KCAL is one of the best things to happen on this phone. Much more useful than XReality which was slow to react and was very limited. With KCAL, global setting is possible for both accuracy lovers and for people preferring colours that pop. Right now, I have set mine for clean whites and saturated colours to relive my Samsung days:
R - 255
G - 250
B - 245
Minimum - 35
Saturation - 70
Value - 135
Contrast - 135
Hue - 0
I guess this only works on custom kernels?

The RGB values affect the white balance.
Also, I have found that leaving the values of Value and Contrast at 128 and keeping the saturation at 70 gave better AMOLED like colours without being too garish like my previous settings.

There is no need to change White balance settings just download color control app (link posted above) and then apply your values and report the best values
Thanks

Hi,
Do you know if there is any way to hack the screen global contrast / colour settings on Android devices? I know there exists an API for brightness, but I would like to induce whacked colour modes (change R to G, etc.) which correspond the drug usage.
This would be a very low level operation, so I assume this would be device specific and go to display driver settings.

Just changed my kernel to Faux from Trinity just for the sake of colour (RGB) and gamma customization which Trinity's TKT doesn't offer..
Anyway, after tweaking the RGB bar in FauxDisplay I am asked to On/Off my display to update my settings but the weird thing is after doing so, the RGB value just changes back to default (255,255,255) and I'm pretty sure its the same with Gamma Settings ... what could be the problem ??
My guide to screen calibration Of XPERIA Z1
First my recommendation To disable the change in brightness when the temperature rises

Now to the calibration
First thing you need kernel thet Allows calibration i use rockz1 kernel.
and color control apk.
1
To calibrate the brightness
Use Brightness image
When the image on the screen
in Color control
You set with switch
VALUE
Until you see all the shades of White in the picture .
2
To calibrate the contrast
use the contrast image
in color control app
You set with switch
contrast
And adjust the image until you see all the different shades of black.
3
To calibrate the Color saturation and hue
When calibrate this
the Screen should be in a blue color filter
Change the value
Red color 0
Green color 0
blue color 255
( It temporarily )
use the color and tint image
And you set the
Color saturation
and
hue
in color control app
So that Of blue merge evenly
In squares.
When reaching the desired result
Bring up back in color control app
RED to 255
green to 255
And the screen is now properly calibrated
Does anyone have a KCAL temp profile that matches or cones close to the stock color profile in MIUI?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my Redmi Note 3
KCAL settings
RGB - 256
minimum RGB - 35
Saturation Density - 50
Screen Value & Screen Contrast - 134
try it you may like it Looks Quite similar to miui Default Color production..
Hello,
I am searching for the parameter to change value of RGB via build.prop to avoid screen burning issue.
Anyone could help me with it ? How kernel aduitor changes RGB value in background ?
I change all my RGB colours to 200 and wait until the existing screen retention faded and since then have yet to see any screen retention in.

Flash ElementX kernel then used Kernel Adiutor to adjust the colours.
