Great forum btw.

You need a custom recovery

Sorry i asked jesus.

Eh? I provided you with the exact answer you needed, which is - you need a custom recovery (to flash custom ROMs)

@DSA: You provided him the answer he needed, but it wasn't the answer he wanted to hear. Thus the ungrateful and snide remarks, as if being snide was somehow magically going to change the correct answer.
@mortalwombat36: We don't spoonfeed here. Not only do you have to read things to know what you're doing, but you also have to understand them as well. Snide remarks and childish insults won't get you anything but a lot of people laughing at you.

baseband version+unknown, frimware version=2.2.1 kernel version =2.6.32.9 builkd number= srf 1.10 / twilight 1.1.0 hardware version = unknown.......thats the info on my phone please help .
If your phone will go into download mode (power off and hold 1 on the keypad while pressing the power buttn) then your best bet is to ODIN back to stock and start over. I'm on my phone now so I don't have links for you but they're pretty easy to find on here. Good luck.

Baseband unknown? That's probably why ya can't get anywhere, no modem. I'd pick a modem and try flashing it in odin ... although the unknown hardware version could be another issues ...
how and where do i get another modem? and where do i get another harware at or fix it.
is airplane mode on?
arplane mode off. looks like im going to need some help and pretty clear directions on how to fix this. thanks everyone

Definitly the modem. I coulda swore i replied already...damn xda app. @op do what this dude said and odin a modem any modem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123103
They even have videos for ya
Or you can try pulling the battery out and let it sit for 10 secs then put in back in and reboot.
This happened to me also and I tried that and everything started working again
yea
definitely just flash any modem with odin, and you should be all good. no clue how you wiped your modem, but that will definitely fix it. Ive been rooting and flashing my epic for a year and never had any sort of problem like that. crazy ****.
u could always try to boot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik x3 ea., then reflash the rom TWICE (once immediately after the first, without a reset) then fix permissions, reboot, u should be good to go without a data wipe or anything. u could also try posting in the right section (q&a)

Which is exactly why people have almost zero incentive to post in the right section.
They'll get someone giving them a response to try to help. In the long term, it's really not helpful, because this person hasn't really learned what to do when they need help- spoon feeding it to them is like giving a man a fish instead of teaching him how to fish. They'll just come back again when they're hungry/when something screws up their phone again.

Not to mention as much as people piss and moan about people being anal about the sections rather than "being helpful", that's what keeps this forum nice, as opposed to the giant cluster-ef most others are.
The answers to his questions are easier to find because this forum isn't 90% "Oh noes, I think I broke my phone, fix it for me! .... Sorry, I don't know what "rooting", "odin", "modems", "CWM", "flashing", "roms", or "android" means, can you spell it out more?"

i'm rooted

THANK YOU to all of you that read my "pathetic" pleads to "help me"!!!!! I want to apologize FIRST. I'm sorry that I did not research alot of things and expected youz to "do it for me"......
You forced me to read and utilize 'trial and error' w/o bricking
Thanks and I am officially rooted with a massive help to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2041627
thanks XpLoDWild
that thread was awesome, and if you "READ THROUGH" (what a concept lol) you (ME) learned so much more...like use TWRP instead of CWM
that TWRP is the bombDiggadee....and it roots it for you tooo...HOLY nellyFratado
sooo I'm ready for ROMS-who cant point me in the direction for jb roms (i would assume) im on 4.1.1 ( 10.4.2.20)
is there certain roms i can flash?? let me know

[Q] Help with flashing to CM mod

Hey guys. So I've been reading on how to flash to CM mod, and I'm getting confused on what needs to be done. Is there someone that could help me via PM or chat? I've never done a phone flash before so I'm utterly newbie on this. My phone is the D800. Let me know.

look in g2 android development just over 5/8 down the page is root your g2YAY! - I would do a bit more reading first and if you root make sure you have a recovery twrp or cwm and make sure to back up before changing anything its really worthwile reading up on the subject as you can get yourself in a mess if you don't know what youre doing its quite possible to flash back to factory but that is another story not very hard but read read read before doing anything

[Q] Challenge: I've messed up my new RAZR

Hey XDA! Just picked up new Droid RAZR M (XT907) and immediately messed it up on the first day. So here's the deal:
- I'm an idiot.
- Got it with 98.30.1 FW, so I used this method to root it: http://www.droidviews.com/root-verizon-droid-razr-m-razr-hd-maxx-hd-latest-firmware/
- Forgot to unlock the bootloader
- Installed ROM Manager and flashed CWM recovery
And this must have messed up something, because now I'm not able to:
- Unlock my bootloader
- Get into recovery, it returns this error: "failed to hab check for recovery 0x56"
I'm clueless now, since I have not much knowledge in this stuff...
I'd be so thankful if anyone could help me
Thanks!
Edit: Will this help me? http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-...-M-back-to-stock-ICS-from-the-JB-leak_id35580
Edit 2: Okay, so that didn't help, but I used "DROID RAZR M Utility 1.20" from mattlgroff and I was successful with bringing OG recovery back. However, I found out that the bootloader on my build just can't be unlocked. I also tried to install Safestrap and install CM on another slot, but it failed with status 6. Why is that? Or is there just any other way how to install any ROM?

