I have i9505 XXUFNB8 4.4.2 Stock Firmware installed but the "CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505" does not work on it.
The root process seems OK with NO error or fail. but after root the SuperSU icon wont displayed. I've installed SuperSU via google Play but when I open it it says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it."
How to root XXUFNB8 on i9505?

I had similar problem and what i did is:
1. Make a data backup of ur Internal Memory
2. Factory Reset ur phone (Settings > Accounts > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All/Erase Everything)
3. Root it again through "CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505"
4. Install Root Explorer for example (or other explorer for root devices) and delete this apps (coz KNOX app is blocking SuperSu):
KNOX in System/App folder:
ContainerAgent.apk
KNOXAgent.apk
ContainerEventsRelayManager.apk
KLMSAgent.apk
KnoxAttestationAgent.apk
KNOXStore.apk
KNOXStub.apk
SPDClient.apk
5. Recover your data of the step 1 to ur phone and install the apps you had before
6. Enjoy ur rooted device

This have happened to me also. the solution I found was to install CF Root flashable zip through CWM recovery. The SuperSU app did not appear in the app drawer, but I just downloaded it from Play Store and the device was properly rooted then.
this is the link that I downloaded the .zip root file:
http://download.chainfire.eu/382/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip
Problem Solved!
I was using an old version of CF-Auto-Root, so I download the updated version of CF-Auto-Root and root my i9505 running XXUFNB8 4.4.2 successfully. For those who have the same problem of mine download following file and follow the rooting tutorial. :good:

since you have the same device as me and since you have upgraded to kitkat as well, may I ask if there is a way to root the s4 XXUFNB8 without tripping knox?
If I'm right, the CF-AUTOROOT will trip the knox warranty void from 0x0 to 0x1.. but I could be wrong so can someone tell me if there is a way to do this or if the CF-AUTOROOT doesn't trip the knox warranty?
Thank you

Umm, I have already tripped the knox when I was on MJ6 android 4.3 with CF Auto Root.
I read somewhere that SafeRoot method does not trip the knox, but I don't know if Saferoot works on android 4.4.2 or not.

BENC2 Root Issue
Got a stange root problem.
Have got stock firmware N9005XXUENC2_N9005OLBENC2_MM1. Installed using ODIN 3.09. Then applied CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005 Autoroot (Latest).
All applied fine except when a app now request root permissions SuperUser does not prompt for permissions.
Have checked root via number of apps. All showing ok. Super user launches fine but no app in register.
Even an app goes to request root permissions (eg File Explorer KitKat fix) it just hangs and does not user the prompt. Apps just hangs. All root requesting apps are the same. Hangs on initial access/prompt
Any fixes?
Who knew it would be that simple? Towelroot has rooted my Note 3, I'm finally back with Titaniuam Backup Pro and Knox is 0x0!
Amazing.
However I've installed CF's SuperSU and it fails to update the binaries.
I've frozen KNOX in Titanium and rebooted but they still won't update.
Do I even need to update them?
Also, if I try to install CWM will that trip KNOX?

Download http://download.chainfire.eu/448/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r5.zip . Don't flash it. Unzip it. Then go to /common folder and install superuser.apk. Run SuperSU from App Drawer, and let binary to update. Now you have it working. And don't worry about disabling KNOX. Just disable it.
By flashing CWM you will trip knox.

Fantastic. thank you Alex. That worked perfectly. As you're in the know I'll ask you another question (or two)!
Because I don't want to trip knox I won't install CWM. As such I can't make a nandroid backup. I want to install the xposed framework and Wanam modules...but it strongly recommends a backup. Is it risky for me to do this?
Any idea what happens when an OTA update is release by Samsung?

Actually you can make nandroid backup without costume recovery. Just use Online Nandroid Backup. It makes nandroid backup in CWM or TWRP formats.
And then you can use Nandroid Manager to restore your backup. Although I still can't figure it out on how to restore a backup if you soft brick you phone.

Now you can install SuperSU from play store as it was updated and now it should update binaries without a problem. Install SuperSU, open it, press "update binaries", use "normal" method (not CWM/TWRP), when it will ask you to disable knox, press "disabled knox" and then reboot.
I'm having a similar issue that's pretty frustrating. I root my phone and install supersu, asks to disable knox and everything works great until about a day after, I try to open Supersu and it says I need to update binaries but it will not update. So I have to uninstall supersu, root again then install Supersu again! Right now it's working fine but I'm scared to open Supersu in fear that it will happen all over again. It's been a pain! I even tried flashing the supersu zip through Safestrap to see if it helps but it did the same thing. Is anyone having a similar issue or can anyone help with this?

Isn't the point of using towelroot to prevent tripping KNOX? When trying to update my SuperSU binaries it asks me to disable KNOX, won't this trip it?

As far as I understand, it disables software part of knox, so it (knox) wont prevent you to update binaries. Anyway it won't trip knox.

