I'm tired of running out of room on my i337m internal storage of 9.xxgb of a 16gb card I now have a 64gb external card but still have internal room issues. Like no space haha

If you are willing to spend around 150 to 200 usd, Mobiletechvideos has a service that literally upgrades the internal storage up to 64gb. It is called eMMC repair/upgrade. Other than that, you will have to transfer as much as possible to an external card.

You can do this yourself if you know how to open the phone. Once you take off the coverings the internal is easily accessible and in fact removeable so all you need to do is a simple swap. But, just make sure it's formatted to the correct for internal

Ummm... No. It is soldered to the motherboard and requires a reflow station to remove. It is not an at home thing to do. It requires professional equipment to remove and upgrade.
Please know what you are talking about before you get someone to potentially break their phone.

I have been in and out of the S4. the only way to get more storage space is to replace the motherboard or like I said, reflow station. Samsung would not have a cradle for the eMMC chip. It would be more costly and take up more space. Also, why would they do that knowing that people would try and fail to upgrade their storage?

A Google search would be your next option for proof.

Check out dropbox. I have 50GB available on mine when I bought my HTC one for free. Now I have GS4 and am still using it. Works great.

Well now I feel like an idiot. I was under the impression that we were in my other phones forum which has a removable internal SD card. I'm really sorry guys

Use foldermount. Free version lets mounts 3 things to.your ext sd. If you have big games its the way to go. My phone was completely full now I have almost 7 out of 9 gigs internal left.
On first open hit app analyzer and move the 3 top apps it shows you. Just the large data file. Dont set it to mount on boot. Just mount and unmount those apps b4 and after using them. When unmounted they aren't on the internal storage not even with a explorer. When.mounted you can see.the data on internal and external

I bought the nexus 4 8gb. too small i know buts thats what i can afford.
any way can some one explaine why the storage capacitiy is only 6 gb?
thats a real let down.
AW: [Q] A math problem with the storage size?!
It's because the system takes about 2GB of storage. So no "math problem" but some irritating advertisement.

This is no different than any other device. The same is true for any other android device and yes even the iPhone. The system ROM will always require a small portion of available space

As above plus have you ever seen a HDD that was advertised as e.g 500gb and actually had that 500 as usable space

<pedantic>Every 500GB HDD I've seen has at least 500GB of user-addressable space. Though not 500GiB.</pedantic>

No. On the iPhone the nand is larger than what is advertised. If you buy a 16GB phone there is a 20GB+ nand in there so that the user can access the 16GB that was advertised.

Where did you get this? There was a 20+ NAND built in but I could only use 14 in my 16 gig version.

I am talking about the iPhone 5/4/4S
Users that use iDevices get the full space as advertised, probably because it costs more anyways.
Android devices are cheaper so they couldn't care much about delivering whats advertised.
Any how, you shouldn't have any issues with an 8GB N4.
Considering DropBox (You can get 18GB of Dropbox space for as little as $5. I've personally bought it from here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/160943243088?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I don't play games on my phone so that wont waste space either.
I just have about a gig of music on my phone.
Hi guys and girls
I hope someone can help, I have just got a galaxy s4 and just purchased a 64gb sd card, ive converted the sd card to fat32 but whenever I put photos on the sd card they wont show, it just shows a white icon like a broken face and if I put music on the card it plays a 3 second snippet then moves to next song.
If I place the photos and music on the internal memory it works fine
Ive persisted for 3 days and ive given up, please help me
Many thanks in advance
Steve

Thanks for the replies, ive tried that and still no use it seems to be saving photos ive taken but anything I download to sd through apps doesnt work, ive tried putting a music album on through kies and that didn't work either, I just cant understand what is going on, never had this issue with the s1 or note so is it possibly an s4 issue?

I have a plane to upgrade my SD card from 16GB to 64GB. After few minutes working with Google I found out that so many peoples complain about problem of their s4 with SD card. S4 made SD card go to some places like hell. SanDisk is the most card name has a trouble.
Try downloading Media Scan from the playstore i think the images will appear on your gallery eventually.

As you increase the size of the sd card ...there are more memory issues popping up....I suggest you take the sd card and fix it to a different phone and see if the pics are readable....if they are not....its a problem with the sd card...so better check it out....if the pics are readable...try a different card on your s4...I myself use a 32gb Kingston sd card with life time warranty. ..just in case something like this would happen...so first isolate where the problem is...then it'll be easy to find a fix...good luck...hope this helps
Thanks for the advice, I will try a 32gb card that I have for a few days and try the 64gb in my archos tablet and see what results I get. Ill post my results asap, thanks again

Alot of apps the I have moved to my SD still show as they are on the phone and which meams its taking up the phones storage. When I remove the SD none of the apps work because they are in fact on the SD card and not on the phones storage. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm only concerned because I have the 16gb model, you know the one that's actually 9.6gb? Anyone have any ideas?

I may be wrong on this as I haven't read much on it for awhile. But I think only the data is moved. So app is still there.

That's what I thought as well. It seems like the data is still being registered on the phones storage as opposed to the SD card even though the app has been moved to the SD card.

Back in the day when I was using WP7, I managed to replace the INTERNAL SD cards on an HD7 and a Surround with larger capacity cards, is this possible with the N3?
there is an SDCard Slot in the Note 3, why would you want to hack the Intenal??

Thanks! I didn't want to actually do it (per se) just wanted to know if it was possible - the reason I discovered that it was possible with the two HTC handsets was that the wife's Surround's internal card failed (must have burnt out) and I figured it out and replaced it, and then upgraded the memory of the HD7 the same way- People worry about memory in phones so I wondered why people don't just upgrade the internal storage, thanks for explaining
any way to get full 32 out of lgg2. dont feel like reading all this 100 pages in threads but i know answer is there .

The system uses the 32 for itself, the only way to get the full 32 would be to not have an os installed abs then i don't see how you would access your data
