Try re flashing the rom. This is most probably caused due to not following the right procedures. If still persists. Try flashing another stock rom package as the earlier may have been corrupt.
Hit thanx if helped.

It was because of the custom kernel(despair) I flashed, after flashing the stock kernel it was solved.
Anyways thanks for the reply.

Hi,
I have an international GSM Nexus S. It's a good phone, but there's a problem: the camera flashlight is not working properly. I'm currently on JB. Whenever I turn the phone off and back on, and go to the camera app and take a single picture with flashlight TURNED ON, it works, however, after that, however many pics i take, the flash simply does not work. I've tried choosing 'auto flash', 'flash on' etc, but the light doesnt work after taking the very first picture untill I do a reboot (the process repeats). The flash isn't working on LED/torch apps either. I updated the phone to JB as soon as I got it, so I don't know if the problem was present on gingerbread too (btw I got a used one). I'm trying out custom ROMs now, but all of them have the exact same problem! What is wrong here? I tried googling it but got pretty much nothing out of it. Any suggestion is appreciated!
Can you enable the flashlight as a torch? If so it could just be the camera app (must be). Try cm10 it has a modified camera app.

Very strange. It works once so it is not a hardware defect.
I would try a FULL wipe and start fresh. SD card/internal storage included. Flash the official factory images and try the camera with just that installed. No apps or anything.
If the problem persist, I don't know what to tell you.

No, thats the problem :/... flash only works on the official camera app ONCE after a reboot. No torch app is working!

I have tried fully wiping several times and installing many ROMs and also cleared SD card many times, but no luck. Btw i flashed JB for the first time by flashing a zip from CWM which unrooted the phone completely and installed official JB. Maybe the flashing was correpted homehow? Ill try the factory image, but please rexommend me some noob frindly tutorials on how to flash factory image. Also i just realized that the proximity sensor does not work, and the g - sensor calibration is a little bit off, which also didnt fix by installing many roms. Could it be water damage? I cant see any signs of anything like that though, because the phone is in excellent condition!
Try go back to gb or ics and test. I think its deffective hardware. If you still have warranty, bring it to Samsung services

No warrenty unfortunately since its a used phone... I have tried almost everything now. The only thing remaining to try is the fctory image, if that doesnt fix it, what can you do about it? Will have to live with it the way it is . Ill report hopefully once ive flashed the image!
i think it seems hardware problem. i'm using well with torch app on cm10!

If this doesn't work then it is a hardware issue.

So after 6 long hours of trying to figure out how to flash the factory image, I finally did it! The bad news is, flashlight is still the same, and so is the proximity sensor (not working!)... I thank you all for co-operating, but unlickily, I probably have a faulty phone. Going to cry a river now

Hi,
I rooted my phone 2 days ago and installed custom ROM everything went well, except for today my phone start to lag too much, so I decided to flash back the stock ROM that I have downloaded from Sam-mobile using Odin 3.08, but now my device not responding to anything and even I get "Process system isn't responding" in Samsung wizard installation also the sound disappeared and when try lunch any app like camera I get message "camera failed" and keep getting "Process system isn't responding".
[[The Solution]] for Process system isn't responding follow the steps: ((ONLY SM-N9005))
1-Unroot your phone if you are rooted.
2-Factory rest your phone and clear cache. .
3-Flash the Stock rom for your device.(if this fixed the the problem stop here if not continue to step 4)
4-Download this ROM and flash it by Odin 3.04.(this rom somehow managed to restore my EFS files and fixed the problem)
and that's it.

Oh man, I though I was the only one having this problem. I really don't now how to fix it at all, I've tried flashing stock ROM and I still get the same problem. If anyone can help, I'd be so grateful.
This sounds a lot like the issue I've been having (see details in the thread I posted here).
Any insight would be very welcome.
Yup bad root (it can and does happen the odd time!), clear cache etc in download mode, then reflash the new Stock ROM, then wipe cache etc again in download mode. See if that helps.
Similar issue I had previously after I originally rooted was apps kept closing and saying stopped working. When I wiped the ROM and updated via KIES to MJ7 with wiping cache etc, it seems to have done the trick.
EDIT: Also try ODIN 3.07 rather than 3.08

Maybe just return it, play stupid with the phone shop staff, probably won't notice the flashing anyway.

Unfortunately I've tried all of this too (except using Kies, it won't recognise my phone though I'd never tried it before now) to no avail.
I might try a warranty swap, but I'm concerned because the system status shows custom and I'm unsure there's any way to reset it. I suppose my only chance is to try for an on-the-spot swap for a new phone, because if it gets sent back to Samsung I expect they'd reject it due to the system status.
Still can't understand why the issue persists beyond reflashing the stock rom...

No problem, am so happy for you :highfive:
It started suddenly a day after I installed a custom rom,all i get is wifi is turning on...same for bluetooth,3g works tho.I tried factory reset, same problem,i also tried installing another custom rom but same. When I intalled the new custom rom I did all the wipes needed(format system data cache...).Do you think it's a hardware issue?
If you're still running the custom ROM, try to reinstall it but do not do the wipes, just reinstall and reboot. Good luck.

Which Note 3 do you have and which custom ROM are you using? Try installing a different or stock ROM and see if the problem still persists.

What do you mean default ???
Default is whatever you flashed last .
You have done something that has broken it firmware wise hopefully .
So i suggest you boot to recovery Mounts and Storage .
Format system data cache .
Boot to download mode and flash stock rom through Odin .

Say According to the technical service is that my problem is hardware (wifi-bluetooth module) is the same module for both functions. It is difficult to repair because if it goes wrong you lose your phone or get a new motherboard.
Your problem seems software but does not work with stock firmware.
you have to buy another phone or change the motherboard if you use a lot these functions.
There is a possibility that the EFS folder was modified.
so it is recommended to back up this folder periodically changing ROM
I excused my English (google translator) I think the idea is understood ...
