I have a sprint note 3. I was running the MOAR rom and went to make a backup. The phone restarted as usual as it does before recovery mode. It. Said it was loading then just goes black. I plugged it up to the computer but it wouldn't recognize it even tho I installed the latest drivers. I took the battery out and tried again but the same b thing happens. Any suggestions?

Force download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power until you see a warning screen. Then use Odin to fix it. Maybe a fixed Recovery is enough. With bad luck your only way is a official update with Modem, BL, Kernel and stuff, too.

Thanks that was it. i flashed twrp again and it works fine now

[Q] Possibly bricked my Razr M...

Here's the story:
I rooted my phone, but unrooted using SU after uninstalling system apps and doing some other things. I used Safestrap to form a recovery, but uninstalled it since. Just recently, I rebooted my phone and saw the Safestrap screen at startup, which has happened since I uninstalled it. Not thinking, I tried to boot into its recovery mode, and my phone went black. I cannot turn on the device using any method, and it shows no signs of life. It will not charge and does not register as a USB device on my computer. Does anybody have a solution to this?

try a soft reset (power + volume down for 5-10 seconds)....
to get to recovery, try power + volume up + volume down
then use matt's utility to recover
Do you Remember how low your battery was when all this happened?
If you can get into ap fastboot mode and your battery is charged up enough use matts utility

[Q] Dumb rookie needs help-LG optimus L7 bricked

I rooted phone nicely. Then tried to flash the recovery through the CWM app, and after finishing installing, the app rebooted the phone, but it never booted to the menu. The phone worked fine, though. After, I found the new firmware update V20W_00.KDZ and tried to install it through the KDZ_FW_UPD app on the computer. When the program finished doing the process and showing me a message it has suceessfully finished, the phone tried to boot. It displayed the LG logo and the sound that comes with the animation. It stayed there for an hour. Phone can't boot. I can perfectly go through the emergency mode, and misteriously I can now go to the recovery CWM and emergency mode, too. Besides, when phone's completely off, it shows the charging battery animation when plugged to power adapter. Is there a way I can install any rom or something else from the recovery? I already tried the LG mobile support tool, but after downloading the update, it seems it has some sort of connection problem with the phone even though it's on emergency mode. HELP!

[Q] Phone boots, works, but has no recovery

I have a bit of a situation, I have the AT&T Galaxy s4, and I able to boot into it properly, it's running the Goldeneye ROM, all my apps are working, and I don't have the triangle, or the padlock custom logo. In other words my phone is working great, except for one thing. I ran triangle away, which I am beginning to think was a mistake, and ever since then, while the phone itself works great, I am absolutely unable to get into recovery mode at all. The phone acts like it's going to go into recovery, then boots normally. This would not be particularly bothersome, except I would like to be able to back up my phone in the event of something happening with it, which has happened once before. I've searched the forums, and everything I have come up with has solutions for a phone that is bricked, or otherwise won't boot, which does not apply to me. My phone works, and works well, I just want to be able to back the darn thing up, and have a recovery in case of emergency, or worse, I get bored and want to change roms.

Why don't you just download goomanager and install TWRP open script, or ROM manager and install clock work recovery?
When going into recovery (volume up+home+power) continue to hold the volume up+home once you feel the phone vibrate. If you hold the power to long it'll just cause it to boot normally. Make sure you're not holding power too long lol.

I tried ROM manager (I actually have to pro version, I purchased it a couple phones back) and it was showing that TWRP AND Clockwork were installed on the phone, but the phone will not boot into either. It shows the galaxy s4 logo, blue print that says recovery booting, then boots normally, Goldeneye rom has a boot to recovery option, the same thing happens, I even downloaded a boot to recovery app and ran that, same thing. It's like the recovery is there, but just will not open.

How about "dd"method using terminal emulator. I do understand it uses the same partition but give it a shot.

If ADB Terminal emulator doesn't work than I'm assuming somehow your recovery partition is broke. You may need to flash back to the stock amdl firmware through Odin.

I am going to be honest, as i've never had an issue remotely like this before, I am completely unfamiliar with what the "dd" method in terminal emulator is. I am more than willing to look it up, but honestly I am not even sure what parameters I would use to search that.

[***RESOLVED***][HELP] Did I brick it?

Ok, friend of mine has the LS980 (Sprint G2). Got my SGS3 today and got CM11 on it, he decided he wanted CM goodness. So, I rooted with IO method, no issues. Couldn't find anything about a bootloader needing unlocked, but found a CWM installer using FreeGee (because I had the VBA[?] OTA upgrade, needed a different aboot, and FreeGee does this automagically) in these forums. Cool, so I did that. Rebooted to recovery, performed nandroid, wipe data/cache/dalvik, flashed CM11, rebooted. Got a boot loop, stuck at the LG logo, rebooting indefinitely. Wiped data and cache a few more times, still doing it, so I restored, and rebooted. Now, it wont boot. Holding power does nothing. Holding VOL-UP or VOL-DOWN and power, does nothing. If I plug it into USB, theres a red flashing led next to the top speaker, but it wont charge past 0%, and still, nothing.
Have I bricked it? How would I go about doing this?
I should have known this would be a pain. Tried to do my brother's G1 a while back, and it was the biggest pain in the arse

He has sprint not att
Ok, so I was able to get booted back. It went right to the restored stock/rooted, but it's still boot looping when I flash CM11. I re-downloaded CM11 and gapps, re-flashed CWM. Maybe I'll try the manual aboot flash and flash recovery with flashy, or whatever tool it was, see if that helps.
When the device is powered off, hold volume up and plug the device into the usb cable that is connected to the computer. If download mode comes up then you can return to stock by using this.

