Hello everyone! I realize that this question may have been asked in the past but not specifically. Here is the dilemma:
I want to use different color chat bubbles: ie transparent, or the NON stock ones provided in the stock SMS app.
I want to use the STOCK SMS app in the Galaxy S4 SGH-I337.
I have tried several methods to change the bubbles and colors without success.
I have searched and read the few threads in the forum regarding the topic and have had no success.
I really like the stock app and would love to figure out how to snap in some new bubbles / colors.
Anyone who can point me in the right direction or provide me with a quick small guide to get the job done will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank You to anyone who can help.

copy your SecMms_candy.apk from system/priv-app/SecMms_candy to your desktop and extract it via winrar, then you will see those pngs,
rename you new pngs to those pngs,
then open the SecMms_candy.apk with winrar & Don't extract it. push those pngs, to their right place, then copy it to your phone, and delete arm folder there.

Im new to this forum, never done much messing about with smart phones I get by with pcs.
I got an x1i yesterday so far ive got TF3D working installed a couple of panels, xperia tweak. I installed diamond tf3d config and i keep getting an unexpected error when i try to open it. Everything else im relatively happy with. But at the moment im unable to change backgrounds or themes, if someone has the time i would really appreciate an idiots guide to changing themes and backgrounds on tf3d. And i mean idiots guide, I have looked for a guide but the one i found kept getting a 404.
So from start to finish if you have the time or patience thanks, any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance
Changing backgrounds in TF3d is easy, just go to the settings tab and hit wallpaper, then search for the pic you want on your phone and select it.
If your looking for wallpapers you can start with my thread HERE, these are all formated to fit TF3d nicely.
to get the background to show up in all tabs, I recommend using mun_rus's mUn background4allpages.cab There are also several applications out there for further modding your phones appearance, I suggest using the Forum's Search feature, your bound to find some useful info.
Thanks very much had tried 2 other background for all tabs apps, but none of them seemed to work. Thankyou
Does anyone have any idea why diamond config gets an error when starting?
or search for nixx-x1 post explaining how to create your own bckgrnd for all tabs

Hi there,
Please don't shoot me down if the info I'm asking for her is already on the forums but I've been trying to find it for ages.
I saw a picture of Asus lamborghini ZX1 a while ago and wondered whether I cold get the same theme on my XDA Orbit. The closest I've found is someone else on here who's started to make one that can be loaded using the M2D software.
What I'd like to do is try to create my own. I've looked all over the place but can't find any help on how to do it. Can anyone direct me towards a website explaining how to create themes that I can install using the M2D software?
This might be a simple question but I just cant find it anywhere.
Cheers,
YP

Unfortunately it is not as simple as throwing some .png and .jpg files into a ThemeGen and out pops a theme. It is, sometimes tedious, editing of xml files. For a better understanding look here.

Please refer to the Q&A next.

Hi master themers
I have been trying to theme the phandroid app to no avail. I wanted it basically to be the same as the xda app.
I managed to swap out all the .pngs needed and even edit the xml files to give a black backgroud and white (and gray) text, signed etc... Installs fine too, but then just force closes after a little while, without being able to do anything.
Just the png's works fine, but the text doesn't work and still leaves BG's white
Unfortunately there are so many references to bg and text colour within the xml's, theres no way around editing them. Once I got past all the errors recompiling I managed to sign etc, Still no Joy
Its unbelievable just how desperate I am to get this black themed for better battery life (AMOLED screen). But after 3 hours of messing around, I have to stop - defeated.
As I am a complete amateur, I was hoping one of you kind souls would possibly help me out please? I have been using apk manager myself. If anyone is really experienced with theming existing apks, including at an xml level, I would certainly love to hear from you...
Thanks in advance
EDIT> forgot to mention, the version in particular I am trying to theme is this one:
http://phandroid.com/dump/android-market-publish-fail-lol.apk
Or if anyone in the know could suggest a better method, or where I could be going wrong please?

Hey folks, quick question. I tried to read up on this but there is SO much information that I can't seem to get a good direction to start in.
I would like to make a market app, to change battery icons to what I have created. I would also like to make them compatible with most roms if possible and foremost, I would like the app to make a backup file within the app so users can flash back their old icons at any time and choose from different colors I have to offer.
I have read through this guide and looked at this as well. Is there something more streamlined to be able to do what I want to do or is the first guide sufficient enough? Thanks in advance, any help or input would be appreciated
I'm pretty sure to change the battery icon you need to have root access.
I would suggest having a look at the theming section of the forum, because what you wan't is what they are doing there, replacing stock icons/images and styles with custom ones.
I think there are even apps or programs to flash the themes for you
Hey everyone. As is evident from my post count, I'm new here, so HI!
OK now, I've tried googling around to find custom fonts that are displayed correctly on my Galaxy s + (i9001) or any other android phone for that matter, but to my dismay I've not had any luck finding a well-organized list of fonts that have been tried and tested on android phones and that display correctly (my googling skills may not be the best ). Till now, I've come across just 2 other fonts that are just the right size (not so small that you have trouble reading them, and not so big so as to be a nuisance) and they are the "Sony Sketch" and "Ironwood" fonts.
I've looked around XDA for a post compiling the most used and liked fonts, but almost all of the posts regarding fonts are made by users asking how to apply a custom font, or asking to have a font created for them. I hope I've posted this in the right place and that I'll get some good font suggestions. I'll start the thread off with screenshots of two fonts I use regularly.
The screenshots attached are of "Sony Sketch" and "Ironwood". Incase any other i9001 users don't know how to take a screenshot of their mobile screens, it's done by pressing and holding the back button and then the home button
Anything wrong with these?

Go to your display menu on settings, on there you will find 'fonts' choose 'get more fonts' it will redirect you to an app on the market... When downloaded there are a lot of decent fonts on that. I use ubuntu Cheers.
