SSH Tunnel Client?

i've searched without luck. can anyone suggest a good SSH tunnel client for WM5/6? i want to tunnel from my tytn via cingular 3g to my home pc and then use PIE to access my home media. i do this from work now, but would like to do it from my phone.
btw, i tried zatunnel, which works, but it isn't very stable.
thanks.
mToken
The new version of mToken (4.3 if i am right) has SSH tunneling (SSH port forwarding). You find it at choung networks.
http://choung.net/mToken/?page=download
perfect! works like a charm. thanks.
I probably don't understand the question, but I use Orb installed on my home computer to access files, webcam and other media from any other computer. I can listen to mp3's on my phone from anywhere with PIE. It is free.
not that familiar with Orb, but with Tversity (which i use as a media server for all of my pictures/music/video files) there is no way (as far as i know) to prevent someone on the net from port scanning your pc and copying all of your media content from your pc. with tversity, as soon as you open the port on your home router, you media content is available to anyone that is smart enough to find the right port. there is no inherent login/security mechanism in Tversity.
to prevent this,
1- i don't open the standard tversity port (standard implied deny) on my home router.
2- i open a port for ssh on my home router / fwd to my pc's ip.
3- i use an ssh server to enable a login capability on my home pc using that same ssh port.
then from my phone (for example) i can use an ssh client to login to my pc and point PIE to the ssh port / loopback ip.
like i said, works great.
now if someone can tell me how to harden Tversity w/o having to do this, i'd appreciate it!
thanks.
With ORB you create a password to log on to your system. I think it 's a good app, I first found it reccomended here.
i guess we are getting a little OT from this forum... but your right, Orb has more security. I searched for awhile, but can't determine if Orb supports upnp clients like dlink dsm-320 and xbox media center (XBMC), etc.
in addition to using pie on my wm6 and any remote PC to access my media, I have the dlink connected to my bedroom TV wirelessly and the xbox connected to my 60". from either one, i can stream all of my media content from tversity to my TV's. please let me know if Orb can do that cuz i'll switch asap. thx.
I just thought I'd add that you can use openvpn (open source) on your ppc to vpn over a single port just like ssh. Openvpn has alot more features including persistent connections for automatically reconnecting and is extremely secure. It seems very stable to me using it over wifi to connect home. It will even work over a proxy. I use it to enable direct streaming with orb because with the vpn you are essentially on the same network.
putty mobile
i've just checked my putty mobile installation and there is a tunnel-option.
i can't try it cause i'm not in my home network but you can give it a try
One little nugget I found out last night about mToken is that it doesn't work on WM6
A freind has got a cute little Vox (I think) with WM6 and can't use most the software I use This is a major reason NOT to upgrade for me if my software doesn't work
pocket putty works great with the tunnel option. I've looked tv stream over such a tunnel.

networking, pinging and remote desktop? can u help?

hello all,
gots me a problem . im going to japan november, want to remote desktop back to here when necessary and be able to access a hdd here for dumping pictures. i have a lan here, wifi, it has a connection surfs the net etc.
it has an ip address from my router. is there a program or command that will get me the kind of command functionality of a dos/command prompt? ping, ipconfig, etc?
then if i can get them to talk, what steps do i need to take to remote in. do i need software? i enabled remote here, setup a user (vista BTW).
i cant access here from the laptop with xp either that one can ping. its also wifi currently. im obviously missing something and would appreciate any help, or web site links etc to show me what ive missed.
thanks in advance.
hi, a lot of admin utilities is in program called vxUtil. try to find it, if you are interrested. this is list of few features -
DNS Audit
DNS Lookup
Finger
Get HTML
Info
IP Subnet Calculator
Password Generator
Ping
Ping Sweep
Port Scanner
Quote
Time Service
Trace Route
Wake On LAN - magic packet
Whois
or look at HERE
so this was for PDA, and this is for full connection via SSH VPN encrypted connection. I work for Infineon/Qimonda company, and there is strict security policy in here. So we have not permitted to ping, or created FTP connection with outside and many other services (like sending files through ICQ and etc.). There is one way, use your own SSH tunell ;-) on my home PC I have installed WinSSHD Bitvise server liseninng on port 443 (which cannot be blocked, because all our lotus notes databases is secured with HTPPS) and from work I can connect easily to home. Then is easy to create FTP connection, or terminal, or full GUI terminal (mstsc.exe e.g.) Link to this server (not free) and also to very good client (free) is HERE
I also have few routers connected to stable IP´s adress, which also have VPN features. Then is easy for me to connect to my home lan from everywhere.
thanks so much, i knew someone would point me the right way.
since last post, i have managed to remote desktop from my phone on the LAN just using built in remote desktop. tomorrow i will attempt an internet connection probably not configured something yet!
im checking out those web pages now. thanks again

FTP to chipped xbox

I have a chipped xbox which has a huge hard-drive with lots of movies and tv episodes stored on it. This xbox is connected to my wireless router, and I can browse its hard-drive using on my pc using windows file explorer by connecting with ftp://xbox:[email protected] (don't try clicking on this, I can't stop the forum automatically putting it as a clickable url)
As you can see the xbox needs username of xbox, password of xbox, and the ip address assigned by the router is 192.168.123.125
I have Resco Explorer, and I belive that I should be able to connect to the xbox, but cant seem to. Could someone please give me some pointers.
Okay..
I've actually ftp'd some NES/N64 roms from my phone to xbox using PEFTPPlus and Porta+ FTP client.
Its basically just like using the PC, except inorder to get to the xbox's IP yo would need to be on your wireless LAN. Either that or set your xbox up as the DBZ or DMZ.. (cant remember the acronym..) basically so that it can be accessed by the actual IP your ISP gave you..
My xbox's ip is 192.168.0.65
user xbox and pass xbox.. put that into the program while on wifi and you should be good..
Thanks for this. I will try with this software and post my results

Wifi over VPN for games.

hi there andro cracks...
i got a question and hope you can help me solving the problem.
i have many games which have a wifi-multiplayer only but i want to play with my friends that are kilometers away. So can i make a vpn on my laptop and connect my note 3 over wifi with this vpn and my friends connect to the same vpn from their homes. is it possible then to play this games?
short said can a vpn simulate a wifi connection so games are playable over wifi even from other side of the world.
micjustin33 said:
Its not Possible with VPN you need to create your own server for this
Click to collapse
can you explain me that?
What you mean with your own server?
So is it impossible to play wifi games over internet?
damn we need Hamachi on android
I guess it depends on the game. some games allow you to have your own server to play usually with local folks. in that case I guess you'd be able to create a server on your own and have fun.
