SM-G900H variants uncompatible? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My G900H is a product from Trinidad & Tobago. I tried to install it a rom from Russia via Odin, all seemed to be fine until writing "hidden" then it just failed and leave the phone in download mode. The only solutions was to install the previous rom I had. Back when I had my S3 it did not matter what region the rom was for provided the were for the same model, on S5 it seems not to be the case. ¿Any workaround or is it a knox thing?

Trouble in CSC change and stock roms

Hello!
I have read many foryms on how to etc etc and my problem is as follows. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from an online store and later it upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. Appears to be genuine but it is the SM-G900H with the octa-core Exynos. I bought it in Mexico. But the csc is TPA, meaning it is from Panama. I live in the EU so I searched for CSCs for my model in europe and decided to go with Russia's one. Got the .md5 file and started flashing normally with odin3. It always fails at 99% when it tries to flash the hidden.img (unfortunately have not any image atm). So I thought that it has to do with the CSC code. I tried every way possible that were suggested on many forums starting with rooting, but nothing worked for me, not the apps suggested, not secret codes, nothing. Cannot change the csc code from TPA to anything. Although, after I try to fail instal the SER (Russian csc code), I flash CWM recovery and upon connecting to Kies3, it recognizes the version of the PDA correctly, but the csc code is still TPA (Panama). Now I try to flash official samsung ROM again from Kies3 for a fresh start. I would like to know if there is any way of overwritting this CSC. Thank you in advance.

Try to flash single countries csc instead of multi, flash again multi country csc if you want to change it to specify region.

If I understood correctly, you are saying that I should Flash again with TPA (Panama) firmware and then flash again with the SER (Russian) firmware?
I will try that tomorrow and will be back with the results.

So I tried doing that, succesfully reverted to official PTA, but unfortunately with SER it always stucks on hidden.img and fails immediately.

Flashing Other Region /Csc Frimware is possible?

My phone is Galaxy A5(SM-500F)
PDA/Baseband:A500FXXU1AOC1
Region/CSC: KSA
android version :4.4.4
*can i flash leatest (5.0.2)firmware with other csc for this model??
and How to flash this?
You shouldnt have a problem, i received my phone with NEE CSC (nordic countries) and flashed the Cyprus one as it had newer build date.
Ps, when flashing with odin, and changing region, tick the Update Bootloader option.
Also, Branded or Carrier Roms (Vodafone, Tmo, etc) wont flash on Unbranded phones as they have different partition tables.
Remember to flash only roms for your variant strictly (SM-A500F)
Edit: Latest rom is Here, instructions how to flash are on the download page of the rom you choose.

Does flashing original samsung firmwares trigger knox counter? Like if i have a stock phone with KK 4.4 and flash the LL 5.0.2
will the knox counter get triggered ?
No worries, it wont. Odin is a samsung leaked tool, and the roms are samsung made packages, it is pretty much what Kies/Smart Switch do when they handle the phones.

How to set a specific CSC from a MultiCSC firmware.

I have a S7 Edge from UAE that I have flashed with UK Vodafone firmware. Now since all Vodafone firmware is MultiCSC this has set the CSC as VD2 (Which is German Vodafone) when I want VOD (UK Vodafone). I have searched all over the internet for info into how to set a specifc CSC in MultiCSC firmware but cannot seem to find the answer. I have already tried the following suggestions:
1) Go to recovery immediately after flashing from ODIN
2) Use recovery to clear cache
3) Hard Reset in Recovery
4) Hard Reset from Settings menu
5) the *#272*IMEI# trick (this does not work on the S7)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to have the correct CSC to use Wifi Calling and VoLTE. Thanks.
Using *#272*IMEI# worked for me on my Canadian S7 edge. It might be that after flashing this feature doesn't work anymore - it happened on my Note 5, worked initially, but after tripping Knox it wouldn't work (even on stock).

The thing is that flashing the firmware using ODIN shouldn't and hasn't tripped KNOX its still 0x0
There must be some way of setting the CSC from a multiCSC firmware, how else do the operators set theirs.
Does the dual sim feature still work now that you've flashed a non dual sim firmware

There are two versions of S7 edge: Snapdragon powered and Exynos powered. On Exynos powered S7 edge, the code is not working.

Multicsc does not mean dual sim
someone post this instruction from the csc changer utility thread, I followed it and manage to change THL(Thailand multi csc fw) to XCT (unbranded Philippines fw) but I think it's just feels "artificial" to me even though I've got my country specific changes and when using Phone Info app it says XCT but when I try to use Smart Switch on PC it says my CSC is still PHN which I downloaded from the official firmware thread. :/
here's the link:

Thanks, but I don't want to root my phone.

SM-G900P with SM-G900F Firmware?

So just bought an S5 on ebay, seems to work OK and is on Android 5
I have another S5 and it's on Android 6.0.1 so I thought I'd connect the new one to PC and update.
But it claimed to have the latest firmware installed already???
So tried to manually install using Odin 3.10.6 and got a secureboot check fail message.
BUT then I read the product name, and it states it is an SM-G900P NOT and F!
Yet under the battery inside the phone it says model is SM-G900F???
So how did this USA phone model get a UK firmware installed on it?
And why doesnt it let me install the latest UK firmware using Odin?
And if I download the 900P file from sammobile, will it lock my mobile to a US network?
Just checked and this phone is rooted, and in the recovery mode I can see it's actually G900PVPU3BOG1 Not G900FXXU1BOI3
Hello Dude You Can Try To Download A G900F Custom Rom and it will work fine 100%stable on g900p if stable on g900f
my phone is g900v and i've installed a g900f custom rom ??
I am not into modding phones really.
Where is the best place to get a stable ROM? Cyanogenmod?
DO NOT FLASH A G900F tar.md5 on your G900P!!!! you CAN flash the g900P ROM in TWRP on a G900F, but dont cross the beams!! aka dont use a firmware not meant for your phone!! Resurrection remix has a killer ROM for most G900's. Root, TWRP it, and ROM it if you want to mod

Missing firmware for SM-J510FN

Hi
My device (Galaxy J5 2016) has recieved the update to Nougat 7.1.1 over an year ago, but I can't appear to be able to check for OTA updates- so I've attempted to look up the firmware online.
Apparently, the FN model is not officialy supported by Samsung for region ILO, so I can't find it's updated firmware anywhere and I oddly enough also can't find the firmware I currently have on this device, so I can't do anything (Also attempted Samsung support.. they can't help me.)
The device is currently on Marshmellow 6.0.1
the CSC is J510FOJK1APE3
AP: J510FNXXU2APK6
CP: J510FNXXU2APK6 (the same as AP)
Model: SM-J510FN
I want to stay using official firmware, avoid tripping KNOX and safely install this update without having to do a factory reset as I'd expect by upgrading a device to a correct firmware. What can I do?

Am I able to somehow modify the CSC in the firmware to match mine, so I won't have to factory reset / wipe and install it just as it's supposed to be officialy? I find it rather odd I do have a firmware with a CSC that isn't even supported for my device and yet KNOX is untripped and the firmware status is official.
