also tell you the original model...
for me removing the back cover and stock recovery it says ls980 and its 100% true as i recovered my g2 by using tot file for ls980

Back cover says it's D803, which can't be as the screen wouldn't be compatible. Also, the IMEI on the back cover is different to the one in the software. As for the recovery, I've already flashed a custom one.
