[Q] Mount Internal Storage in Recovery? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I am running Philz Touch Recovery on my i9507 and was wondering if there was a way to mount internal storage while inside recovery? I tried going to the Mounts and Storage menu but the only option there is for External SD Card and I don't have an microSD card in my device, only using the internal storage.
Thanks

Bump

Doesn't it detect the storage automatically if you connect the phone to the pc while in recovery?
I'm pretty sure that this works with TWRP.

It's not possible what you want. That's a limitation of Android.

USB Mass Storage

is there a way or an app that will connect my internal SD to my computer as mass storage? as per my previous post "stuack at bootscreen" I formatted my internal SD for my device to work, now I need to recover the lost file using my aggressive file recovery program, but for it to work, I have to mount my internal SD, I tried using it the mount USB storage via CMW recovery but it's looking for a file and nothing happened, I remember using my previous p1000 tab before wherein I can mount the tab via recovery, is there a way to do the same thing on our P6800?
Please advise
thanks and have a nice day

Which Recovery for Internal and External SD?

What's currently the best recovery that can access both the internal storage and external SD Card?

I'm using the TWRP version installed via GooManager and it does support both internal and external memory.
You can read/write nandroid backup from/to both memory as well as install new ROM from the 2 mem.
I have not been able to share the internal/external memory to my PC via USB cable while I'm in recovery mode.
It's probably a driver issue on the PC side, I have not investigated too much this issue since I can easily get around it.
I've been stuck on some extremely old CWM that I installed from rooting months ago so thank you!

How to format internal storage in Philz Recovery?

Hi guys,
I've got a lot of junk folders on my INTERNAL storage that have been left by old apps etc.
What is a safe way to format the internal storage?
When the internal storage is formatted, will I have to reflash recovery/ROM etc?
Cheers
Why not use the Wipe function in recovery? It securely formats your internal storage. It means all your app data will be gone, though, and you'll get a clean phone, as if you've just got it.

Go under mounts and storage in Philz, you will see option to wipe internal sd there. It's called format data as far as I know.

in recovery go to mounts and strorage and select format -data sd card- not sdcard1 (this is ext sd card)
you dont have to flash the rom again.
Into the abyss.
Also, does formatting remove all partitions that may have been made on the disk? If you are flashing roms they change what on the system, and the card(s) are left alone, correct? I'm just getting an SPH-710 the S3, but they use Philz Touch too. I came from a Transform Ultra, which was tough to manage keeping things off the Internal storage. Kinda lost on how to handle all the options on the SG3. Or, should I just leave it all alone?
??? Thanks, as always for shepherding us newbs across to the promise land.

flashing files with adoptable storage

Hi, I'm using Dirty Unicorns on my Redmi2. Since it's marshmallow, I'm using adoptable storage, i.e. using my sd card as internal storage, so I can install apps to the sd card. but since this mode formats and encrypts the sd card, I can't access files that I want to flash with TWRP when booting recovery. I thought TWRP 3 was supposed to support adoptable storage, but even after updating it I can't seem to get it working. Am I forgetting something here?
Thanks in advance.
Where in the Aroma File manager are you Searching for your SD card ? Pls attach a Screenshot of the directory , using root explorer
You must identify where exactly your adoptable SD card mounted to. You can search for it using CM File manager. It should be like /mnt/storage/XXX.
