I've just rooted my s5 and clean master keeps popping up saying I have very low storage that it might not be able to save photos, how to I overcome this? I never had this problem with my s3.
It says I have 1.8gb left

Uninstall clean master?
Is that not a good app to have then?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
If it's giving you storage errors when you have none, then probably not
I had a look at it and noticed that Id had it installed previously, and the fact that it's not on my phone any more tells me I didn't like it

I wish I could help you with that, but I was forced to downgrade mine to 4.2.2, wich gave me knox warranty 0x1, also I saw a norwegian online IT magazine claiming samsung has pulled the 4.3 update in USA and UK at least.
They used BBC as source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24995544

I've just checked them links out, it's crazy really as most my apps are on my sd card so unusable most the time and if I move them to the phone I have no space left so I can't win. Not a lot we can do really

Backup your files. Then boot into the recovery and wipe cache. If problems persist, then wipe system/data.
Files as in images music etc? Will my apps stay on there?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Everything will be wiped.
But your apps should be downloaded automatically when you setup your phone again.
Do you wreckon this will solve all the issues I been having?

Rebootings and freezings is hardware fault not rom related.
Also keep getting errors such as "touchwiz has stopped working", "settings has stopped working " etc

Agreed.. My old S2 started doing that.. It was the eMMC chip. You need to give more info about the phone itself, such as:..
How was the phone flashed?. If you used ODIN, was "USB Debugging" in "Developer Options" (active) Checked, also was "Re-Partition " in ODIN UN-checked, also did you use any 3rd party kernels or bootloaders or Radios,
Do you use a Case and screen protector, if not.. Have you dropped the phone, has it been cushed in your pocket.. or has it gotten Wet or condensation, maybe from excessive sweating or excersize.
Have you installed a Custom ROM.on it in the past but not read or followed the instructions properly, they are a minefeild if you dont follow the guides
Are you using a 3rd party Non Samsung Battery or a different Charger.
Has any hardware on the phone been replaced, such as the screen , camera or body part.. which may not have been put back properly.
Was the phone pre-owned, which case.. the previous owner couldve done anything to it..
Have you installed a faulty SD Card in the past or used an old SD from a Windows 7 or Windows 8 phone without formatiung it.
If the answer to these is No, Ide return it for a replacement or refund.
Good luck
So I've had this thing for about a week now and the growing list of complaints is still mounting. Now I have an issue where almost all my apps, only those on the sd card, need to be redownloaded. The icon for them is just the Android guy with a little sd card on the lower right of the icon. When I touch it it takes me to Google play and says it's not installed. Anyone experiencing the same? I have reinstalled a few and when I did it seems my info is still there. No idea why it happened.

Have you tried reformatting the sdcard with the phone (not with windows)?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Was going to until I noticed that when I reinstalled the apps my data was still there so I didn't want to risk losing all my data

Is the card mounted OK? - does it keep unmounting itself? Could be messing up the file system but not actually destroying data., which would indicate a card problem, tried testing the card also? - Try another SD card if you have one, or alternatively format it via the phone and lose the data, then redownload.
Mounting seems fine, actually unmounted and remounted a few times with same results. Haven't tried testing it, what's a good way to do so? I guess an idea would be to transfer app off card back to phone and reformat and see what happens.

I'm tired of running out of room on my i337m internal storage of 9.xxgb of a 16gb card I now have a 64gb external card but still have internal room issues. Like no space haha
Slim Roms powered
1337m
4.3.1. build 2.2
If you are willing to spend around 150 to 200 usd, Mobiletechvideos has a service that literally upgrades the internal storage up to 64gb. It is called eMMC repair/upgrade. Other than that, you will have to transfer as much as possible to an external card.

You can do this yourself if you know how to open the phone. Once you take off the coverings the internal is easily accessible and in fact removeable so all you need to do is a simple swap. But, just make sure it's formatted to the correct for internal

Ummm... No. It is soldered to the motherboard and requires a reflow station to remove. It is not an at home thing to do. It requires professional equipment to remove and upgrade.
Please know what you are talking about before you get someone to potentially break their phone.

I have been in and out of the S4. the only way to get more storage space is to replace the motherboard or like I said, reflow station. Samsung would not have a cradle for the eMMC chip. It would be more costly and take up more space. Also, why would they do that knowing that people would try and fail to upgrade their storage?

Use foldermount. Free version lets mounts 3 things to.your ext sd. If you have big games its the way to go. My phone was completely full now I have almost 7 out of 9 gigs internal left.
On first open hit app analyzer and move the 3 top apps it shows you. Just the large data file. Dont set it to mount on boot. Just mount and unmount those apps b4 and after using them. When unmounted they aren't on the internal storage not even with a explorer. When.mounted you can see.the data on internal and external
My s5 is a completely stock UK model on Tesco/O2. It's had a couple of system updates.
I last did one a couple of days ago and now the phone won't recognise the sd card. It initially flashed the message "sd card unexpectedly removed" (or similar).
I've tried restarting, removing sd, restarting then putting card in. All to no avail.
The card works fine in my son's s4.
Any ideas please?

Just remembered something. When I tried to move a couple of movies to the sd using ESFILEEXPLOR it wouldn't let me. I managed to move them with the stock file explorer though.
I was reading another thread about compatible sd cards and it seems there are a few people with issues, mainly caused after transferring music to the card as opposed to leaving it in the system memory

I heard there were a few problems with this stock update and I was trying to avoid it because my phone was fine, no problems with really anything. It updated when I connected to WiFi... oops. Now it won't read my SD card and pretty much every time I unlock my phone, it tells me to check my back cover because it thinks it's not all the way attached. Realllyyyy annoying and I have no idea how to fix this.
Edit; I'm on an att s5
The warnings wont go away unfortunatly but had no sd card issue....if anything after update my screen was unresponsive till i pulled the battery

Question is encrypt our device is really important? Our data can be recovered easily when we sell our device? How many people here they are using encryption in their note 3?

Mostly applies to 'older' smart phones........
Yes old android phone doesn't have encryption features under security, we have this feature available but how many people using this? Google says before factory reset phone data must be encrypted if we want to sale our device, if encrypt data & do factory reset it will not ask password?

This what I mean, I don't think many people encrypt there device & new device is only secure when it's encrypt, so new device also insecure as good as old device & unknowingly we sale our devices to others.

A, who is dumb enough to store naked pictures on a device of which per average 3 are stolen every second?
B, I was under the impression that it was common knowledge that factory reset in setting is a Soft reset.
C, Reflash firmware and tell it to wipe during flash. Should be sufficient.

As I said in B.and C.

Plus this will only refer to internal memory.
For all important stuff you keep on external sdcard, make apps record/use extscard and don't include the card when you sell.
