I would like to know if it's possible to make a Nand Backup via recovery screeen and then recover it in another Tatto, so I can export the ROM, with apps and settings to a friend's tattoo
If not, is there any other way?
Thanks in advance

i did that...it should work...for me all right
Sure it's possible! Since you have identical HW he will get an exact copy of your device (don't know if cache partition is cloned though, could be necessary when using custom ROM using cache as dalvik cache...)...
samsung
Do you think samsung is better ???
they may answer but some thing like "we know it is a problem, but we are working on it, and can not help you now..."
john
Well, I have to say that it hasn't been any success, so it seems not possible. Maybe there's something I gave made wrong, but it says that Nand backup is not possible.

you have to copy the content of HT99****** into your device's HT99°°°°°°°°
don't copy the HT99****** folder because that is the code of the phone backupped...it is compared with the device to restore and they doesn't match ...
so copy the subfolder of the desired backup to your /HT99°°°°°°°
try this
Can someone please post what files are in this directories:
/system/etc/
/data/misc/wifi/
/data/wifi/
My tab is Verizon.
I was looking for another fix to "acquiring ip address" issue... and I deleted something I shouldnt have but I'm not sure what... so I need to compare to someone else what I am missing now. Help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Internal memory, which is 16Gb, if you check, isn't 16Gb, because a portion of it is reserved. Part is reserved as a space for the normal operating system and apps to store their cache/etc. Part is reserved as space to hold a compressed image of the original os/apps from which to recover from??

Sorry it took this long.
/system/etc/
Jeez! There's like 40 files in there, but there is a wifi folder and a wifi.conf file.
Wifi folder has like 50 files, and the wpa_supplicant.conf file.
This file comparison is not the way to go. What rom are you using? Can you reflash that?
Im on stock vzw rom.

Have you considered flashing a new rom? It will replace any missing files or folders.
It isn't very hard to do, just a few people mess up the steps. Look in the development section and see if there are verizon roms, or verizon stock.
Otherwise, if you post your file list I will compare with mine, but that is a huge amount of work.

I have been considering on doing that but I haven't found any vzw stock roms, the only one I've seen around is the k-lean rom.
In essence if I have flash a stock rom I get everything back in place?
If you happen to see any vzw stock roms around please link me. I've searched around but they all seem to be down.

Yes, and any other rom you flash will replace what is missing.
basically my motorola atrix doesn't work any more!!
the bit of the screen which is meant to be used to access the buttons bellow, work as though you are pressing the bottom of the visible screen!!
EVERYTHING is shifted down! if i want to press something, i have to press the area 1cm bellow the location!
I suspect it is cause by me formatting every single folder on the internal storage using clockwork recovery...
i have tried installing the original Rom using RSD, i have tried everything!!!
ANY HELP PLEASE?
the device is a piece of garbage now!
i saw that NO ONE else has reported this issue anywhere on the net!!
it can't be a hardware problem cause it was working before i formatted all of those folders! including the ones with the 3 character names... can't remember the names... but basically i formatted everything...
this is a common problem when you format / partition the internal memory. it screws up your PDS partition, which i hope you backed up. search a little more, there are lots of topics on this in the dev forum and I believe there MAY be a solution but i don't remember.
Just found a couple of threads...
I didn't back it up... does this mean that my Motorola atrix is practically worthless now? :s
Solution

this apparently is supposed to work... will try it in a bit.
but still, you won't get the original mac address and bluetooth number and the rest...
:/ sad times... there must be someway to acquire the original values?!?!

i'm not sure there are, as those values were never meant to be cleared out.
can ask why you decided to format every folder in the memory?

Well, if you look in the post i linked to, it is an image that i pushed into the partition...
it's working now at least!
I do have my mac address and IMEI, do you know how i can edit that image file to put my own values in it? i have no clue as to how the image can be edited.... :/
the reason i did that was because i had an HTC HD2 before. it originally comes with windows, and so when you installed Android, it had a horrible process... in that process, the MAGLDR and CWR as they were called, did not erase every folder in the phone's main memory... so i had gotten used to formatting them individually in that phone.. that's why i did it on the Atrix...
also, in the HD2 they were folders not partitions... so basically, i wasn't familiar with the exact core of Motorola android devices...
there must be a way to put in my own hardware details into the PDS image file?