I have the same problem with binary issues on the towelroot method. It works at first but after a reboot it says "Update binary files" So i do that and then it says "Failed" I have the verizon Note 3 on 4.4.2. I found a temp fix for this when having issues with binary update. You don't have to re-root your phone.
1. Save the apk super su to your phone.
2. After having problems with binary then uninstall the supersu app from your phone
3. Install the supersu apk using "ES File Explorer" Then load the app it'll still say failed.
4. Reboot the phone and open up Supersu and you won't get the binary issue
I know its annoying work around but its what i have figured out and it works.
Guys, can you help with 2 questions please?
I have a I9505 with 4.4.2 branded rom (ZTO) with towel root (know still 0x0) and disable OTA updates, I can't find a perfect custom rom (always a feature not working, missing or the interface it's a mess/colorfull), now I just want the stock unbranded rom.
1 - What is the safest way to flash the stock rom without trip knox?
2- After that, can I enable back OTA updates with root?
Thanks!

I downloaded SuperSU from the link your provided, copied just the superuser.apk from /common folder to my Note 3 and then install.
Run SuperUser, which asked to disable KNOX (I clicked OK). KNOX disabled.
However, there is no prompt for the binary update. Am I doing anything wrong?
you could also flash the zip with mobile odin pro (available in play store)

Wouldn't this require TWRP? I don't have that, since installing TWRP will trip KNOX.

So I just got done rooting my Note 3 with towelroot and everything went fine. I checked to make sure it worked with "Root Checker" and it said I successfully had root access. So next step I took was to download a SuperUser app from the PlayStore, and no matter WHAT SuperUser app I use, NONE of them can update the SU Binary????? so I went and downloaded "Busybox Installer" and downloaded the latest Busybox version to my Note. Then went back to retry to update the Binary but still no progess!! I'm stuck and I really don't know what else to do! I'm not trying to install any ROM or Safestrap. Just want my phone rooted to mess around with some permissions and hacked apks. So can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong???? I've rebooted my Note COUNTLESS number of times and still SuperSU still says it fails to update the Binary! It successfully disable KNOX tho. So what can I do so that I can use my root to my full potential and update the SU Binary???

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that its just a problem with towelroot.. And that same thing happened to me on my note 3. I'm pretty sure what I did was download safestrap (you can I install it after) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517610 and flash this (chainfires supersu +binary) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517610
If that doesn't work just either pm me or comment that it didn't and I'll see if I can find another way! And you can always uninstall safestrap once you flashed the package (don't forget to clear cache and dalvic)

This just prompts SU binary update and fails.
I managed to download safestrap and have the su zip in my downloads, but dont knwo where to go from here.

First time rooting so I probably shouldn't play around with things alone. Thanks

You can try this if you want it works when using TWRP recovery but not sure about Philz
Make sure you don't have super user app installed on your phone
Download the attached zip and put it in a folder on your phones internal storage
Install Philz custom recovery via Odin
When the phone reboots go to the market and install Chainfires SuperSU, this one here
Once installed reboot phone into recovery and install the zip file you downloaded above
Reboot the phone and go to the SuperSU app and tap it, give it a moment and it should ask for you to grant root access
If it has worked as it does with TWRP you will be rooted, let me know if it works or not.

I don't really want to risk anything , I've also noticed that there are 2 CF-Auto-Root files , one that says kltedx and other that says kltexx. Should I give the other one (kltexx) a try? Also , my friend told me that I need to root first and then install a custom recovery (Philz).

I never mentioned CF Auto Root the process mentioned above doesn't use it. it is just TWRP Recovery 2.4 or higher you install via Odin
Then SuperSu form the marked
Then boot into recovery and install the zip file which updates SuperSU binary to give root access
That's it, no CF Aoto Root

Are you sure that your method is going to work on my G900F? I'm on Lollipop OB7 if that makes any difference.

I think the problem is kingroot. It may prevent other superuser apps from installing properly.
If you want supersu, start from 0 (reflash stock) and root it with cf-auto-root first.
Isnt there any alternative way????
KingRoot is only useful if other methods of rooting are either unavailable or not working anymore. If you have a GT-I9505, you can do some trick to root your phone with Towelroot by downgrading kernel using the KitKat one and reflash using the stock Lollipop one right away after rooting.
My suggestion to reflash stock first (like @GDReaper said), and try Towelroot or CF Auto-Root method.

I think another way to root would be to flash TWRP and install supersu from TWRP.
I didn't like KingRoot, and found it very invasive. After it is installed, it continues to slam remote servers for no apparent reason.
KingoRoot seemed 1000 times better and their SuperUser app seems fine. However, the only way I could get SuperSU installed, was to freeze KingoUser/SuperUser and then install SuperSU, then install to system. Reboot and done. I just had to keep Kingo's SuperUser frozen to avoid any problems.
Hopefully this helps.

Brother.. I am in Kitkat only. And I used CF Autoroot to root my device
Did you try removing all traces of previous supersu installations before flashing via TWRP? Which version of supersu was flashed through recovery? The phone has the latest releast of TWRP?
@Athakuri700,
Your phone model?

Its s4 gt-I9505 kitkat 4.4.2 baseband XXUGNH6.. yes the TWRP is of latest one as I flashed from TWRP Manager app..
Not sure if it makes difference but try reflashing twrp using odin, then flash supersu.
