A quick question, if i do a factory reset a reroot will i get a second flag to knox? i'm already with 0x1 (1)
Nope once tripped it will stay there. No way to change it now.
I don't mean 0x0 but next to that there is a counter, I don't know what exactly counts
You're talking about the flash counter. I believe so... But why would you mind? It doesn't affect warranty issues.
Yes the flash counter, just want to be sure, thanks

Root or install custom recovery, ROM, Kernel == Set knox 0x1
and you can't Reset knox flag....

Will I trigger the knox to 0x1 if I just reflash the 4.3 firmware?
I think something is wrong with it, so I would like to reflash it.
Will it trigger the new knox binary counter?
Thank you
Bump

when im on download mode, this what my phone has on the top right of the screen:
Product name: GT-I9505
Current Binary : Custom
System status: Custom
CSB-DEM_CONFIG_LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
how come it's 0x30? :/
they say if it doesnt have any 0x0 thingy, warranty can still be up. but when has 0x0 or 0x1, warranty would be voided. How come i have 0x30? :/
EDIT: All i did was flashed the CF Auto root, flashed slim rom, then flashed philz recovery and installed GoldenEye rom, theme etc. I never did install bootloader. :/

You still have 4.2.2 knox free bootloader, so you have not yet warranty bit activated. That 0x30 is a different thing.

I mean it's any Samsung control info, but nothing to do with warranty bit, knox bit, new bootloader or what ever you want to call it...

Hy.
The towelroot work with the NE8 ROM?
If I already use a CF-AutoRoot, what it means that my KNOX is 0x1, this app can change the counter back to 0x0?

1. It should work in lot of devices (not depending of the stock rom installed).
2. Towelroot was created for have rooted device without void the warranty (KNOX: 0x1). It's stupid use Towelroot if you have KNOX actived in bootloader. You can use CF-AutoRoot without worries.
3. Towelroot don't change the counter back to 0x0.
once knox is 0x1, no towelroot nor anything can bring it back to 0x0 until now
Hello guys i really need your help.
Im using BOD3 Firmware version, there are a lot of new versions,i was rooted knox 0x1 (2),and then i unrooted through SuperSu.How should i update my phone, via Kies,SmartSwitch,or Odin?I wouldnt prefer odin cause it flashes stock rom and my flashcounter will be knox0x1(3) Right? Is it safe now to update via Kies?
Your KNOX is already tripped, forget about it now and use ODIN, ODIN with Stock ROM will NOT change anything KNOX related, only custom
0x0 = Not tripped
0x1 - Tripped
The counter means nothing for warranty

Thanks just what i was searching for, that the counter doesnt go up 4.For price i didnt meant on knox i meant on flash counter,if they see flash counter if its 4 probably lowers price of phone isnt it ? Sorry for bothering.
Hey all, it's been a while since my rooting days but I wanted to check in and ask this: Is there a simple way that the manufacturer can tell if you have rooted the phone? I ask because I'm a verizon employee now and they're more strict than my previous employer was, At&t. I know samsung used to have a counter on some of their devices but wanted to check in with today's current root methods. And if there is a way they can tell, can you reset it to zero after flashing through odin or another method?
TIA!
There is Knox warranty void which is tripped when root and when tripped it's permanent. There is no way to undo it other than changing mainboard.
Knox is an efuse, hardware based thing.

But what about the exynos version. is the knox flag still there if you go back to stock?

It is. But it does not have an efuse so could potentially be reversed. However nobody has found a way to do it as of yet.

everytime you'll flash something, the knox counter will be from 0x0 to 0x1, which means your warranty is void.
Up to now there is no known way to turn it back to 0x0
