Have you flashed/installed anything recently that could conflict with the app?
Try wiping the app data in Settings and see where that gets you.
If not try wiping Cache/Dalvik from recovery and if you're still having no luck with it, try a factory reset!
Hope I helped,
Beans

I installed puzzles and dragons, and all of a sudden its been acting up, I wiped cache from recovery, no go
EDIT: I found the cause, it was the update for Chrome

I personally would just delete it from
•Data/app
•System/app
•System/priv-app

Using a root file manager (depending on where you have it installed), and re-installing it from the Play Store.
You could also try uninstalling the puzzles and dragons app and see if that gives you anything

Glad you found your bug @danthepan !
Beans

SO SORRY, but it wasn't fixed (((

No worries!
Try using a file explorer such as Astro or ES File Explorer (Or Root Explorer if you're willing to pay, totally worth it though bought 2 years ago on sale and haven't needed another file manager since) to go into
Data/app
System/app
System/priv-app

to locate the quicksearch apk file and delete it, then just re-install it from the Play Store!
If you're still experiencing FC's after that the only other suggestion I can give without knowing the actual cause of them is to do a Factory reset (Data, Cache, Dalvik)!
Beans

for some reason I can't find that quick search app?
All i did so far was uninstall updates to Chome and Google, so far so good! will update again if it fails

Insufficient Storage Space?

So I have a 16GB nexus 4 and I have about 8GB left, and I was updating ingress and it says I don't have sufficient storage?! I don't have the patience or time to deal with this, especially since my iPads iCloud account got ****ed all of 5 seconds before I tried to update ingress (coincidence?). I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it, and then tried restoring it from carbon, which didnt even install the app even though I have it set to back up .apks.... Ugh I'm pissed righ now, someone help me?
I have Franco.Kernel and CM if that's of any help

Clear the cache in recovery and reboot, that should fix it.
Didnt work
Alright, I just solved it by going into /data/app-libs and deleting the ingress folders... Seems to have fixed the issue
Try clearing both the cache and dalvik cache in recovery, maybe that helps.

clearing both the cache and dalvik cache in recovery and reboot, remove the /data/app sub directory etc all doesn't work for my N4. :crying:
Normally you shouldn't just arbitrarily delete folders.
It helps to do something as simple as going into Settings -> Apps -> All, then sorting by size to see what apps are hogging the most (since they usually include /sdcard storage attributed to them).
I have slot of free space from the storage info, is it correct?
So it should be a bug on nexus 4?

Play store error [rpc:s-5:aec-0]

Hello, I recently flashed Cameleon and am having trouble with the playstore. It returns this error when I try to view my apps, TB is unable to restore market links, and I can't even view my apps on the web interface. Can anyone help?
I should add that I've: added a 2nd google account, removed the first, readded the first still no luck
cleared data/cache from play store and google services framework still no luck.

Thanks, I'm going to try the new playstore (4.0) if that doesnt work, I guess I'll reflash. which is the definitive GAPPS?

Foreground apps crash with no errors

Hello
I have this problem. whenever I open play store and apply updates or install new apps, the play store crashes and the updates are interrupted until I re-open it and resume the update manually. This doesn't seem to happen when the updates are done in the background automatically without opening the store first. I have already tried uninstalling, deleting cache and data, reboot etc. but the problem persists.
I have the Samsung Galaxy note 3 SM-N9005 LTE version with rooted kitkat 4.4.2

I see that very few people have this very annoying issue
I just don't want to resort to factory reset. I mean I know it will probably fix it but I just don't feel like setting my phone up again from the start which is time consuming, besides, what would be the purpose of this wonderful community if all problems were solved by wiping up one's phone.
I was wondering if the cause could be some poor memory management or bad cleaning/anti-virus apps interfering with the memory management I mean I am a complete noob in terms of android management but I assume when there are multiple apps being downloaded/updated at the same time it must consume a great deal of resources but for an app to crash without even the popup message that says "....has stopped" I have never seen before

