sn - n9005, 4g symbol is not showing on the device even though i have a 4g sim.
the service providers said it works on 1800 or something .
is that the problem.
even in the setting i dont see the 4g lte option.
any suggestions
@hammadq if you dont have LTE option in network modes.
You need root to enable the option.
I have n9005 and I also had to do this to enable LTE.

@thahim Thanks for the reply, could you guide me how to root my note 3. I am new to this.
Thanks!
Alternatively you can flash the firmware from your region that does support 4G for your provider. This isn't always the same as the one for your country or even your provider.
(For instance, I have DBT German Unbranded. When T-Mobile Netherlands enabled 4G, it had to be enabled in the PHN (NL Unbranded) and TNL (T-Mobile NL) versions via an update from Samsung. My German version already had TNL 4G enabled by default.)
But if you're outside Europe that may not be an option.

hi can anyone educate me how can this phone be used outside US , specifically in Asia with local gsm carriers .
the phone will be used there in INDIA .
any help would be appreciated.
god bless
regards
PS : i read quite many threads , but its all about getting it to work with ATT and Tmo , bit nothing about getting it gsm unlocked internationally.
nyone ?
someone must be having some clue !!!
plz help
i think i remember something about calling vzw to have them unlock it to use any sim outside the us, but i cant remember where i read it
yeah , not possible as the phone is out of the country now
I use a XT907 in Australia. On stock rom, GSM works fine for reception but you will have to delete or freeze a service to get MMS working. I figured this out the hard way.
On CM/AOSP or anything not stock, simply flashing a GSMfix zip file located here in one the threads has worked for me always. Im currently running CM 10.1 with excellent reception and eveything works beautifully.
So YES the XT907 will work on GSM networks outside the US. It not NOT locked. Hope that helps.
No mate it seems in newer phones it is locked.
I even tried the nv zero out method, it still doesn't work, in status it shows the network name but finest latch onto the signal bars at all.
And as the phone isn't in us, it's upto the seller to talk to eruzin to get it Internationally unlocked.
sent from my NOTE II, yupp size does matter.
I called up VZN and they told me the phone is unlocked for gsm usage already
but i just am not able to get it to work on gsm outside of US
is there a way , otherwise i am gonna have to dispose it off
anyone ?

The Droid Razr M is SIM unlocked. You can verify this by going to Security>>Set Up SIM/RUIM card lock. There is prompt there to Lock you SIM card, therefore it is by default, unlocked.
Outside the US you can purchase a GSM SIM card from a local provider and pop it in your phone.

Thats correct.
But the sim lock option appears only when the 4g sim from vzn is inside.
When you insert any Other gsm sim, there is no such option and unlike other razr m phones, my phone just picks up gsm signals for a split second and then again it starts to show no signal bars.
I have tried many gsm sims, it's all the same with them, I switched the network to gsm/umts as well each time.
I have even tried the radio comm method of unlocking us gsm still it doesn't help.
I would appreciate any input.
I bought this phone as i loke it a lot.

If you thoroughly search this forum you will find posts from numerous users who have success used local SIM cards in India and Europe. If this doesn't work for you then there's a problem with your phone.

I cannot seem to get the 4g lte to show up in the network selection when I pop in a telecom NZ 4g sim card.
I have managed to flash a telecom nz csc but the 4g option still does not appear. The only way to have it appear is to be modifying the /data/property/persist.lteon value
Is there anything else I can do? I am currently stuck on the HK MK1 rom so i cannot flash the nz version of MJ7. I guess when NZ version updates to MK1 then i guess i can try to flash the rom altogether.

This will proabably have to do. There is an app that can switch on the connection in the app store (whether it works is a different story)

More than likely nothing else you can do until the update comes and your patched/edited lteon value edit.

I have an additonal question to this.
3 (three uk), push out "software updates" to enable the 4G/LTE which is currently being rolled out on their network, would the custom roms & radios already allow for 4G/LTE compatibility?

They're not pushing out software updates apparently. If your phone can receive 4G it'll automatically work when your sim is activated.
Custom Roms have 4G options tho yes.

Interesting, my HTC One had to have an update before the LTE optione ven showed in the menu, as soon as the update came 4G worked.
Due an upgrade so thinking of getting the Note 3, but want to root to enable additional apps in multi window.
I've flashed many different ROMs over the years and never had issues but I was curious as to whether the different modem in another variant would cause issues with LTE?
The G900I I have has it's dock locked so can't change anything and the always on voice (Hi Galaxy from sleep) doesn't work. These 2 issues seem common with the G900I. Here in Australia our LTE bands seem different to most other countries so I need to know if I screw with the baseband etc, will I have issues with network speed?
Thanks
I have the G900I and here's what I did to get around the locked dock.
Root the rom using cf-root and modify the following.
Open the /system/csc/others.xml file and change TRUE to FALSE on the following line:
<CscFeature_Launcher_ReplaceHotseatAreaInEditMode>TRUE</CscFeature_Launcher_ReplaceHotseatAreaInEditMode>
And while your at it, to enable gallery auto rotate after root, do the following in the same others.xml file
"<CscFeature_Gallery_AddAutoRotationIcon>TRUE</CscFeature_Gallery_AddAutoRotationIcon>" and change TRUE to FALSE.
Save your changes, reboot
As for using another rom, I'd wait until development is churning out lots of rom variations.

Hmmm interesting... What about the lockscreen camera?
I'm about to flash the Taiwanese firmware to my Telstra Galaxy - it is a G900I however it has all the features unlocked.
For the time being I've just gone the easy way and installed Google Now launcher and Cover lock screen replacement. Good thing about cover is that I turn the phone to landscape and the camera shortcut appears. Nice addition.
Still doesn't get me the always on voice activation tho. The main reason I went with the S5 is because the Moto X was only released with 16GB and no SD.
antigravity - im not sure bout the camera but as far as using the taiwanese firmware let us know how you go. The OP had a good point in that other countries use different LTE bands so it may or may not work. Either way let us know..

Taiwanese firmware works perfectly well on an Australian 900I.
Doesn't have download booster or Paypal fingerprint, but I wouldn't use those features anyway.
Will probably end up loading a custom ROM at some stage, but so far, the Taiwanese firmware works great. No noticeable difference with 3G/4G on the Telstra network.

I'm in the same boat I have activated LTE option but there is no 4G coverage in my country yet.
If you have any news, please let me know. TIA.
There's usually a very basic reason for 4G not showing up as a selection.
A. The SIM is old. Get a new one. This is by far the most common cause.
B. 4G is relatively new for your provider, and it hasn't been enabled in the firmware for your specific provider yet. Flash another CSC or wait for the next update. (funnily enough it is often enabled in another country. DBT Germany had T-Mobile Netherlands enabled for 4G before the 4G network itself was active. Freaked people the hell out at T-Mobile NL HQ when I had 4G and they didn't.)
C. You're using the wrong CSC. In the EU a lot of independent shops sell imported devices. We get a lot of XEF users that can't run 4G in the Netherlands. Simple flashing is sufficient, as with B.
I know you got it working by rooting. Just putting this out there as a basic steps for those who don't want to root. (bit of a shame if you do trip KNOX and it turns out to just be an old simcard.)
