My phone is Galaxy A5(SM-500F)
PDA/Baseband:A500FXXU1AOC1
Region/CSC: KSA
android version :4.4.4
*can i flash leatest (5.0.2)firmware with other csc for this model??
and How to flash this?
You shouldnt have a problem, i received my phone with NEE CSC (nordic countries) and flashed the Cyprus one as it had newer build date.
Ps, when flashing with odin, and changing region, tick the Update Bootloader option.
Also, Branded or Carrier Roms (Vodafone, Tmo, etc) wont flash on Unbranded phones as they have different partition tables.
Remember to flash only roms for your variant strictly (SM-A500F)
Edit: Latest rom is Here, instructions how to flash are on the download page of the rom you choose.

Does flashing original samsung firmwares trigger knox counter? Like if i have a stock phone with KK 4.4 and flash the LL 5.0.2
will the knox counter get triggered ?
No worries, it wont. Odin is a samsung leaked tool, and the roms are samsung made packages, it is pretty much what Kies/Smart Switch do when they handle the phones.

I have flashed my Note with the UK ROM LP4 and want to change my CSC code from the German CSC code ODT which I set after installing the German LPY ROM. But when I try using *#272*IME# then it just shows the ODT code with no other codes listed and no selection button for the ODT code.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks for all your help
I think the U.K. Rom you installed dude doesn't offer Multi CSC resource. You have to install a rom with Multi CSC resources.
Check Samfirmware and look for another U.K Rom you can flash and check later on if you can have the option of selecting ODT among the CSCs on that ROM.

There is only one other UK rom on Samfirmware which is for the carphone warehouse but how do you know if it is Multi CSC? I don't want to select ODT but the UK CSC which I think is XEU
Thanks for your help.
hmm.. hey listen.. i read this before, try this step: downgrade your phone to a all stock GB , there are a lot of it in Dr ketan's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997. Choose the very basic stock one. After you flash to stock, check if there is ODT on that, if it does have it. Then your good to go. Flash and back to your official U.K Rom, I'm sure the Mutli CSC from the previous one is already there. By the way, you need to flash the Rom only.. not the corresponding CSC files of your new UK ROM..

Thanks for your help I'm going to flash XXLC1 which is 2.36 and is called Open Europe so it should have the UK CSC code which I think is XEU. So I need to set that once LC1 is flashed then flash LP4 again. Correct? I notice in Samfirmware there are PDA and CSC files available. Can you just flash a CSC file? If so then there is no need to flash XXLC1 which is the PDA file.
When I flashed the UK LP4 rom I just flashed the PDA file. If I had also flashed the CSC file at the same time then perhaps I would be able to select the UK CSC code. As I have just flashed the PDA file can I now flash just the CSC file or do I need to start again and flash PDA and CSC together?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am a noob
I just checked it for myself and realised that only Korea CSC code is avaible to me after ICS Turkey version update. How can i revert to TUR CSC code which is for Turkey? I flash roms with mobile odin pro. Do you think it's something related to it ?
I managed to fix my CSC code problem by flashing the stock European GB rom XXKL8 which is multi-CSC. The other big advantage of the KL8 is that it does a full wipe which clears a lot of faults when you flash over other roms without a wipe.
With XXKL8 installed I was able to select the XUE CSC code for the UK and then flash the latest ICS stock rom for the UK. With the correct UK CSC code and correct UK rom I am now able to use kies or ota for future updates.

It's nothing to do with Odin. You need to find a rom, probably a regional one which contains multiple CSC codes including your Turkey code. You might need to flash a GB rom first which does a full wipe if you have been flashing several non-wipe roms to clear any errors.
Once you are able to set the Turkey CSC using the regional Multi-CSC rom then you can flash the ICS rom for Turkey then you will have the correct CSC code and correct rom so you will be able to use kies for updates.
Hope this helps.
To be honest i don't remember which Gingerbread CSC code i was using before the ICS update and moreover i didn't directly flash ICS Turkey version over gingerbread. I first flashed ICS LPY German then i flashed ICS Turkey on it. Before that i only used German , Open Europe and Turkey roms. So i don't have a clue where did that Korean CSC come from even tho i never flashed a rom with Korean CSC. Thanks for the tip but i'm scared to downgrade to gingerbread for the famous emc bug hard brick problems. I can bare with korean csc for now as i never flash roms through kies.