Thanks, but I don't need that. I just expected a simple answer. So I'll just answer myself, sum up what I needed to know. Correct me if I'm wrong:
- There's no way I'm going to unlock my BL, I'm stuck with locked BL on my build
- There's no way I'm going to install CM (not even using SS)
- I can only wait on official Motorola KitKat update (coming in months???)
- I can also install some stock-based ROMs with SS
Yeah, I don't wanna Safestrap with custom stock-based ROMs if it can't be official CM. I'll rather keep my internal storage space with stock, disable bloat and wait for official 4.4.2 update...

Simple answer.
Do you know how many times it has been summed up! For you to find if you just searched! Or just browsed the thread titles in the general forum!
That page is all YOU need.
We need it sticked.
There is an old ss cm btw. See dev section.

Yeah, that page is also A LOT of stuff I DO NOT need.
You didn't get that. Simple answer is something else than you may think and also best answer is something really distant.
I just wanted a direct response or confirmation of what I said, not this negativism. Yeah, but what could I expect, typical XDA attitude...

I do apologize you fell this way about the members here at xda... Here at xda we help a lot of people, take time from our day away from our loved ones to assist those in need... Avi helps a lot members a lot of members... You have to understand that your issue your question has been answered and resolved several times prior to this post... I'm sure just scrolling through the topics reading the titles you would have found the answer/s to your question/s (probably answered by Avi)... I understand the search feature of xda may not result in what you are looking for but google will... We do get very tired of answering the same questions over and over again... So i apologize for the "negativism" but Why help those who won't help them selves... knowledge is power and reading is the key...

To answer your question, yes to all. And before you jump so quick as to label this typical xda attitude, keep in mind I can label you typical self entitled noob expects everything on a silver platter. People get tired of answering the same question a hundred times over... Guess your number in line. Anytime you're dealing with a locked BL it's a good idea to learn all the intricacies of your phone, which is precisely where you were referred to.... And precisely where I had to start too. That said, politeness and gratitude will get you farther in getting noob answers quicker, which none of your posts contained.
Thanks! I'm sorry if it sounded rude, I'm really grateful for any type of help. I've spent like 5h in all kinds of threads, but most of the time I just get "half-answers" from just reading and reading and reading. I'm not expecting any type of extremely thorough answer, just a direct answer with confirming of what I said. Sending me another link (which I already read) just makes me even more confused. I just found out for example, that Koush's Helium doesn't work on Motorola devices. Does that apply for root method, too? If so, are there any other alternatives to backup & restore on my RAZR M (without and with root)?

SM-N910G Root Help (5.1.1)

Hi, I have recently bought a Note 4 (SM-N910G) and it is currently on 5.1.1. I want to root the phone in order to install custom roms. However, I am very new to this and therefore I need some help. Anyone can help me?
One very good detailed explanation is on web complete with links for download. Google how to root SM-N910G.

Okay so I've found a guide online and followed it very closely. Unfortunately I have run into a problem:
It won't boot pass the black "Samsung GALAXY Note 4" page.
At the top, it also says:
"KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING"
"Set Warranty Bit: kernel"

in post #3 I gave you the best help anyone could give you, but you chose to ignore
What you have to do now, before screwed up, is to stay calm, and start reading. The only thing you need at this stage is to read. Do not do anything, or you will regret.
Stay calm, take a coffee, and come back to read, just that,
P.S. And please, do not spamming the forum, asking for help for the same problem in all threads that you have see. You dont have more or better help for writing a thousand posts.

Sorry. I am a little nervous as I have just bought the phone this morning. So from what I have read and understood so far, I have to download the stock firmware and install via Odin? I am in the process of downloading it now. However does this mean that the phone won't be rooted after I install the stock firmware? Sorry, the posts I have read so far don't make this part very clear.

no one installs a custom rom on the day you buy a phone.
Use your phone with the rom stock a few days to know a little how it works.
To install a custom ROM, you only need a custom recovery, nothing more.
However, a user xda, wrote this:
"To flash ROM root is not required but if you have never backed up your EFS Then I strongly recommend it to root your device first (If not already) then make EFS backup before flashing ROM. Though it's not required to make EFS backup flash every time you ROM but follow developer instruction and it is recommended if with particular version Then you must back up again."
Do not rush to installing a custom rom. They sometimes have more problems than advantages

It's normal for rooted phones to have this "Kernel is not Seandroid Enforcing" note during boot up.
Definitely you did something wrong or you missed a step that cause your phone to not boot up properly.
The safest way now at the moment is to flash your official stock rom via Odin, in case you can't make your phone to boot up.

This answer and the ones you gave before do NOT help anybody.
I also have a N910G and am finding contradictory advice on every search I do.
I do not breathe and live xda and other forums, so I am also not up to scratch.
Since you do not help, you should restrain from posting just to increase you post count!
the guy was being polite when he was asking for help... a little help for him wouldn't of hurt.
