So I just got my moto droid razr m and the time and date is completely wrong. When I go onto my date and time settings there's no way to manually enter the time or date; the only options are to use 24 hour format and select date format. Whenever I try restarting my phone there is no change accept the time resets to 12AM. The date also continues to say it is January 1th 1970. Please help me fix this? I don't know what to do!

In settings /about phone /date and time
There should be 2 automatic options, turn them off and changed date /time
After correctly set, auto data and time should work correctly

I just got this phone and The problem occured just a few days ago when i inserted my SIM.
i tried NTP clocksync and it does not work, doing it manually and the HYDROEN PEROXIDE'S new root method. Restarting it several times and tried hard reset as well. Nothing works.
I checked my sensors as well. The proximity sensor and the light sensor are not working. I didn't check before but i know my light sensor was working. Don't know about the proximity sensor.

I'm having the same issue. I have rooted the phone with Kingo root because Towelroot won't allow me to connect due to being off on dates. I installed clock sync which is supposed to allow you to adjust dates or time to what you want. I tried manually adjusting through the phone settings but it won't let you do that either. Once I press ok on the date that i want it never actually changes. It continue to show as 1/1/1970. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. There's nothing on the phone and it has been factory reset multiple times. Only thing on phone at this time is kingo root, superuser, clock sync and that's it.

Recently i noticed wrong time after restart and the device didn't update it unless it's connected to Wi-Fi. I did some research and found that the device connects to ntp servers via udp 123 port. And most common issues is provider limitations on this port. Asked in provider's support forum and result is that is set some limitations and probably will experience issues with it. So for know solution is to find why my gt-i9505 forgets time after every restart? I own and HTC Desire Z (Vision/G2) as work phone without data plan but it keeps time correct. Both running CM11 (4.4.2 on DZ, and 4.4.4 on S4). Tried to uncheck "Automatic date & time" but isn't helping. Any ideas?

Just a guess - kernel or hardware issue. Maybe it is worth to flash newer or different kernel.

I'm using CM11 and they releases new update almost everyday, so different kernel will no last long (i presume flashing roms updates kernel too?)
And also the time after reboot is set on random basis from 1970 to... pick a year from this century. I guess to ask in cm's forums is the best thing to do next...
Have you tried factory reset after problem occurred. I have searched in Google and there are lot of phones experiencing the same problem.
One says it is CWM problem (?strange), some do a factory reset, some re-flash firmware... So, start with most acceptable to you.

Yes, this was first i did. (with stock rom had no issues). Yes i'm using CWM, what is next best choise (till madmaxx82 release 4ext recovery for jflte)? On My phone CWM acting weird, for example backups are created in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup instead of /sdcard or /sdcard1
EDIT: TWRP flashing in't solve issue, even when set appropriate time zone

rtc clock not working properly
I cant change rtc clock time, I tried -w and -systohc, but nothing

Dsp manager also not working. When I change sound compression it works, but at next song it sounds normal, like if it wasnt activated.
RTC can't be set directly on all newer Qualcomm devices.
DSP Manager most likely will be changed in CM. Anyway its DSP Manager bug and not ROMs itself. So if you want look through CM JIRA and if there no such bug report. You can report it.

Ok, I'll report that. I also noticed that recovery backups dont have rtc time. I did some research on the internet and I found something about newer qualcomm devices have recovery time kept in a file in /data/time. I could check this by reading the file time_log.1.
I did know this coz one day recovery bacckups were changed from 1970 to 2014, but with wrong date, so I think I would have to do a full wipe, format data and system and reinstall the rom, I think this could work. I also read someting in the changelog like rtc showing correct or something like this. Maybe same time is kept coz I dont do wipes while installing a new nightly. I really appreciate your work, I love your rom.
It is set to 2014 in kernel. That what Samsung made in KK opensourced kernel. And dont be surprised if it will be set to 2014 next year. Day, month isn't changed forcefully. So thats why you see such date in recovery. While in normal boot mode time_daemon starts and sets date and time. So wipe don't change anything. These RTC changes related to normal boot mode only. Particularly to time_daemon.
And yes, recoveries like Philz support setting correct date.
Ok, thanks

First of all, thank you for a great ROM. The only problem I have, is when I am calling someone. The screen just goes black. Is there any trouble with the proximity sensor?
When I take the phone away from my ear the screen is supposed to light up right? Mine doesn't do that...