Maybe you try to get a appstore.apk, delete your's wipe Cache and then install the apk.
I would also recommend data wipe though cause with backup (I use titanium) it'll be less time consuming than everything else. Just backup user data and you won't have to set it up again. The thing is it's not guaranteed that the problem lies within playstore and since we don't have your phone in our hands it is nearly impossible to point you to the exact fix.

well... speaking of backup I also use titanium and nandroid, thank god for that because earlier I tried something stupid (suggested here on XDA though) I cleared the app store cache and data which is fine because I did it before with no problem but then I cleared the google services framework data/cache, I wish I hadn't because it literally messed everything up. I was unable to connect at all to the store even though I had a good network connection. thank god it worked again after I restored the app/data
I can live with that issue. it's not such a hassle since I usually check the play store for updates every day at least. but I may try your first suggestion though. thanks 4aces

As you wish b careful though. I think (definitely not 100% sure) you have to put the apk file in device/system/apk with es file Explorer or root Explorer and than put the permission to rw rr.
That's why I recommend full wipe.

thanks for the link. maybe I could try to update it as my version is 4.6.17 which is older than 4.8.19 and see if there is a change. One thing I don't understand is that one can only disable it and not uninstall it so does that mean it's a system app even though it's not in the /system/app folder? should I convert it to user app with titanium prior to update?

From what I read so far it is implemented in system and not so easy to mess with. In the link above is a link back to xda. It'll be best if u read it.
PS. Hitting the thanks button is faster than typing

One more suggestion. Try to open application manager in settings and select all. Look for download manager and clear the cache then reboot.
If it doesn't help wait for other replies or wipe data will have to do the work.

I tried that but didn't help. then I tried to update and move to system, made it even worse as play store crashed as soon as I hit the update button. Reinstalling the app wouldn't help so I had to restore a nandroid backup. I'm giving up now but won't waste time doing a wipe data because it's not a real issue since I'm able to update anyway by hitting the button and close play store right after. All my apps still update in the background anyway

Screen freezing while download

When I Download a Big file my Screen is freezing for 2-3min since i rooted my Phone
More info needed. What do you download the file with? Chrome browser?
Try using a different download manager (for example the built-in downloader of ES File Explorer)
Yes Chrome...es file downloader Works fine without freeze but when I Download from PlayStore i cant use es file
i also experienced that problem.....i cleared my cache and it works fine now....hope it helps!!!!

Just as an FYI, i'm pretty sure adblockers could also be causing your problem.
Update : if the above fails, try force closing browser, playstore, play services and google services framework. Clear data on browser, playstore and play services. Reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache. Reboot. Downloads should be normal. If all else fails, a factory reset could solve the problem.

Force stop the app. If its an Xposed module, simply deactivate it. Other than that, you can also completely uninstall it.

Titanium Backup stopped working - fixed

Hi
TB gave me an error this morning saying there wasn't enough space to back up. There is plenty of space and its running the latest version for Oreo.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but now fails to even load, just says Titanium Backup has stopped.
Renamed the backup folder, deleted all remaining files but still failing.
Any thoughts?

Please post your comments issue here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717159 or in the Q&A section as it's the wrong section you've posted (no bug report, only posting apps/themes) and also not a general rom problem.
Some questions:
Did you tried to wipe the caches within twrp?
Have you the pro version?
Did you flashed titanium backup in twrp or only installed through play store?
When you were able to start it did you tried to link the backup folder within settings again?
Do you have supersu?

After uninstalling, use a file explorer and go to /data/data/ (or/data/app/) folder. There, find the Titanium Backuo folder and delete it. Then reinstall and profit.

Try the method I wrote in the past post, it worked for me to make the app open again.
Regarding the not enough space error, if rooted with SuperSU, go to SuperSU settings and turn off "Mount namespace separation".

Interesting. I've had this issue but a simple restart fixed it for me. It seems it can go much deeper.