Hey guys,
Quick newbie question for you. I followed the procedure in this thread ([ROM][5.1.1][LMY47V] 21 May- Stock Flashable Rom/Factory Image) to a T and have 5.1.1 on the Nexus 4 but for some reason my internal SD card paths are all messed up. I couldn't use my camera to take a photo - it wouldn't save anywhere.
I used Terminal to run the restorecon -FR command for /data/media/0/* and then I restarted the phone and I could use my camera, so that was a good step.
Now I'm in WhatsApp and I can't see any media that people are sending me. The photos stay blurry. Is WhatsApp pointing to a directory that doesn't exist? How can I solve that? Or is my internal SD card ****ed?
I am using TWRP so if you have any solutions I can fully utilize that to fix the path errors or re-flash system img or whatever you think will work! My brother is trying to send me photos through WhatsApp and I can't see 'em!
Any help is appreciated!

You mean the flash_all.bat? Nah - I manually flashed as per the forum thread I linked to. I installed through TWRP, not fastboot. My Nexus 4 only connects as an AC source so I can't even get it communicating with my PC to unroot and flash stock.
So the phone is not recognized in OS X, window, or Linux? Tried different USB cables and USB ports?

Yeah I've pretty much tried everything to get it communicating with the computer again. I think it's a hardware issue - I had my screen replaced and I think some part of the battery assembly wasn't re-installed properly and thus communication ceased. I thought flashing to 5.1.1 would fix what could have been a 4.4.4 issue, as I had USB fast charge enabled with various kernels, but alas this was not to be.
Any ideas about the internal paths?
A screen replacement does involve moving the USB charging port to the new screen and it is possible that this part was damaged and vertical seems to be the case. I assume you don't have access to another phone to test the port.

Yeah no other phone to test the port. I just got an X Play and am using the same cable I was using with my Nexus 4 and communication is flawless - adb, fastboot, all the goodies. I thnk I'll need to take the Nexus to a shop or open it up myself.
Thanks for paying attention to this thread, audit.
Try opening the phone yourself as it is pretty easy but that choice is yours. Good luck!.
Hi Mike, just a hint... did you check the partition status on your device ? To check if it's a logical or hardware issue, here's a reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/general/partition-layout-t3196367
You can analyze yours with something like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cls.partition
and eventually mount manually the missing mounts.

Great idea, dev. How do I go about manually mounting? Do I need to use Terminal or something similar?
Thanks for your reply.
mounts & partitions
@XxMikeMasterxX Yes! In terminal emulator.
Code:
su
cat /proc/mounts
- or -
mount
- or -
df
- or -
cat /proc/partitions
to list all partitions/devices/... a bit messy output
The mount command is also what you'll need after you find the problem.
It can mount a partition, remount read-write...in case it's a permission problem, or bind a folder to another, in case it's looking for a specific folder, but your system named it in a different way.
Not sure if this applies to your case...just an idea Did your partitions check return any anomaly ?

Not that I can see. I'm a bit of a noob with Terminal so I'll even have difficulty identifying the erroneous file paths. It's too bad my adb and fastboot don't work. Or else I'd just revert to stock and re-flash everything.
@XxMikeMasterxX If you don't want to mess with terminal, try using the app linked in my first message then (or others that show mount points and partition details), and please use this as a reference. I posted the MXP one by mistake !!!

@dev>null Eeeek! Scared! I'll try the app and see what I can see. I guess from there it's a simple remount.
So hypothetically let's say that sdcard is mounted somewhere else by mistake and some app folders end up on the wrong partition/location, do I use a remount to remount that particular folder/location to the proper sdcard path?
Whoa I think I just got it.
@XxMikeMasterxX Exactly! There used to be a bug in CM with wrong sdcard mount point. Take a look at this, I'm sure it will address you to the right direction
And also give you examples for command syntax...

