YES. You can try it without DATA Wipe first. If you have issues with someappĀ“s or current settings you can make a Data Wipe later. Just make a complete TWRP Backup before restoring this SYSTEM Image

soo no 4.4.2 ota update of your phone bootloader locked?

I'd like to ask few questions:
I have an unlocked bootloader, roooted & debloated razr i NewAOSP ROM 4.1.2 also with custom recovery TWR 2.8.0.0 installed...
Q1: Is it possible to just flash this KIA20.74.rar ROM from this thread via TWR and have KITKAT installed?
Q2: Is it rooted or how to root aftewards?
Q3: Is there any custom KITKAT ROMS available?
Q4: Is it worth to upgrade at all?
Thanks for your reply.

1. No, it is not possible to flash it. U need to restore it. This is not a flashable zip, it is a TWRP BACKUP that can be restored through the recovery.
2. I dunno if it is rooted, but if it is not. Just install a root zip afterwards through recovery
3. Yep, mine CM11
4. I would say yes. From 4.1.2 to 4.4.x was a great update. A couple of more apps that work and an overal boost of performance. Not that mutch, but noticable.

There is a new root method for lollipop roms. You can find it in here in the general section. And yes you have to put the rom file in the SD card. I suggest you to read everything about root, bootloader unlocking, TA backup, and recovery and only start it.

TWRP 3.0.0, anyone tried? Test and feedback.

Hi guys,
TWRP 3.0.0 has just been released. Did any of you flash it?
I did not yet as I am trying a rom and don't need to flash anything until next week.
How about the following points?
- backup/restore ==> Does not map correctly efs, thus does not back it up.
- encryption ==> Confirmed OK on COS 12.1 by @geowolf1000, but failed on several CM13 (Sultan's version + official nightlies) data partition with no logic found yet. It seems to depend if encryption has been made on a CM12 then upgrade to CM13 or directly under CM13.
- f2fs support ==> Confirmed OK by @Haiqal Johari
- modems/firmwares flash ability ==> Confirmed OK by @Haiqal Johari
Unless there is one thread already, that might be good to centralize the feedbacks.
Download link ==> https://dl.twrp.me/bacon/
Official thread in OPO Original Android Development section ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2766186
Flashed the new version through TWRP 2.8.7.0.5 materialized. Good interface and quite smoother than the 2.8.7.0.5.
After that i flashed the BlissPop 6.0 Chimera (Hybrid-CAF) and it has booted succesfully.
The rest i did't tied it but i prefer much more the 3.0.0 version than others.
Also decrypt successfully for me
I did not test firmwares because latest cos 12. 1..1 works great to my needs

Well... Flashed the 3.0.0 version from the 2.8.6.0 and it does not boot into recovery anymore (stuck on the 1+ logo). I'll have to flash it using fastboot I guess.
Edit: Solved, I just had a bad download (file less than 1Mo). Strange that TWRP 2.8.6.0 flashed it anyway...

Unfortunately twrp-3.0.0-0-bacon has not EFS Partition for Backup! What is not good.
For comparison twrp-3.0.0-0-hammerhead has EFS Partition for Backup.
That is why I have flashed twrp-3.0.0-0-bacon-20160206_efs.img which has EFS Partition for Backup.

SM-T815 Android 6 Root

So for the guy who want ask for root for the SM-T 815 with the last update to Android 6
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133?nocache=1
This method works fine on my Tab with Android 6.
TO-DO
Install last TWRP for SM-T 815
Save the file to your tab
install over TWRP the .zip
have fun!
greez,
Yup, works.
And xposed works too (wanams sdk23 zip, arm version, not arm64)
How and when you got android 6 on SM-T815 ?
Works great
Thanks for the advice.
Works great with my SM-T815 (Android 6.0.1 + TWRP + ROOT + XPOSED)
So install rom, install twrp, install supersu zip and its done? No need for extra modified kernel like lollipop?

It is possible to flash the last update dirty over the running system?
What for a Version of Super User is needed?

Clean flash is highly recommended. Had big standby drain after I dirty flashed it (all your data, apps etc stay, you only lose root, when updating). Factory reset after that and it's fine now (great actually, I'm losing 1% in 10 hours now thanks to doze I guess - before I was losing around 5% in 10 hours)
Does anybody use foldermount under MM?
It says the mount was successfull, but i cant see the files when i open the original folder; but the destination foder there are the files.
I Use foldermount 2.9.2b

Yes, u can use the last version. There is no other at the moment. Clean install with factory reset is prefered. Cause of errors.

Use TWRP recovery 2.7 if you wanna flash any KK ROM.
Boot into recovery. Make backup of System ( in case you changed your mind and wanted to roll back )
Goto Wipe--> Advance wipe. Then wipe out System, Data, Cache n Dalvik cache.
Goto install, flash the ROM, and gapps. It would work fine
