Hi
TB gave me an error this morning saying there wasn't enough space to back up. There is plenty of space and its running the latest version for Oreo.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but now fails to even load, just says Titanium Backup has stopped.
Renamed the backup folder, deleted all remaining files but still failing.
Any thoughts?
XXX FIXED = flashed ElementalX kernel and all is working again!

Please post your comments issue here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717159 or in the Q&A section as it's the wrong section you've posted (no bug report, only posting apps/themes) and also not a general rom problem.
Some questions:
Did you tried to wipe the caches within twrp?
Have you the pro version?
Did you flashed titanium backup in twrp or only installed through play store?
When you were able to start it did you tried to link the backup folder within settings again?
Do you have supersu?

After uninstalling, use a file explorer and go to /data/data/ (or/data/app/) folder. There, find the Titanium Backuo folder and delete it. Then reinstall and profit.

Try the method I wrote in the past post, it worked for me to make the app open again.
Regarding the not enough space error, if rooted with SuperSU, go to SuperSU settings and turn off "Mount namespace separation".

Interesting. I've had this issue but a simple restart fixed it for me. It seems it can go much deeper.

Ok thanks, with the question
"Did you flashed titanium backup in twrp or only installed through play store? - installed both through store and apk."
I mean if you flashed the recovery flashable zip of twrp instead of installing it the apk from playstore or with package installer?

Just want to share that after many attemps trying to make it working i finally got it fixed. I wiped dalvik and cache on TWRP and deleted the titanum folder at "/data/data " and it worked. Previously i tried just deleting titanium folder at "/data/app/" but it wasn't working.
Lastest versions v8.xx don't active by default all permissions. So if you have a force close when you opening the app, long press on the app icon > App info > Permissions > check all permissions. After that, force close app, open Titanium, it work

I didn't notice about the 'remove market link'. Where should I look for it in TB? Actually I downloaded .apk and then tried to install it on the phone. I've been doing it for ages but had no problems till now.

Ok I see the following options in Preferences: Normal apps (apk), Protected apps (apk), System apps (apk), Market link... all of these are checked ...there are also options under Freezer settings > Remove Market entry (checked)... under Un-installer settings > Remove Market entry (checked) .... btw, the TB version is 4.2.1
That's all right. Try fixing market links. With rom manager installed.

I found a page. Google " [Leak] Update Android 4.3 on Nexus 4, Download, How to and Quick Review"
It says switch the location of your back up from 0 to legacy and it worked you can find the way to change TB backup location in preferences>>backup folder location>>DETECT!>>> choose legacy>>>Then use current folder and it will ask you if you want to switch the back up location . Do so and then go ahead and load your missing apps. It worked and now I have all my apps.

With Android 4.2, /data/media/0/ was added to /data/media for each user (../1 and ../2). With Titanium Backup, this moved the backups into that 0/ directory. The default backup folder is now set to /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup (symlink to /data/media/0/TitaniumBackup).
The fix to simply change to default directory to /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup. It points to the same folder but Titanium Backup likes it better. You can find this in Menu > Preferences > Backup folder location. Press <Back> to go up one and then select /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup. Then select 'Use the current folder'. Hope this helps!
Worked!

So, if TB is using Ext SD card for a backup location, creating a legacy folder isn't necessary? 4.3 roms will recognize the backups?

Hello everyone,
My problem is that TiBU recognize my folder which contains my backups but when I try to run a restore/backup there is no app showing.
My backups are located in /storage/sdcard1/TitaniumBackup. I tried to change the folder directory to /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup but the backups files are just not transferring (0-547 backups transferred). The backup directory is /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup but I still can't run any backup. Is this happening because my backups are located on my SDcard (sdcard1) ?
I've got this problem since I upgrade to Slim Bean 4.3 Rom. I did update to SuperSU 1.65 but it didn't solve the problem.
Thank you very much for your help!

Yes, I am getting this too. It does not move the backup files automatically and sits at 0/???. I went in via ES File Explorer and moved them manually, TB picked them up in the new path but still no joy restoring, both apps and data crash.

