[Q] XT907 suddenly dead? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Uhm... Good afternoon.
I really don't know what happened to my XT907. I was playing Castle Clash, and then, suddenly...
- Smart Launcher Pro stopped
- GApps stopped
- Messenger stopped
- Amazon MP3 stopped
- WhatsApp stopped
And 4 or 5 more apps stopped. I nned to say what I wasn't using any of that apps but Smart Launcher Pro and WhatsApp.
So I selected the common Power Button... Power Off... Then I used the common Power Button for Turn On my XT907...
Stuck on the boot animation. It makes the sounds as receiving WhatsApp messages and that, but it's eternally on the boot animation (it isn't a bootloop)
What to do in this case?
(I need to add something else: I used the volume up button and every time I use it, the cellphone vibrates)

Try using House of Moto and reflashing your FXZ (assuming you're on a stock ROM) using the Universal or Keep Data option. If that doesn't work, unfortunately, you may have to factory reset or do a full FXZ flash. If you're okay with wiping your data, you can try a factory reset through recovery (works on stock)

Believe me: I don't have trouble with the apps... I have important chats on WhatsApp but it's recoverable. I experimented with wipe cache and the phone immediately reboot

Messed up software (maybe)

Hello, so I got an s4 GT-I9505 that had a cracked screen so I fixed it.
Phone booted as it should and worked fine for few minutes, then things started to crash (statusbar, touch wiz home), it starts to lag and behave very weird so I decided to do factory reset - same stuff happened.
So I flashed CM12 everything works fine besides the fact I dont have sound.
So I flashed back to stock using odin and pit file, it boots to stock sometimes it has sound and sometimes it doesn't, also it crashes like it used to after few minutes and reboots to bootloop.
I flashed CM12 again so I can use the phone somehow, but whenever I go into the AudioFx app it crashes so do other apps that need sound either crash or lag.
What is the issue? I'd love to stick to stock rom but I cant use it as it keeps crashing.
How do I fix this problem it's important for me to have this phone working.
Did you do full wipe before flashing?and is the screen original or chinese?
Try a custom stock rom.

I don't really know, got it on ebay for 50 pounds. And I did a full wipe using the stock recovery.
Possible loose connection somewhere?
Flash twrp and then wipe all..make wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe dalvik cache and wipe data.all these from advanced wipe.then turn off phone and put it in dowload mode.then flash stock rom using odin.this is the cleanest way to flash rom.maybe in system is something from cm and messes up with stock.as for the sound it may be from the screen.some chinese screens make phones lag, even not boot up.
I forgot to add that I get sound at the boot animation but after that no sound at all
I have installed costum rom F14 on the 4.4.2 android version. It makes the modified boot noise and the sound works for for a few minutes, only sometimes but.
Anybody?

Moto X Pure issue, urgent help.

Hi guys,
So I had been using my Moto X Pure (3 months approx) and it had been perfectly fine. Except just a couple of days ago while I was on snapchat the phone suddenly shut down. While I tried to restart the phone it got stuck on the boot screen and didn't go past that. I initially tried to wipe cache partition & factory reset but nothing happened, it was still getting stuck on the boot screen.
My phone is unrooted and I haven't tried experimenting with the kernel or anything, mind you.
I left it alone for a couple of days and it started to boot up again, it was working perfectly, no issues whatsoever. But just yesterday the same situation occurred yet again :/ not while I was using snapchat but I unlocked the phone but the screen didn't turn on and it restarted by itself and got stuck onto boot screen again.
Is this an issue with the software or the hardware?
I talked to Motorola and they said they will issue a replacement phone, but I live overseas so it could be a hassle. Should I just send it in for replacement or try and reinstall the rom using factory image?
Thanks guys, really appreciate your help
could try reinstalling the factory image but if you havent messed with anything on the phone maybe its a hardware issue... i dont know
If the bootloader is still locked, i would definitely go through the replacement hassle. Should have no issues whatever after only 3 months and 100% stock.

Yeah - I haven't heard of stock unrooted phones getting their system image corrupted such that a reset doesn't get back to proper "stock". Maybe a botched OTA, but if you've got that warranty option, probably be wise to take it.
I don't know this phone and Motorola well enough to say that unlocking your bootloader and starting from scratch, as I would be sorely tempted to do in your situation, won't void your warranty option.

S7/Verizon - Updated to Nougat, now no Mobile Network/Data

Just updated my Galaxy S7 to Nougat this morning, now I can't get a mobile data connection or send/receive text messages.
I've tried restarting, removing the SIM, turning data on/off, and airplane mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you gone into recovery and wiped cache?

