[Q] difference between bnl and boa - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i've been wondering whats the difference in xxu1bnl9 and xxu1boa3. i know this has something to do with baseband and regionality, but these both seem to work on my g900f european version. I live in Finland and currently using Joeldroid 2.0.1.

When I was updating my phone to BOA3 the only thing that was in the change log was "Performance improvements" but I only noticed higher battery drain.

[Q] 2.3.4-134 Baseband Files, please?

Could anybody please extract the original baseband files from the Leaked GB 2.3.4 (4.5.1-134)?
I reaaally need them, cuz I installed the Baseband Switcher, and it tottally messed with my signal, now I'm using an Indian baseband, It's working, but I don't know, I'm not feeling safe with it.
Thank you so much.

The best baseband for Brazilian users to apply in this rom is International RT. It supports all of our frequencies...
Does it shows more efficiency than the 'stock' one [2.3.4 supports only 900/2100]? I mean, VIVO operates under 850/2100 frequencies, and I noticed since updated to 2.3 my battery is draining quite fast. May that be the problem?
Plus, When i switched to VIVO (VIVA, as shown in the baseband switcher app), my network got all messed up. Then I changed to this International one (found in EUROPE tab, isnt it?) and then the signal was working again. Isn't there any issue? I mean, both of them (The International in wich you mentioned) and VIVO (VIVA) operates under the same frequency, and only the International worked.
Thanks anyway (I know, we're both brazilians speaking english, that's weird haha)!
Obrigado! hehe

The battery drain it's not related with baseband....
All the roms that i tried, 2.2, 2.3, none of them worked with brazilian basebands, only with this International RT and I dont know why!! I GUESS, it's because i'm using an European ROM and the International RT is a european baseband and Brazilian's baseband belong to Americas ones.
I don't know but i have read somewhere here that if your baseband does not work properlly it would drain a high amount of battery.
I'll give it a try again. Cuz my battery is damn bad!
Btw, can you help me in this? It all started when I upgraded to 2.2, then my battery drains about 2.5%/hour. Is that normal? I upgraded then to 2.3 but didn't help too, still draining 2.5% in an hour... Cuz I guess when I was with 2.1 my battery used to last a little bit more. Already wiped dalvik/battery stats/cache, did a factory reset, etc.
Thanks again!

Many people say that 2.2 and 2.3 drain more battery than 2.1, which is strange because these versions should be save more battery, but about that I dont know what to do... I never realized the difference betwen them...
About the baseband, it will drain more battery if it have problems to find the signal, your cell phone will be looking for signal every time, draining your battery...

SVA ROM v10 - problem - can't find location

Hey guys, a few days ago I bought from ebay a used I9502. It came with SVA rom with android lolipop 5.0.1 preinstalled. I like the rom very much but i have a major issue. It is impossible to find my location using only wireless networks (wifi, 3g)(power saving mode). It can only find my location when using GPS and I am outdoors (high accuracy mode). I have tried to reset to factory but nothing changes.
Do you know what may cause this issue?
Thank you.
update
I have an update for those who might be interested.
I flashed the latest stock rom from sammobile to see if the problem continues. With the stock rom the location servicve works fine.
After a reseach I figured out that the SVA rom is missing "NetworkLocation" that's why it wont find my location using wireless networks.
The problem is that I discovered that the version of "NetworkLocation" I have, collects and sends data to Baidu(something like the chinese google). So I was wondering if any of you guys using an international lollipop Galaxy S4 would like to help me and send me his version of "NetworkLocations".

Stock Baseband and Superman ROM

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about flashing Superman ROM on my SM-G935F S7 Edge.
My stock firmware indicates that my baseband version is G935FXXU1BPHJ. The Superman ROM, on the other hand, uses G935FXXU1BPIF.
My question is the following: If I were to flash Superman on my phone, would this baseband difference affect my phone? Would radios fail to work or would I suffer from any other problems?
I'm using the phone in South America (Argentina) and the stock firmware works just fine, since this is the international variant of the phone. I am not that savvy when it comes to Android yet, since I'm pretty new to the platform.
Thanks.
Small p.s. questions: Is there anything in particular I need to disable before flashing a rom? Some security measures?

Does baseband version affect reception quality?

Hi, I'm on an S8 running ressurection remix.
I'm currently in a remote cabin and it seems that my friends and family running stock devices (not S8) get better reception than I do - we're even on the same carrier.
I'm wondering if the baseband version / modem version may have something to do with this - and if it's possible to flash the correct baseband for my region onto my current rom, and in that way restore performance?
If this is possible (and not pointless), please tell me how!
