Samsung Galaxy S5 Active - CM12 issues - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I'm trying to get the CM12 klte ROM of the S5 on my S5 Active but I'm having some trouble at one of the steps. Maybe someone can help?
I've followed this guide
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_klte
I'm got all the way up to step 10 of installing a custom recovery but when I try and boot to recovery using UP VOL/HOME/POWER, it says...
could not do normal boot
odin mode
Product name: SM G870W
Current Binary: custom
System Reset: official
Reactivation Lock (kk): off
knox warranty void: 0x1 (4)
...
It's as if the custom recovery ROM doesn't work or was never loaded although all previous steps indicated that it did.
Any ideas?

Dammmnn will anyone fricking help here ?
Helping s5 active users doesn't hurt tall know.
I having this same issue too again

Being rude and impatient will not get you help any faster, you arent entitled to anything so just be patient and wait for an answer.

Sure. Questions about sm-g870w phones or s5 active in general even worst Canadian one. Are never answered we can't get help and we can't get our own section. So asking me to wait!!!! Yeah I have too but instead of asking me to just wait read all threads.
And see if there's any help. Oh and I swear I've been waiting. S6 is out. Lollipop is out. And since we can't get our own section there's no way to accualy get help. Specific to us.

New S4 I9505 and Knox question

Hi guys,
I'm getting my new 9505 one Wednesday and coming from an S2 I9100, I was reading a lot on those forums regarding Knox.
So just wanna ask if I read it correctly, as far as I'm not concerned of getting the 0x1 flag and that my warranty is now void, I can flash every rom and kernel from the I9505 development forum, is that right?
Or do I need to be aware of something, every answer and help is appreciated, thanks in advance

http://www.droidreport.com/how-root-samsung-galaxy-note-3-running-android-442-kitkat-xxuenb3-6273 here you go good luck having any fun with Knox though. That is your version to. SM-N9005. You will trip Knox with this. Which you can't change back :banghead:
BTW not liable for any bricks that occur. You are choosing to make these modifications your self and I can't help if you turn your phone into a useless brick.
Good luck.

ohh my sorry for my 1million question... but what is KNOX?? looks like note 3 is much more complex than s3 huh? i want to use custom rom....
Knox is the security precaution behind Samsung now. Its just basically saying you rooted your phone. Does your phone come with a locked bootloader or are you unlocked by default? Knox will also stop you from downgrading. If you try your phone is straight dead... But you should be able to use safesteap I think.... I think safe strap is out for this one. I can see if I can find it if you would like...

Well think, there's always a chance to brick any device. I thought I bricked my phone I was stuck in a massive bootloop a few weeks ago. lol. But as long as you follow instructions you should be okay Just read, read, and read the instructions over and over, are you on Verizon? If so you have a locked bootloader. Nobody has found a way to bypass the bootloader like the G2 has with the loki flash. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. But for right now, the only thing that the Note 3 has is safestrap. Which someone correct me if I'm wrong again. Before you do anything, do you care about voiding the warranty??
Would also suggest to go to settings and make sure re-activation lock is set to "OFF" before flashing...
Just trip the knox counter and install custom ROM then you can use your NOTE 3 at its full potential. I would also suggest to root using cf-autoroot via Odin Mode. Worked every time for me. Good luck on rooting.

It's not really advisable to tell people to "Just trip the knox counter and install custom ROM" when they have just got the device and have a lot to read up on still. - Especially when the first question they ask is "Can I root my Note 3?"
It's easier regardless of your opinon or anyone else's to let the OP know the facts, the risks and the issues that may come and let them decide. :good:
Welcome to XDA also

You are in the wrong forum, go to the Note 3 Sprint forum for more information.
The official Note 3 xda forum can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint
There is nothing that can reset the knox issue since the issue is not software
related but it's in the actual hardware of the phone.
Good luck!

A bit look around does help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52329946&postcount=76
@ OP Please get this thread deleted/ change title to Exynos or remove the attached file as this is only for Exynos users and wont work on Snapdragon so it's advisable not to mention anything which might lead someone with a bricked device. The file attached is an official bootloader for Exynos for resetting Knox I checked those files and it contains Sboot.bin which is only meant to run over an Exynos Note 3 and Snapdragon uses Aboot, anyone here getting attracted to the title please ignore it as this is not meant to be done except on Exynos Note 3! Thank you!

The demand is not the issue.

Hmm you think. Because if this particular phone sold millions and there were lots more people who wanted to root it there would be an root option for certain.

Demand doesn't make exploits pop up.

The more demand there is for exploits the more people you will have looking for exploits. There is no demand at this point

I think I bricked my Galaxy S5 Active G870A Lollipop 5.1.1
So I tried to downgrade my phone to Kit Kat and thought I had followed the instructions. I installed Odin and ran it the way I was instructed and it passed. I tried to flash the updates needed via external SD card and the updates seemed to be going well. Yet just before its done I see this red error "sideload install/*something* error (Status 7). My friend and have tried presumably everything but it won't flash the stock or any other ROM. If I'm in boot mode and try to use Odin it will fail with Fail Auth Success 0/Failed 1. Not sure what I can do. Any help would be great. Again Odin does not seem to work. Also, if I can't fix it would AT&T replace it with the insurance I have.
you CAN NOT downgrade, take it to at&t dealer and pray