Worse comes to worse, factory reset if clearing cache doesn't do it.
As long as you set everything to back up to the cloud, you should be good. But make sure you have done this before you do a FDR. I usually copy stuff down to my PC just in case though before doing an FDR.
I've had no issues with the Nougat update. I'm really pleased with it. Phone is just as smooth and snappy as it was under MM. Could be the euphoria of having Nougat, but it seems as if it's even smoother than before.

If you can still boot into the desktop, I'd copy down whatever you can to your PC or some external drive and then do a factory data reset. That might be your only option now if you're getting the Dead Andy.
BTW, you weren't rooted or had any other customizations done to the phone's image? Usually, OTAs won't work with modified/rooted phones, but I've seen some cases where the OTA goes ahead and applies itself and then the phone is rendered useless until they either flash back to a stock image (when they've rooted or customized) or factory reset if they didn't customize it.
In this post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71321950&postcount=15), the user I believe had disabled some stock apps that were required for the update and that caused some issues. He used the Verizon software repair tool and it apparently either re-enables those apps, or if you removed some, it puts them back on. Once he did that, he was able to accept the update and it worked for him. So, if you had disabled some apps, that might be part of your issue, especially if it's an app that is required by the stock system.

What build were you on previously?
Try downloading the Samsung repair assistant and go into download mode. This will wipe your device so you might want to back it up using smartswitch.

Freezing and rebooting

Classic "my phone keeps freezing and rebooting". I am quite in the know about flashing roms and such.
It started on the stock firmware 6.1.1 (i think it was). I dd factory resets, cache wipes the lot. It would still randomly reboot.
So i flashed Telstra version of 7.0. Still froze every now and then. Did the same things as above.
Flashed TWRP and wiped everything, flashed Renovate Rom and the bootloader for it, Still did it. Numerus factory resets and wipes of everything. It would freeze at any point from startup, to having setup the phone and making phone calls or on facebook or whatever. It would even freeze in twrp, or loading twrp.
I found that the data partition was corrupt so i re partitioned to ext4. Still nothing. I reformatted every partition so the phone was a complete brick with nothing on it and after flashing clean again it would still do it.
Whats the issue that I'm missing, or is there a way to log so i can find where it keeps getting stuck? It gets hot and blue light flashes and i have to hard reset it or sometimes i have to let the battery drain so i can turn it back on again.
pls help?
Hmm i will give you an advice so you dont have to wait for your battery to drain...just press volume down and power button for like 5 secs and phone will force boot. Anyway back to your problem...did you tried flashing latest stock samsung firmware?

This advice doesn't work with my phone even with holding the buttons for 30 secs and more. For rebooting I can only wait until the battery is completely drained. With little hope for another way shortening time to the next reboot any help is appreciated.
Same here...experiencing the same prob...
Same problem.

Sounds like you need your motherboard replaced i had the same issues on marshmallow thought the nougat update would fix it but realized it was a hardware fault not software..left it in store to get fixed and on repair sheet it said faulty motherboard..
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
As i know some S7 have motherboard hardware problem, mine has too, what help? warranty and they replaced motherboard. But if you root, you can say good bye to warranty, they look at knox first with this problem.

[Android 8.1 Oreo] Random reboots in my second time install

I installed 8.1 last week. Everything was working smoothly. Was trying magisk youtube mod. Screwed something up. Phone went into bootloops. Reinstalled everything .Wiped data. Now my phone reboots randomly. Everything stock .Rooted with Magisk. Mainly it happens whenever i launch a new app(An app which was not launched before). After few tries, the app opens up and doesnt' result in reboot.
Any ideas what could it be ?
You should of wiped system and cache also might be your problem. Also if you where using any substratum themes remove then manually as well. Not sure if they would cause reboots.

FC's are one thing but random reboots are a completely different animal. I would completely wipe the phone and apply the latest factory image using flash-all.bat. If that doesn't fix it you may have a hardware issue (eg. degraded battery).
Wiping caches helped
I'm running SUPERXE-8.1.0-OPP5.005_v1.5.1.
My 6P was going crazy, restarting every 5 minutes or so. It rebooted so quickly it felt like a soft restart, so I thought powering off and rebooting to recovery using the power + down volume to clear the cache in TWRP would help.
Cleared system and Dalvik and powered down. Full reboot and (for now) it feels much happier and hasn't spontaneously restarted yet. That was about 15 hours ago.
Hope I didn't just Jynx myself, but I think it helped...
I've flashed the final 8.1 images to upgrade my 8.0 unmodified system. Now I've random reboots, usually when I've leave home to go to work or vice versa. Something related to wifi, that I'm connecto on both my work and home?
Same here I had to factory reset I'm having a feeling it's going to happen again. I am on factory, rooted with magisk. I always use SuperSU not saying that is what it is however it did happen when I got home from work and just kept rebooting before I could unlock.