Flashing ROMS is never risk free. However flashing stock GB ROMS correctly using Odin appears to be reasonably safe. You can do a search for the correct CSC code for Turkey and change that but it will do a factory reset. If you don't have the CSC code which matches your ROM then you will not be able to update firmware using Kies.
Doesn't manual factory reset on a single-CSC ROM also change the CSC to that of the ROM...?
Hi,
Via OTA and Kies there is still no upgradet 4.4.2 available ...
CSC code is MJ8 (BOG) --> Bouygues Télécom France.
My phone is an I9505 ... I suppose I can just use Odin to flash another 4.4.2 firmware for the I9505 with a different CSC code?
I used to do some modding with previous phones ... but so far I 've only been using a 'standard' S4. Thus therefore I would like to get confirmation from some people who have more experience with flashing S4 phones.
Better wait for OTA or KIES 3 update android 4.4.2. Your phone is branded to one company.

That's the point firmware is not yet available via OTA or KIES 3. The phone is most certainly branded ... it contained some french apps which I never use out-of-the-box. I don't care about loosing these apps.
Question is will I encounter problems when I flash with another french, british, dutch, ... firmware?
Personally I don't think so ... If you can only flash the original firmware then sites like sammobile.com which host all different original firmwares dont have a reason to exist?
Or am I wrong?
Hi,
I stay in India and own a Galaxy S4 I9505 device, but this device was not originally launched in India.
Now since the Official Lollipop update has been released for this model, I am wondering which firmware should I flash on my device (I mean which country's firmware should I pick?)
I know various touchwiz based Lollipop roms are already available for this device. But I want to flash the Stock Firmware coz I am facing an issue and I think flashing the original firmware will probably get me out of it!
Only preference for me is the English language... ?? Kindly help !
Thank you.
You can flash all of them. It doesn't matter.
Flash the firmware from your carrier and country.
Hello folks,
I would like to update my S7 Edge (SM-G935F) to the latest Nougat firmware which if I'm not mistaken arrived UK BTU, which is:
PDA - G935FXXU1DQB3
CSC - G935FOXA1DQB1
I would like to install it via Odin, the most stock way possible (don't want root or custom recovery), just because that I'm tired that it haven't arrived OTA in my country (PT).
But I have a few questions regarding this manually update to the latest firmware of another country:
1) Manually installing the latest update from BTU UK will stop me from receiving future OTA updates? and if no, will I be receiving the OTA updates in the future from UK or PT??
2) My device with the currently firmware has no bloatware from any network (was bought unlocked), if I upgrade to the latest firmware from BTU UK, will I still have no bloatware? (or bloat will be installed?)
3) Will I have any problem from installing a firmware from other country (being both for the same model: SM-G935F)?
Thank you very much in advance! :good:
I have everything ready to make the manual flash, just want to clear this things out before I do it.
Thanks

Each country or region has it's own CSC which can be easily flashed
by itself without the need to odin flash a different country's full firmware.
The only time you need to think about bloatware is if you flash a specific
carrier's firmware like perhaps vodaphone and most other carriers add
their own bloatwares. But if you only flash the regional firmware for your
country or region like BTU UK you will not end up with bloatware.
Good luck and happy flashing!

Future OTA's will not be a problem if you have flashed
the proper CSC for your country before trying to update
future firmwares.

So you are saying that first I should change my CSC to the UK, then flash the latest firmware via Odin and won't have to worry about future updates? Can't I simply flash the latest UK BTU firmware and it will change the CSC and get me the latest firmware in once?
I got a UAE S7 edge off of amazon about a week ago. Not rooted, running latest OS nougat version available. CSC code is XSG. I just can't get Samsung Pay working on it though. I read from a few places that it is possible to install the framework and samsung pay apk's. I installed the version 2.7.38 framework. I first tried the 2.6.00 version of the Samsung Pay app, but had no luck as I couldn't get past the first screen. I then tried 2.7.46. It managed to load in, but failed because I don't have a Korean sim card in my phone? Can someone please explain to me what I'm screwing up? Or if I can somehow disable this pop-up?
Download XSA (Australia) firmware and flash it in Odin, Australian firmware has it preloaded and working. XSA also has Nougat so you're good.

Will flashing it trip the Knox? I remember rooting/flashing roms into my old note 5 and tripping the Knox that way.

If you flash firmware directly from Samsung then no, since the firmware is official and signed by Samsung. If you flash anything Custom such as a custom ROM or Kernel, then yes.
Just download the firmware from Sammobile (Ofiicial Samsung) and flash it via Odin. Knox will not trip.