Any ideas anyone?

you can do a dirty flash (without wiping) so you won't lose all your settings. it's usually not recommended becuase it can cause FC, but since you're already getting them, I'd say that its worth a shot

i'm sure there's some way to put the Hangouts app back into the app folder and change it's permissions, but i always end up screwing that up lol. that's all the advice i have. good luck :good:
here is the process to "push" a system app to your phone.
1. download the ROM or GAPPS that hangouts originally came from to your sdcard or extsdcard if you don't already have it
2. using root explorer or es file explorer, navigate to system/app in the rom or GAPPS zip file and extract hangouts.apk
3. copy or move hangouts.apk into system/app on your phone
4. change permissions to -rw-r--r--
5. reboot and it should work fine
Hi all,
I have been looking everywhere for a solution but have found none that solved my issue.
I had xposed framework installed and working fine on my S4 i9505 with 4.3 and just after I updated to 4.4 I just can't install it (new install) nor re-install it with Titanium Backup.
I have the latest version, and it tries to install but finishes installation saying "application not installed" and that's all.
Can anyone give me a hand?
I have stock ROM, rooted with supersu, CWM.
thanks!
You dont need use Titanium Backup for that:
1. Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it normally like an app
2. Launch the Xposed Installer, go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update"
3. Reboot
4. Done!
It seems I'm not explaining myself correctly...
I know how to install Xposed.
I have had it ever since I got the phone 8 months ago. I have changed roms frequently and never had any trouble installing it again.
But since I updated to kitkat 4.4.2 there is no way I can install it again from fresh. That's when I tried with Titanium just in case it worked, but it didn't.
So there must be something wrong with my cel after the update to kitkat 4.4.2.
does anyone know what could be the matter and how to solve it (apart from obviously flashing another ROM)?
thank you

If you have Magisk, use the module. The thing os that Android seems to prioritize the app that's in data as opposed to the one on system. So what you have to do for it to work is get a file manager (i recommend the new Root Browser, it's probably the least bloated out there), go to /data/app, then find youtube (maybe com.google.youtube?) and delete the folder. After that just go back one folder and return again, check that it isn't there, and then go to Play Store and deactivate auto-updates (open the app description, and open the 3 dot menu).
If you don't have magisk all that stuff will work. Just remember that if Play Store updates the app you'll lose it until you reboot

There isn't a youtube folder where you instructed me to look. I think Titanium Backup removed it on it's own.
I might just have to reinstall this ROM, install Magisk, and use the module. Ugh spent all afternoon/evening unlocking and rooting this thing. Almost there.
Appreciate the feedback

What did you do with titanium backup?? Did you uninstall the app after flashing iYTBP?
Try rebooting twice, the app might get replaced

I used Titanium to uninstall the original Youtube app that came with the phone.
I've rebooted twice. Still not showing up in either the App Drawer, or Data/APP folder.
Reinstalled the iYPTB via twrp again, rebooted, and still nothing in either locations.
I'm at a loss, almost ready to go magisk tomorrow.

You didn't have to do that... It might have uninstalled the /system/app one
One other thing. Use root browser to get to /system/app, find the youtube folder. Check the apk's thumbnail. If it is iytbp's then you almost definitely have com.google.youtube on data or auto-update on play

It's the original Youtube App. Interesting. What now LOL? Youtube isn't installed anymore. I can't go into the play store and turn off auto update or anything.

So now you don't have any youtube app on /system/app? Install Youtube via play store, then use Apps2SD or Link2SD to make it a system app (TB just can't) and then flash iYTBP again

Using Link2SD When I click. "Integrate update into system" I get an error "System Device busy or Resource busy"
Update:
Flashed iYPTB again after reinstalling YouTube, and now it's the Vanced version! Awesome! Finally got my phone to where I want it
And yes, I unchecked auto update from the play store

That's the problem.
You need to have a working youtube app before flashing the iYPTB zip on TWRP, but you should clear data and cache of this app beforehand.
PS: I also have Magisk but didn't use the module.

Might just say to heck with it and reinstall everything with magisk next weekend. Working great as is right now though
This is way late but might be helpful in the future.
I've never had luck with the Vanced installer for some reason.
Anyway, awhile back @raystef66 made an installer with the black iYTB which worked perfectly.
Besides installing new builds manually one could also swap out the builds in the installer with a newer one, white or black, I guess.

I used it, it's nice and all but the Magisk module works the same and installs the latest version. Since you use microG you may not have trouble with auto-update, but sometimes I had to reflash the zip if play updated it (Auto update is disabled and still sometimes it just decides to ignore that...)