Hi, is screen mirroring working with CM11 nightlies?
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9506 mit Tapatalk
Hi!
I've been having an issue ever since I started using one of the first nightlies of this ROM: After a random time both my WIFI and phone signal icons turn orange and the proces Android OS starts draining my battery together with having no signal at all. Turning off WIFI at that point doesn't seem to work anymore but can be done by putting the phone in airplane modes. When I disable airplane modes and have my WIFI disabled I can browser through my phone network but Android OS still drains the battery. After I reboot everything is back to normal, as long as I leave my WIFI off.
- I've installed various nightlies and have had the same problem on all of them.
- I've done both a firmware update and a factory reset of my wireless router: Linksys E2000.
- I've both enabeld and disabled the Google Location reporting.
The problem still occurs and I can (with a random time) reproduce it. If anyone can help me debug or solve this problem that'd be great!
Assuming you have CWM in use as recovery, enter CWM. Do a format on /system from mounts menu. Then do a factory reset. Install latest nightly from SD and voila. That worked for me a while back.

Hi, I've installed the 20141106-NIGHTLY yesterday, everything was working great, I updated to the 20141107-NIGHTLY today and now I don't have notification sounds, vibration and light, most of the audio files I select under Notification Sound are detected as Unknown Ringtone, the battery notification light is not working too, I wiped and restored factor settings through recover and installed the 20141106-NIGHTLY but its still the same, changing the color of the light confirms that the notification light is still working but does not activate wen it should.
Nevermind, I cleaned all my setting and reconfigured, it solved the problem
Hi friends, how can we root this ROM?
Thanks
As other users in the thread about solks2 CM11, I am affected by thebrandom reboot thread. Hello,
I also have a bug when trying to use google now via bluetooth (stuck on a screen with "initializing" written). I tried several workarounds from the internet but without success. Some suggest that a2dp should be disabled but I didn't find an option to disable it... Anyone managed to make google now work with bluetooth?
I am unable to record videos, anyone else having this issue?
EDIT: I just updated to the latest NIGHTLY, still unable to record videos, in a week or so I'll go on vacation for the holidays and I really need to record some videos, so if someone knows whats wrong please help me, thank you

Community,
I would really appreciate some help with my S4 WiFi issue which is killing me for about 8 weeks. I have tried like everything i could find on the internet, but i cant find a solution that works for me. Time to hookup in the XDA and hoping for that one magic trick. I'm a little experienced and really no moaner or lazy technician, but i can't find any solution. Things i have tried:
- Battery removal while the phone is on.
- Slapping the phone on the backside.
- Reseating WiFi cable after removing the grey back from the phone.
- Editing build.prop
- Editing/removing WPA-SUPLLICANT file.
- Factory reset.
- Numerous of other ROMS.
- Uploaded the new Modem file, nothing worked.
- Tried to downgrade to 4.3, but it seems once your on 4.4.2, there is no way back.
- Disabling WiFi in Service Mode.
- Tried the "WiFi Fixer" App.
None of them seem to work in my case. Any suggestions you guys have to help a brother out?
Try to do a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition via a recovery and then flash the official rom again (obviously the flashing part is done with odin).
Hope this helps, let me know if not.

Well in principle the stock rom should be better , unmanipulated if you will , if the problem is present wit a stock rom is most likely it will be present in a custom rom
When it first showed this problem? , similar problems happen when you have a bootloader / modem mismatch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50787570&postcount=2549
when using custom kernels sometimes too but if you are stock that is not the case
You could try a different modem ( check page 1 of the post i gave you) , also did you try switching the power save mode of the wifi off (*#0011#)??

That is from a stock rom.
After all you have done and if you tried different roms I start to believe it may be hardware related, i was going to suggest to try a different kernel but in a way you already had .....
When the problem first showed up? , if you scan for wifi networks can you see then? what happen when you try to connect? you said when you had NK4 it worked for five minutes.....did you try it again and see if it works again even if only for 5 minutes??

I can't enable WiFi. By drop down and through settings. What happens is that the WiFi button lights up, like it's trying to enable the WiFi card, but fails after a couple of seconds, no error code is displayed. Scan is greyed out. I have got it working on NK4 for 5 minutes yes, and then it broke again. Already tried the exactly same rom again, but no success.
The problem showed up couple of weeks ago. Not directly after the upgrade to 4.4.2. But after a couple of days after the upgrade through OTA.

In case you might suspects it is an hardware issue, i might let it resolve by the Samsung store in my city, since it still has warranty.
