Got ATT to switch me to a 32GB, what do I need to do to return to stock?

I used motochopper to root my S4. I got the 16GB version obviously 26 days ago.
I got ATT to let me exchange it for a 32GB model.
What do I need to do to return this back to stock so I can ship it back to ATT?

Not sure on the counter or even if it was tripped by rooting to be honest. In recovery you should be able to see the counter. At least I was able to on my Skyrocket. If my memory serves me right, the counter only increases when flashing things via odin, but someone more knowledgable than me could give better insight. That's how it was on the gs2 Skyrocket anyway. You are returning to ATT with a fully functional device and not Samsung for a repair of some kind, so it should be irrelevant for them. I doubt anyone working there even knows what the counter is never mind how to check it *good*

I did read Adams thread and I already thought of using ODIN but I thought that the flash counter also needed something done to revert that back.

The official firmware you will be flashing won't increase it or shouldn't anyway. Just remembered mine on the rocket only increased once because the stock image I flashed back to had been modified in some particular way. The stock images on sammi mobile and those extracted from kies for your use should not trip it

Not ignorant at all. If you would have read the "root" and the "return to stock" posts you would have found the answers and maybe learned a little more along the way. Getting pissed off at others because you didn't take the time needed to find the answer is just sad. And claiming you read a post (when you obviously didn't or you would have found the answer) is sadder. I'm not trying to bust your balls here, but you are wrong for not searching for the answer in the first place and then wrong again for acting pissy when someone took the time to tell you what you needed to do to find the answer. Good luck if you don't learn anything from this and decide to keep doing things to your phone, because you are going to need it.

[Q] Want to update SM-N900V To 4.4.2

Good morning guys, Please pardon my ignorance if you find anything dumb about this post, I just switched back to Android yesterday.
I want to side load 4.4.2 on my Verizon Note 3 Using Odin. I found this write up here --
http://androidcentral.us/2014/01/update-galaxy-note-3-to-android-4-2-2-kitkat/
A couple of things that concerned me were it has to be factory unlocked. "Make sure your phone is factory unlocked. It is compatible for both users". Being that it is global ready does that mean it is "unlocked"?
I know I should root but being that I just got it I want to make sure there is not anything wrong with it first etc as I heard once rooted its irreversible and Samsung would know (correct me if I am wrong).
Any follow up insight would be great thanks guy.
First question. Are you with Verizon? If yes, is the the developer edition? If no, then DO NOT FLASH THIS. The link you posted is for the international version of the note 3. Being able to use a Verizon n3 globally via adding that plan does not make it unlocked.
Also. There are a few other threads on this same exact topic.

If it is a developer edition. I know there ate more ROM options available for you to choose from. I think cm11 has been released, but I'm not sure. Search around.
I hope I caught you before you tried anything.

If you were to flash that it would most likely brick your phone. Just because you root your phone doesn't mean that it's permanently rooted or that "samsung will know". It's not hard to get rid of root access either. If you have never rooted a device before I suggest you do a little research on how to root your specific device before you start. There are a lot of write ups on XDA and other sites that will provide some very helpful information. I've read countless posts of people who rooted and started messing with files that they didn't know what they were for and ended up with a paperweight for a phone, all because they didn't take the time to search and read the forums first.

Ha ha ha! You are funny man... Did you just say Verizon and root in the same sentence? Lol I can guarantee you that Verizon has this bad boy LOCKED down just like AT&T will too. I made the switch to T-Mobile and while the coverage is not as good, I can root and rom ALL of my devices that I paid for.
is there an OS X version? we never get love

I did the same for the very same reason. Verizon's coverage was amazing, but everything was completely locked down, so I'm now on t mobile.
The T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge will be the first Galaxy phone i've owned. I've heard about KNOX but is/has there ever been a root method for Galaxy devices that doesn't trip knox? And is it easy or possible to untrip knox?

It will probably be 6 or more months before Verizon variant is rooted,.
Note 4 is still not rooted.
@owenbeals, I noticed that you don't mention anything about the consequences of tripping Knox. There are noobs watching your stuff who aren't even sure what rooting is, much less what tripping Knox would do. I would hate to see one of them find out that they have voided their warranty the hard way on such an expensive device. IMO, it would a good idea to mention what tripping Knox does in the OP in red letters to warn people who otherwise wouldn't know.

So maybe the Vietnam ones t mobile have are having all the faults
Will there be a way to unroot (I recall the Superuser app having an option) or will we need a recovery? It's been about a year since I had an android device and rooted an android device so I don't know if the that process got any better.
You can unroot in SuperSU app

[Extremely Confused] Rooting the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and flashing Cyanogenmod 12.1

Hi I recently got a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and I despise Touchwiz. It looks ugly and more importantly it makes my phone extremely sluggish (it feels like my Moto G when it would run out of RAM). I want to root and put a ROM that's as near stock as possible (I'm assuming CM12.1 is the best option for that) but I haven't rooted since the Galaxy S2 so all the information I'm reading is super overwhelming. All these stickied posts seem rather outdated coming from like 2014 and such. I'm on 5.1.1 and I honestly just want as lagfree of an experience as possible. Can someone here please help me acheive this? I've been researching for 2 weeks now and I'm horribly confused. I keep reading about custom kernels and all that but all I want is my phone to not suck.
You'll get more answers in the correct forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help
Have you tried a different Launcher first though? TouchWiz Launcher is terrible, Nova Launcher is what a lot of people use, myself too, super fast, smooth with 100x more customisation options

I'm not rooted. I'm confused because when I try to figure out how to root and flash my phone all I see is a bunch of different guides and I'm not sure which is the one I should do.
Not sure if the T-Mobile bootloader is locked, I know the Verizon one is, and another US carrier, if it is locked, it's a PITA
If it's not, flash CF Auto Root for the G900F with ODIN

Best do some reading before messing if you don't know how to use ODIN
And no, I don't believe it works with 5.1.1, there is a thread about rooting 5.1.1

Was the same for me when I got mine, I spent 2-3 weeks reading every single thread I could before I decided I knew enough to root and be confident I wasn't going to brick it
And that was after I was already well experienced with Android, just a different device
Don't try taking shortcuts is my advice, asking for help and guides is one thing, but reading absolutely everything you can first is the only sure way to not kill your phone

Way to root Verizon Note 4 ?

I am pretty new to rooting a phone but i was just looking around for a way to root my verizon note 4 SM-N910V on Android 5.0.1.
I tried googling and reading up on it but I have never rooted a phone before so I did not know exactly how to do it.
Sorry if this is an unnecessary post, thanks !

sorry friend, you picked one of the worst development phones. nothing yet. Im hoping someday but its not looking great. My advice, find someone to trade their Tmobile note 4 for your VZW one. Thats what Im trying to do
ebay rooted ones?
I thought Tmobile note 4 wouldn't work on VZW? with custom ROM?
Saw some rooted Verizon Note 4 on eBay. I wonder if those were rooted before VZW locked the bootloader.
Would I be stuck with 4.4.4 if I get those?

The bootloader has always been locked, since day one. If they're rooted, they are development edition phones. There never has been root for this phone, and the bootloader has been locked down since day one.