My brother tried the Terminal commands but after he entered su and tried the other 4 commands Term returned "nothing found" each time. What does that mean?
Also, it appears that he needs to remlunt his entire SD card somewhere. What's the folder? Root/sfcard
@XxMikeMasterxX Nexus 4 does not have a physical sdcard, so I guess it's just a missing symbolic link.
Try:
Code:
su
mount -o bind /data/media /sdcard
and see if Whatsapp can save the images now.

Thanks for your recommendations. Yet again, though, the command you provided didn't work. I tried to get him to bind different locations to sdcard but that didn't help either.
A funny thing he told me is that under Settings>Storage he can't open the Internal storage section. He said it just doesn't open.
It's almost like Android installed to a really weird location and isn't recognizing anything. I am really baffled.
I checked out the guide - the o ly problem.is that the phone doesn't connect as a USB device (broken link...battery maybe?) and as such he can't run the adb commands.
I wish it did connect USB though - I'd just have him return to stock and then this would all be erased. Any other ideas, dev? I really don't know what to do next... Thanks for your ideas so far - you've been a great help.
So when I connect my phone to my PC and enable file transfer, I try and copy or cut and paste files and it doesn't work. Yesterday I created a new folder where my pictures are stored by default. I then copied and pasted the pics from the main folder to the new one and it went through the motions but didn't display any. I refreshed and still nothing. I backed out of the directory and the folder said it was empty but so was my main pic folder. So it basically deleted everything instead of pasting them in the new folder. Is there an easy fix to this? Never had this issue with my note 3 and 4. Or any other phone for that matter. Is there like a Read/Write command to turn on or something? Seams like a pretty big flaw to not be able to cut paste files and they just get deleted....
Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated,
Never had any issues like this, both on encrypted and decrypted data. Try flashing the userdata again and see if the issue still persist.
Also, have you checked for the pics in Recycle Bin?

If it helps, I am not rooted and completely stock. How would I go about finding the recycling bin?
I have the same issue with my OP5 (decrypted)
Have you tried copy pasting?
Mine worked well when I did it (encrypted).
Just drag and drop, don't copy so much, try one folder at a time instead.
Also I'd never use cut and paste, if it fails you could end up in limbo with files missing.
Always copy.

You were moving pics from your PC to the phone, were you not?
Windows moves the files to Recycle Bin when you cut-paste.

No, just moving files from one folder to another within the phone. Just using the PC to play middle man to issue the command.

I am not concerned about the files as I have a backup. What concerns me is that the OP5 does this to begin with. I have had several iphones and several Samsung phones and never encountered this issue. That is a design flaw within the software. I was hoping to get an answer as to if this can be fixed or if it is just a flaw with OP5's operating system. Just seems odd this phone does that.

It doesn't happen to everyone. So we can't really talk about a design flaw in the software, otherwise it would affect every device. It's more like a random bug I guess.
As I said, when I got this device I successfully copied my files. Granted, it did seem to have missed a few files (2 Titanium Backup backuped files) and possibly more I did not notice so far.
I've noticed dodgy OTG on the O+5 never had it in a phone before
Because the copying is done by the operating system of your PC, shouldn't there be the problem? The phone is just connected by the internal storage as an external drive. Or is this a driver thing?

Well to me, bugs are inherently design flaws. lol But I don't want to argue semantics. I would just like to find a fix to this "design flaw"/bug. I can understand having a few files deleted or not transferred. But every single file that was selected, cut and pasted? That is just frustrating beyond belief. I just don't get why it does that to begin with. Never encountered this issue with any other phone I have done this same procedure with. I have no issues with transferring files from the pc to the phone. The problem is encountered when I am trying to do things with the internal storage. That is what is confusing me.
@strider5236, tried doing it again on decrypted data using Windows 10 and and Ubuntu 14.04. Moved with no issues. Encrypted data then did it again. No issues still.
Have you tried flashing the userdata image like I initially suggested?

There seems to be a bug in the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) between Android and Windows 10. It loses files while copying.
