Here's the story:
I rooted my phone, but unrooted using SU after uninstalling system apps and doing some other things. I used Safestrap to form a recovery, but uninstalled it since. Just recently, I rebooted my phone and saw the Safestrap screen at startup, which has happened since I uninstalled it. Not thinking, I tried to boot into its recovery mode, and my phone went black. I cannot turn on the device using any method, and it shows no signs of life. It will not charge and does not register as a USB device on my computer. Does anybody have a solution to this?

try a soft reset (power + volume down for 5-10 seconds)....
to get to recovery, try power + volume up + volume down
then use matt's utility to recover
Do you Remember how low your battery was when all this happened?
If you can get into ap fastboot mode and your battery is charged up enough use matts utility

I rooted my G2 about two months ago. I'm currently using MIUI, not the latest but the one before it. Somehow, my phone got turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, it was stuck in a bootloop. I have a custom recovery image so I don't know if that affects anything. I tried to reboot into recovery by pressing volume down and power, nothing happened. I then did volume up and power. It vibrated three times and the orange light started flashing. I pulled the battery and now when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. So how do I reboot into recovery and so I can restore my backup? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Never pull the battery during something like that. It sounds like your bricked. Someone else confirm?
I don't think it's bricked. I plugged it up and then Clockwork came up so I selected reboot now. Clockwork came up again so I tried to restore my latest backup and the screen went black. I'm going to let it charge and then give it another try.
Ok good. That's lucky because whenever you pull on a boot like that, it usually bricks. If you have the option, try to re-flash your ROM. Maybe even try stock. If you were getting a black screen, it's most likely you flashed incorrectly.
Ok, I was able to boot into recovery and now I'm restoring my backup. I don't think I had a custom recovery image with this one so hopefully I won't get stuck in a bootloop. When you say stock, do you mean before I flashed MIUI (it was the first rom I flashed)? Thank you for your suggestions and all of your help.
first install adb on you PC, it helps a lot in these kind of cases.
1. try "adb logcat", it would tell you about what's going on in your machine.
2. once you get your adb working, try "adb reboot recovery" to see if it could boot your phone in recovery.
3. if after doing everything you fail to boot either your phone or in recovery then try using PC10IMG to boot a stock rom and then re-root your phone.
I got it back working. For some reason, I'm just starting to think that it needed charging (the battery had been out for about a day or two). I do have adb installed and configured on my computer since I needed it to root. Thank you for your suggestions, I will definitely rember them if this happens again.
lol of course when you get black screen and led blnking means your battery begging for juice, you're lucky that when the phone booted back in recovery and you tried to restore a backup the phone went off before actually starting to restore, that would've bricked your phone
DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING WITHOUT AT LEAST 40% OF JUICE LEFT
I rooted the Nexus a few days ago and everything was working fine had to do a reboot this evening but all it does now is sit at the Google padlock splash screen and it won't go any further.
I've tried going into the boot loader and running recovery but it just goes back to the Google padlock splash screen.
Is there anything I can do to resolve the problem and try and recover the Nexus or is it bricked?
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is "normal" behavior (the bootloader needs to be fixed). Just hold power until your tablet turns off and then you can turn it back on again. Other methods for accessing recovery still work, like the reboot menu of a custom ROM or an app that can reboot into recovery like Quickboot. If you can't get your tablet to boot correctly though, then while your tablet is connected to your running computer, try to enter recovery from the bootloader and it should boot into recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475 <- if u have tried everything on the tablet, and still not working, than this tool will solve ur problem, it install a stock version on it and data will be wiped
hope this help,
cheers

Worked a treat once connected to the USB on my laptop and got into recovery and restored the Nandroid backup, then restored my data and system backup from Sunday with Titanium and was back up and running in half an hour.
Thanks
Hey everyone,
Long time XDA forum user, first time poster. I can usually find what I need through searching, it seems people generally get into a soft brick scenario with this Verizon recovery blocker screen. I do now see that I did act a bit brash, and should have searched more about the knox counter before rooting and installing another rom.
Here are the steps that I performed to get into trouble:
Ran Vroot from my PC to obtain root
Installed SuperSU, updated bianaries in that app, uninstalled Chineses root apps
Tried to install CWM from Rom Manager, rebooted, got the Verizon security warning
Realized that recovery would not work, installed safestrap from APK
Installed hyperdrive in Rom slot 2, set to boot to that ROM slot
So I guess I made a few mistakes. I should never tried to install CWM, I should have somehow disabled/reset the knox counter?, and I should have installed Hyperdrive in the stock rom Slot?
I was hiking and using a GPS navigation app (in airplane mode). I look down and my phone is at this Verizon recovery blocker screen, "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless...". Now, I would be fine if I could get to odin/download mode, but no matter what key combination I use, it always brings me to that same stupid screen. I have tried volume down+home+power, volume up+home+power in combination with removing the battery for 10-15 seconds, and not being plugged in and I am out of ideas. I have not been able to boot to download mode whatever I try. If I can get there I should be able to take care of the issue. Any ideas? Is a usb jib my last hope?
Also
Also, I was still on 4.3. I had not taken the OTA update to 4.4. That is what was prompting me to get another ROM installed.
Any insight would be appreciated! Is a USB jig my only hope to force the phone into download/odin mode?

Force download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power until you see a warning screen. Then use Odin to fix it. Maybe a fixed Recovery is enough. With bad luck your only way is a official update with Modem, BL, Kernel and stuff, too.
Thanks that was it. i flashed twrp again and it works fine now
Soo.. Droid Turbo 2 from Verizon.
Not rooted. No custom recovery. Not even a single attempt at anything like that. It's my girlfriend's phone.
Was working great over the weekend until Saturday night. We were playing some charades game on the phone and it froze. Powered it off with Vol Down + Power. Ever since then, it will not boot. I was able to put it into fastboot a few times to try restarting. Got it into recovery mode and tried a normal restart. Then went to recovery and attempted to wipe cache partition. Since doing wipe cache partition, it will not do anything. Will not even boot into Fastboot mode. Screen is blank. No charging indicator when plugged into a charger. Nothing. Attempts at using Verizon Software Repair Assistant has failed. Droid Explorer cannot find the device. However, I do get a random Unknown device when plugging it into my computer, however, nothing has been able to communicate with it and it doesn't register in SRA or Droid Explorer when plugged in. Attempts to manually force drivers onto the device via Device Manager have not been successful as there are no standalone drivers I was able to find to install to the device.
I'm out of ideas here. Normally I would just warranty the device through Verizon, since I know how to get them to do that. However, there is a slight issue with the volume up key. it doesn't click like normal even though it still responds to input normally. I don't want a damaged device fee. Any other suggestions?
Looks like broken motherboard.