That's how I was able to get back to stock I'll start another thread for the CM Boot Loop issue.
Fixed
Ok, I fixed the CM bootloop. Apparently, the modem from the ZVA OTA breaks AOSP ROMs, so I flashed the Furnace kernel, and the issues are completely resolved. I knew it had to be something simple, and I had a hunch that it was because of the ZVA update, and I was right. Thanks for the help, G2 bros and broettes. I'm going back to my Samsung world

[Q] LG G2 D802 Bricked..help me please

Hi!
I managed to get my device totally bricked.
Phone is on bootloop and I only get LG logo and then "Security Error" message. I can't enter recovery mode or download mode. Only mode I'm able to go is the "Hardware key control mode" mode, where I can see my IMEI code. I can't get windows or linux to recognize my phone. I've tried several drivers, but no luck getting my laptop recognize my phone. I have also tried couple of tutorials to solve this problem, but the main problem seems to be that I can't get my laptop to recognize my phone.
Is there anything I could do or should I just buy a new phone?
Hi Jutei,
What led to this bricking? Were you trying to install a ROM? Which ROM was it? Was it a wrong variant? Please be specific as to what you did to brick it..
Also, some people have seen success by installing this driver. Are you familiar with ADB?

Hi deathbytalkshow!
I ended up to this stage by rooting with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887) and trying to flash with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development-d802/rom-xenonhd-d802-t3036576).
First I wiped data and cache. Then rooted and it went trough with no problems. I tried to flash with this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager. It booted to recovery and started flashing. Soon it said that flashing failed and after reboot I found myself in this bootloop.
Hope this helps someone to help me.
Try this:
1. Turn phone off.
2. Press POWER+VOL DOWN
3. When LG Logo appears, immediately release POWER+VOL and press and hold VOL UP+VOL DOWN

Hi, I tried this and got to the factory reset window. It started to do reset, but pretty soon it booted and went back to bootloop. So this didn't help. I'll try those ADB drivers today.
Hi, tried adb drivers, but no luck. My laptop still doesn't recognize my phone. USB gives power, but beside that windows doesn't seems to notice that my device is plugged. Is there anything else I could try?
so you didnt make a backup before flashing? what recovery did you flash? i bricked my phone with rom manager before and will never use it again but i had a backup and was still able to get it to eventually boot into twrp to restore.

Yeah, I was stupid enough not to backup. The recovery was the stock one. Is that where I went wrong? Should I've had custom recovery installed?

I turned usb-debugging was on before phone got bricked. I think the phone should be found somehow on computer. For example this fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48765620#post48765620) needs Linux to recognize the phone, but I can't even do that. I guess the problem here is that my phone won't enter the download mode. I'm going to try with couple of different computers when I get back home from my holidays.
I also found another fix to try. I have to drain the battery and after a little re-charge I should be able to enter the download mode. I'm trying this next.
yes thats where you made your mistake. that also makes me think download mode wont work period, but im not positive. im surprised rom manager even tried to flash anything without a recovery. thats why i dont use apps like that anymore because you wouldnt of been able to **** it up that bad on your own. so you said you tried the key combo to take you to the factory restore? if you didnt flash a recovery then i would think you could get that to work. did you look into lg's flash tool? maybe that will somehow read it. i remember seeing a post in the general forum about a way to take the phone apart and short the chip out but ive never had to actually read it so i couldnt tell you whats all involved. sorry bout your phone.

Well, I just got myself in the same boat.
The phone will show the LG Logo then the security error and shut down. When plugged in with a USB to the PC it will just reboot.
Nothing is showing in Device Manager either. I done the same in the stock recovery and I tried to Side load CM12 it failed and straight into this loop.
I got nothing now. I just done see how shorting circuits will fix the issue when it's just software. Absolute nightmare as the 12 months warranty has gone.
I tried to do a hard reset and I get the android man saying its working then it shuts down and starts the error again. I'm unable to get in the Download Mode either and I'm stuck
I don't know what to do now. The flash and Support tool will not recognize the phone.
jfletch86, I tried LG Flash Tool, but the problem is that it just says no devices found. Same problem with fix I linked, I can't do anything to my phone if my laptop doesn't find it. I'm beginnig to loose hope

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that you are in the same boat. Symptoms are the same. It seems that we have bricked our phones pretty badly. Hopefully someone comes up with fix that works. Problem is that anyone wise enough to fix this isn't stupid enough to end up this stage.
I'm hoping the same too. I just don't know why it wont allow me to do anything.
I have a nexus 4 and I've never had a problem.
I am getting nothing when plugged into my PC and its like the phone is turning on and off in the boot loop and the lg symbol.
I get the hard reset menu but the computer still doesn't recognise.
I just feel sick at the moment !!
