I didn't want to post this in the ROM Development forum because it doesn't apply to a specific ROM, but this is a question about them.
I am looking for a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM that has Bluetooth and the OLD version of Pocket Internet Explorer. I really only use IE to stream MLB games, and the new IE is INCREDIBLY slow for that task. I use Opera Mini for everything else, but MLB requires IE. And I listen to the games through Bluetooth stereo headphones, so I need that too.
FingerMe Titanium's Lite version almost has it. There's a version with the old PIE but no Bluetooth, and a version with Bluetooth but the new PIE. I've looked around at all the ROMs in the Development forum but I haven't found a stripped-down one that has the specific combination I'm looking for: WM6.5, Bluetooth and old PIE.
I know a lot of people that read this are going to say, "Use a kitchen and build one yourself". Believe me, I've tried. I played with SuperJustKitchen and got close, but I think I just lack the required cooking skills necessary to produce exactly what I want in a ROM. About eighty failed recipes have convinced me of this.
Anyway, if someone out there can point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks a lot.
I have to admit my first instinct was to jump your case for posting this. Technically it is a ROM development question, general though it is, and should be in that forum. No worries though, you did have some forethought on the matter instead of blindly posting wherever, so you get +1 for that.
However, you didn't look too hard lol, because illconcepts StripTease: Lots to Love edition is what you are looking for, and it has been around for a while now.

Wow, yeah, that is perfect. Thank you for the lead. I guess I stopped reading at the first version of that one when I didn't see what I was looking for. Oops. Looks like Black and Blue might work too.
I posted in the main forum because it looks like most of the posts in the development forum are for specific ROMs, and I didn't want to start a new thread that didn't involve one of those specifically. Turns out I didn't even need to post a question at all, just not be so lazy.
Thanks again.

Lol it's all good. illconcepts updates that thread periodically, so it may not have been there the first time you looked, although he hasn't edited the thread in a couple weeks. Glad I could help.
Sorry if wrong place, I didn't see anything for lesser-known devices, or for this specific unit running Android.
Dynavin is a company that makes Generic replacement/upgrade automobile Nav equipment. Originally it was WinCE based, but they began in April selling and Android variant. I'm just now reading up on it myself, but there are questions about rooting it and fixing some small aggravations, like GPS zulu time, that I'd expect this community could easily accomplish. The best place I know to learn about it is a BMW site, E46fanantics.
Here's a link to a relevant thread there: oops, I'm too new, can't do a real linke, hope this works. forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=839753&page=93
I think this is an awesome development, should end up like Ford's "Sync" for the open community.
Mods, please move to the appropriate place if I've screwed up on location.

ADS
you can try rooting by superoneclick
some specs of the device would help more
I'm a Galaxy S user and love cyanogenmod roms.. simple, clean.. I just like them.
I just picked up a Nexus 7 and I'm trying to decide what ROM to run. I downloaded this ROM - cm-10.1-20130324-NIGHTLY-grouper.zip any comments, suggestions, etc?
Will I need to install gapps like I do when I update on my phone?
What's the best Kernel to run with the Nexus?
Any other suggestions, must have Nexus apps/tweaks feel free to mention.
Thanks!

most the time you get flame for asking these questions but do some reading, search and have fun.
yeah.. I've read through multiple posts but theres nothing like having someone read your questions and know exactly what you want to hear. Especially someone familiar with both products (the nexus and the galaxy s). I'm installing/playing with a couple different roms currently. Haven't touched any kernels yet.
Any 'must have' audio or video tweaks that you recommend?
Thanks for the reply and suggestions and the heads up on the flames. I kind of expected them.

I have been researching for a while buy have not found quite what I'm looking for... I am planning to switch to android from my iPhone... I have owned a iPhone since they first came out. I have been doing a lot of research as of yet because I am eligible for and upgrade here in a week or two. I have decided on the galaxy s4. Amazing specs compared to my 4s!!! I plan on using the smart dock to connect to a monitor/keyboard at home and a Motorola 'lap dock' on the go (of course with a slight cable mod) as seen on tech crunches news article showing a raspberry pi as a 'laptop'. The most research I have been doing has been on software, I am going to run ubuntu 'along side' my android. There are apps I can use after I root the s4 like 'Debian kit' or 'complete Linux installer' but I am really wondering If there are any other options that I can do without using a vnc to 'connect' into the GUI? Like simply opening an app once everything is installed and running correctly. Or quite literally similar to the Ubuntu for android solution. Now I know that once I'm able to set everything up its not going to run like a super computer, nor do I really expect it to. I simply want to consolidate a lot of My computing.

Hello All,
I recently installed a test game console emulator to see if it would work on my android head unit. Gladly, the emulator works and seems to operate at full speed. However, I tried to use my wireless xbox 360 controller and wireless receiver but it seems the system does not recognize it. I also tried using the xbox one bluetooth controller, but the system did not detect the controller via bluetooth. I then tried to install the wiimote but the wiimote controller app crashes once it detects the wiimote. Their website says they do not support android 4.2 and above yet.
Has anyone been interested in gaming on their android head unit and if so, have you tried using a variety of controllers? What has worked, and what hasn't?
I'm not too sure about what my android system's name is...it came in a generic white box. But I've posted pictures of the unit and information if that helps.
Thanks,
Scott
Gen Game New S3 is android 4.0+ I got it with my vr headset and use it with my firestick mostly, but it is legit straight across xbox similar. I have not tested it on a head unit but it's shown to be versatile thus far. You may need to get a bluetooth usb dongle but I doubt it.
USB dongle. Didn't think if that. Great idea! Thanks!
did the usb dongle work? mine didnt.

have you seen this issue addressed in these forums? been searching for weeks. and yes, we have an android tesla style head unit. we could open new threads, but i feel for continuity purposes and to help out those searching some closure here is warranted.

Since you still haven't figured it out, here's some helpful advice - you have a better chance of getting a useful response if you learn how to post in the correct forum.

well aware of that, but see that was immensely more helpful than your other post. suggest having the mods then move this to the correct area; going back to my earlier post about continuity. people who google will be drawn here, and not necessarily to my new post so it would probably be more efficient to move than post.
edit: actually, i DID post in a similar thread in the head unit section. so theres actually two threads about this. but i still suggest moving this.
If after reading the forums as you said, you would have found that it is not possible due to the hacky BT on these copycat devices
Also, if you wanted the thread moved, report it. I have.

Also note numerous posts on why other BT devices, do not work on these hacked Chinese head units.
not sure “it is not possible” is a fact; or more likely improbable. there is a youtube video of an nvidia controller working on bt. i wanted to see if an xbox one controller works which i already own, instead of buying another controller.
Is anyone else having the issue that their controller buttons are binded to head unit controls from factory? I'm trying to play emulated games and the buttons do things like close the app, open the radio app, dim screen, etc etc
